hansrubens
Hi everyone!!! The park season started, a good reason to hit the road again. So Robin and me picked a few of europe's best parks to visit. Our first park of the trip was Parc Asterix mainly for the new BM OZ Iris and of course it's a great themed park (too bad it's run by French people). I drove down to Parc Asterix while Robin and his sister used the great European public transportation system to travel to Parc Asterix. As a miracle we arrived at the exact same time! I really liked OZ Iris. The drop is the steepest I'v done so far on any BM Invert. I don't even know if there's a BM invert with a steeper drop. The theming is great and it's really forceful. Too bad the french people couldn't get the coaster started before 1 pm. The coaster got stuck on the lifthill several times. Anyway it was running great once they got it started. Robin will take care to review some of the other rides at the park. Picture time!!! Robin and his sister are already waiting for me! This was also a credit I still needed. and a credit it was! Wrong park! New paint same pain (I guess) It goes so fast you can't even see the train or the pain. This a great ride too! Look below for a better review! Oz Iris station building. The whole area is beautiful. Some inside station pictures. Great details. And some funny drawings too. One of the trains stuck on the lift hill. This ride got the classic elements. And something to take. Coming out of the tunnel. I like mist. Lap with a train. Insanely steep first drop. Second element. The first part of the ride is very intense. With a weird flat spot between the loop and Immelman. Entering the tunnel. The first zero-G is a bit weak but the second one will take you by surprise. Final Oz Iris picture! Ahhh. I conclude this coverage of Parc Asterix with a very random park photo... Edited June 24, 2012 by hansrubens
robinschroder
We all had a great time at Parc Asterix. Goede Gezelligheid!! Oz Iris is easily as good as Nemesis and Katun! I absolutely loved it - especially right at the very back. A great first drop, some forceful bits, some nice floaty bits, and fantastic theming all combine to make a brilliant ride! I would strongly encourage you all to go and ride it! Tonnerre de Zeus wasn't overly rough, although it kind-of fizzled out as the ride went on. Disappointing! It certainly didn't hit the break-run with enough speed to shake it violently, as it has done in previous years. L'Oxygénarium has to the best Spinning Rapids ride I've ever been on - ultra spinny, ultra fast, ultra intense! It was a great ride to end a brilliant day! Oh, and of course Goudurix was very re-rideable* *when I rode it in 1993

cfc
Asterix does have one of the more impressive looking B&M inverts now. I'm quite impressed with the theming they put into the station.
hansrubens
Nice TR, but please..: (too bad it's run by French people). Hope you're kidding, or else, why do you say that? Don't be offended by it. It's just a joke! I was just playing to the friendly rivalry between the Netherlands and France! ----Hans

hansrubens
Time for part two. After Parc Asterix we went to Paris to spend the night. It took me 3 hours to make my way through Paris traffic. It was epic!! The next day was a non park day as we needed to drive to Europapark which is a 6 hour drive. After a long and expensive (pulled over by the French police for speeding, 500 meter before the German border) drive we arrived in the town of Rust. After we settled ate something we decided to go to Hotel Colosseo to check out the bar. It turned out that there was a beauty contest for the upcoming European Cup. Too bad The Netherlands didn't win there either. Anyway I took some pictures! Miss EM alright! Here's the first model! Oder Wodan? Ohh it's Wodan! Cool model in the lobby of Colosseo. It was really busy on the central plaza for obvious reasons! I can't remember who won. Tell me which one should have won? Europapark at night. hansrubens
^ Sorry Larry. Luckily I still got my memories! Europapark self was quite busy but still got plenty of rides in thank to the single rider lines at Wodan and Blue Fire. Wodan is a good fun GCI coaster with great interaction with Blue Fire and Atlantica maybe not the best GCI but that area of the park is now just amazing. It broke down quite a few times during the day but they still were able to keep open the ride. Europapark is the best themepark in the word, let's go to the pictures! Our ride!! No seriously it's the new theming of the Silverstar station. This happened quite a few times. But this happened also a quite few times! The drop is really good. Interaction. This whole area is great! Station building. Happy faces. We also used the normal queue which was a mistake. The line was about 2 hours while the single rider line only was about 20 minutes. Hey! At least we could see all the theming and understand the story of the ride. and take some more pictures of the ride. Airtime hill. Looking upskirt. Some more theming inside of the structure. And we we're able to pick the backseat which is prpbably the best seat on the train. We love row 12. Oh wait the park is more than just Wodan! Pretty busy I spot two little duckies! Water, water everywhere we're gonna get wet! We witnessed a three boat overtaking maneuver. Unique We did ride this one too. This ride is great. Highly recommanded Thanks for reading once again! When we rode L'Oxy... a few years back, I remember thinking "This is laaaaame compared to Hansa!" Wierd how that happens sometimes, isn't it? robinschroder
^ Whilst the one at Hansa was a lot of fun when we rode it, we really spun out of control on the one at Parc Asterix! With several 'is the raft going to stay in the slide' moments! Here is my Europa Park summary: We had a really good day at Europa Park - it's difficult not to! Blue Fire - a great, great ride! Silver Star - a great ride! (shame about the trims) Wodan - a great family ride! (when the queue is open)
hansrubens
So it's been a while since my last update..... This next park on our trip was Plopsa Germany Holidaypark. This park is also known as Geforceland. This trip was the quest for the best train and seat on Geforce. I think our final choise was the non X train left backseat. Or maybe it was the X train. Can't remember anymore... Well maybe it's not that important. Just go and ride Geforce you will like it anyway. I think it's about time to go to the pictures..... The new entrance area. Robin was afraid he couldn't make the height requirements. After all that excitement he had to text home. But first the celebration of Super Wirbel!! It was it's third consecutive season without derailing. I think this is the most important rule... Hinter die rote linien. I don't know what happens if you cross the rote linien? Did somebody already tried? I see pain. They even have a Super Wirbel museum. Now check out the new Plopsa area. Hi there mr. bug. Please don't eat our children It wasn't fully finished on our visit. Maya und Wicky! This is what once the path was from the entrance to Geforce. Yay for Expedition Geforce. Still going strong. This is the X train. This way you can recognise the good train. The problem is.. I can't remember which the better one is. Well I gues it's great anyway. X or non X. uh oh Robin will you make it? Mmmmm The first drop is the first element.... Great!! Different riding styles part 1. and part two. part III. Looking cool rolling back into the station. From the parking. I'm sure they do something about this. Two dorks and Holly. Thanks for reading!!! robinschroder
Hans, great report from our trip to Geforceland!! After some research, it turns out we liked the X train best! Avoid the non X train at all costs!!!
