robbalvey 85
Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at the Tokyo Disneyland Resort, including Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of these park as well as past updates, see TPR's Tokyo Disneyland Park Index Page and TPR's Tokyo DisneySea Park Index Page. It looks a lot like the T-shaped DCA version. 2. It's *HUGE* 3. Damn, it's getting built...FAST! disneyfan1313 0
wow.. It is amazing how fast it is going up! I've gotta plan another Japan trip! The major change is a lack of Twilight Zone theming and the twist of the new york theme. It should be great (just like everything at TDS )

disneyfan1313 0
Oriental Land Company issued a press release today about a new attraction coming in 2009 URAYASU, CHIBA - A new attraction inspired by Disney’s presentation of Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. will open in "Tomorrowland" in "Tokyo Disneyland Park" in Japanese fiscal year 2009. Guests experiencing the attraction will be able to participate in a game of hide-and-seek at the Monsters, Inc. building with the little girl Boo, Mike, Sulley, and other characters featured in the movie. The attraction will capture the warmth and charm of Boo and the monsters, and is sure to be a hit with kids and grown-ups alike. This seems like a bit of a large lead time for a new attraction - hopefully it will be amazing. I'm assuming it will be in the old "Meet the World" building (where they distribute seating tickets for special events now). They also announced a closing of one of the most unique attractions at a Disney theme park. I'm glad I got to ride it when I was there! URAYASU, CHIBA - The Fantasyland attraction "Cinderella Castle Mystery Tour" will be permanently closed, with its final day of operation on April 5, 2006. The tour began in 1986 as "Tokyo Disneyland Park's" first "walkthrough" attraction, and has been enjoyed by numerous guests in its 20 years of operation. Plans for the use of the space currently occupied by the "Cinderella Castle Mystery Tour" are still in development. Hopefully it will be a new walk-thru attraction in its place! Wes 0
Yeah, Tokyo's Monsters Inc. ride is totally going to crap over DCA's. Sort of like how their Winnie The Pooh is 100000000000000000000x better than Disneyland's.
Jew 35
Monsters Inc. in Tomorrowland?? Sounds like it an interesting ride concept though.
robbalvey 85
OMG! I'm so glad we did the Castle Mystery Tour! I'll have to post that video.... --Robb
Nrthwnd 53
Oh Hmmmph. I was really really looking forward to finally having a chance to go through the Cinderella Mystery Tour, when the TPR Japan Tour took place. Hmmmph. Ah well, yes, a new version of 'Mike & Sulley To the Rescue' will more than likely kick the proverbial butt of the DCA original, like 'Pooh' did (and probably does) to it's DL counterpart. Still - always looked forward to that Tour, sometime in the near future.....
MrMorgan 0
OH NO! the castle tour was so cool!!! why would they close it? i'm glad i saw it, too.
robbalvey 85
Although I will say that the Castle Tour was a bit "dated" I mean, Black Cauldron? C'mon! I'm certianly hoping that whatever is done with that space is simply an upgrade of the current attraciton. It certainly seemed popular! It was a 45 minute wait both times we were there. --Robb
Hattuchili 0
Damn, I havn´t seen the castle tour till now and it looks like I´ll never see it! --Sören

CreativeForce 0
I'm so glad that we went on the Castle tour last year. I don't think I would have enjoyed it half as much if it had been in english!
DerekRx 0
Thats kind of a bummer that its closing. It seemed to be unique and based on a not so popular movie. Oh well, at least we know whatever they replace it with, it'll be lightyears better than the same "attraction" at DLR.

Anyone who has done this attraction- is it a major loss with it closing? Seems it was only offered in Japanese and left many english speaking visitors in *shrug* or *wtf* mode. Seems the Mickey Mouse Revue may also be on its last legs. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Mickey's Philharmagic took its place. One would think the whole '80s style retro Fantasyland of Tokyo Disneyland is due for a major facelift, no? -Mark
ECZenith 0
Maybe they'll just update the exisiting building with a different story, it may not be a total loss. Although I hope they don't pull the Alien encounter to Stitch crap.
