Apparently, the budget for the star E-ticket attraction itself will be over $400 million (at a minimum).

 

I'm gonna call BS on that, Radiator Springs Racers cost ~$200 million, I am extremely skeptical of them spending double that on a single attraction.

 

I would never be skeptical of Tokyo Disney spending money.

^ Totally agree with this. And if they're going to spend that much money on a single attraction, then I am guessing (or hoping) that the ride system itself will be pretty awesome. And not like the re-do of Maelstrom at EPCOT, either. It might not even be trackless, too. Or, it's a combo dark ride and coaster sleigh (around, under, over and through Elsa's Ice Castle) ride.

 

Can't wait for this one.

Actually, since I already accidently double posted,

might as well use this space for for Armchair Imagineering...

 

As an Add-on, to the previous post - And the soundscape

for the entire coaster portion would be echoes of "Let It Go,"

finally darkening in tones and sounds as Elsa freeks out,

then gets taken back to Arendelle...

 

 

And putting dark parts into it, may sound like a rehash of the

Snow White attraction thing,. But these children are much smarter

nowadays. And they know and love this film inside out. So they

get it, and know what'll be coming.

 

Arendelle works perfect into that corner of TDS. (the "Frozen" film shot)

If I remember correctly, RSR was actually closer to $300 million or even higher by the time it was completed. One of the insiders on another board mentioned the rockwork pushing the budget considerably higher than the initial number released to the public.

 

HAHAHAHA, keep going higher guys. RSR alone was far more expensive then you think. Add in that amazing rock work and you get to some crazy numbers. Remember, the Little Mermaid cost over $100 million...

Yeah, it turns out the final cost of RSR was $350 million and about $600 million for Cars Land as a whole. Quite a shocking figure, though I guess WDI's budgets have always seemed inflated compared to what UC gets for their buck. Even Toy Story Land was over $100 million for 3 cheap carnival rides.

 

About the Frozen E-ticket, the budget has the potential to be even higher due to the show building (like RSR). Apparently, $400 million is the current "low-end" estimate.

Knowing TDL, there'll be a full 3 minute dark ride, the coaster, and then another 3 minute dark ride.

 

Although this quote is about a "possible" clone of the Dwarfs Mine Train in TDL, I think it could easily apply

about Arendelle and what it will have, to WOW us, eventually. (And the coaster is the Ice Castle!)

Id love it if the land opened with the same things as Cars Land: 3 rides (preferably a Coaster, Boat Dark Ride, and D ticket) Full sit down eatery and quick serve food locations. Plus a Meet N Greet and small-ish performance venue.

I just realized, in the coaster/castle part, "Marshmallow" has to be somewhere.

And out of sight, till Surprise! Like Abominable in Matterhorn and/or (poor) Yeti

in Exp:Everest.

Luckily, if Disney ever decides to build a giant AA ever again (or fix the Yeti), there is far better tech out there now that will make the thing more reliable. Mainly, the new inflatable bodies and skins.

Boy is that blog making me miss Tokyo with each new update, the costumes are incredible I need to try and hop over on one of those weeks and brave the crowds. I had no idea Tokyo disneyland had a different night parade for when it's raining, instead of just outright cancelling. On my last snowy trip they cancelled the day parades but cleared out the snow for the full night parade. Also i'd seen the mickey shaped burgers before but not the mickey egg yolks

I was there a couple of months ago ; there is a room full of fast-pass-like machines (setup near Space Mountain);

You scan your park-ticket(s), enter your ticket "requirements" (show/time/number of peeps) on a screen and it spurts out (or not) the tickets;

^ In past visits there, at the time, I remember the lottery ticket system being used only for one show,

called "One Man's Dream" which was in one of the buildings in Tomorrowland. Now, it looks like there

are more than one show to choose from, which is great!

 

And the photos clear up (in my head) how they did the lottery, etc. We never did it, because it was

for the one show only back then, and it was all in Japanese.

 

Definitely worth a look-see-try on the next visit there. Thanks for sharing the photos and the info.

Just found out my niece is going to be there in about 4 months! I'm so incredibly jealous. It's always been amazing to me how much the Japanese people love parades and shows!

new seating(stage?) area, in Mediterranean Harbour for Fantasmic, 'dry' stage shows,

and other water shows at TDS.
