2010 & 2012 have been the years for the most new coasters for me, and they're not that many:

2012 (16): Top Thrill Dragster, Corkscrew, Gemini, Raptor, Firehawk, Batman, Dare Devil Dive, Cyclone, Goliath, Mindbender, Ninja, Superman, Mine train, Scorcher, GASM, Wild Eagle

2010 (13): Millenium Force, Blue Streak, Mean Streak (ow), Maverick, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Iron Dragon, Magnum, Diamondback, Flight of Fear, Crypt, Boo Blasters (does this count since it was a new old ride?), Surf Dog, Flying Ace Aerial Chase

Up until 2010, the only 2 parks I had ever been to were Kings Island and Dollywood. My new goal is to go to at least one new park every year.

Finally a thread I can participate in! I actually keep track how many new credits I get every year (since 2008) and back then, it was easy to remember what year I rode each new coaster. 2009 was the year I started involving myself more with roller coasters and TPR and all that, so my coaster count took off at that time. So here's my list!

1999 - 2

2001 - 4

2002 - 13

2003 - 7

2004 - 28

2005 - 12

2006 - 9

2007 - 1

2008 - 11

2009 - 81

2010 - 41

2011 - 72

2012 - 9 (so far)

--Total-- 290

I'll break 300 by the end of the year!

Let's see what coaster-count says:

1999: 13

2000: 7

2001: 10

2002: 1

2003: 15

2004: 9

2005: 6

2006: 8

2007: 2

2008: 25

2009: 2

2010: 36

2011: 66

2012: 44

Note that the counts before 2008 are approximate since I didn't start keeping track of what year I've rode each coaster before then. However, the counts somewhat make sense based on what happened during the high count years.

-1999: Year I reached 54 inches and no longer had to worry about height restrictions

-2001: First visit to the Northern California parks

-2003: Point where I was no longer afraid of any coasters

-2008: First coaster trip

-2010: TPR IntimidaTour

-2011: TPR North East Tour plus some additional out of state parks

-2012: TPR LeviaTHON Trip

I'm guessing it's unlikely I'll exceed 50 in a year again for some time, as that would take one of the longer TPR trips or an international trip (neither of which are currently within my budget/time restrictions).

I don't know exactly, but I'd say since I started doing TPR trips in '08 each year has been about the same (70+), however this year was definitely the most for me with the full China tour.

This year I made my first visits to Disneyland, USH, and picked up a few stray credits at SFMM and Knott's.

Also had my first visits to DelGrosso's, Lakemont, and Kings Island. Picked up a good amount of random new attraction credits like Leviathan, Skyrush, Verbolten. I might be missing a few.

And then the whole China trip, which with my counting system I ended up getting exactly 100.

So maybe a total of around 130 new credits this year.

I am counting it anyways because in my opinion if its completely taken apart, moved, and reassembled on new terrain and footings its not the same. If I use your logic I don't believe you should be able to count multiple boomerangs. They are the exact same layout, made by the exact same company, most likely by the same workers in the same manufacturing plant.

Yes, but they are different tracks. GL is the exact same track as Chang, and the supports are the same too. Boomerangs, yes they were made by the same workers, but they are all different pieces of track, if you catch my drift. They are all separate coasters, while GL and Chang are literally the exact same.
