disneyfan1313
I like the "nighttime experience" twist. I wonder if that will help spread lines throughout the day more or if it will just cause many re-rides at night.
PKI Jizzman
Great news! The park already has an amazing line up, including their rocket slide. I'll be curious to see where it's going in...there's not THAT much space to work with, seeing that it pretty much goes in a straight line.
Reon
I'm thinking that it might be an indoor-outdoor slide, with the start and splashpool inside. Since its enclosed, it wont matter if it just goes out and around the waterpark then comes back in.

Absimilliard
The first Tantrum Tornado opened back in 2007 at Proslide's own water park. That park is near Ottawa, ON on the Quebec side and features a small selection of Proslide slides that are pretty much prototypes. The name is Mont Cascades and it doubles as a skiing resort in winter. The prototype Tantrum was a regular Dark Mammoth, which is Proslide's name for the covered family raft slide. They decided to add the Tantrum funnel to the beginning and on their website, you can see a video showing the construction and the first test riders. http://www.proslide.com/rides_03.php I'm happy that the number of Tantrum sold by Proslide is picking up! They sold 2 in 2008. They went to a waterpark in Korea and a Kidz version to Chimelong Paradise in China. They sold 4 in 2009 with one going to another Korea park, 1 to Magic Waters in IL, 1 to Splish Splash in NY and 1 to Wet n Wild Emerald Point. 2010 is going to be an amazing year for Proslide! They sold 8 Tantrums, including the 3 going to those Great Wolf Lodge. One going to Singapore, another to a place in Scotland, a major version going to Wild Wadi waterpark in Dubai, a clone of the Splish Splash version going to Raging Waters San Dimas, CA. Also, they sold one to Adventureland, IA, which is getting a whole new water park. The rate they're selling them is on par with the Tornado, so its going to be a great success too. crazywolf88
the triple twist slides aren't tantrums, they are topsey turveys, if you look at mason ohios version, look how short the drop is, but look at geat wolf poconos first funnel drop, much bigger and steeper, all in all great wolf poconos is a tantrum and the rest are topsey turveys. tiger01
I like the look of the third one. That spiral into the second bowl looks really fun. I'm not sure about the first one it seems boring because there isn't any slide its just the funnels! The LED thing sounds interesting. Can't wait for it to open! crazywolf88
great wolf lodge mason ohio's slide actually is connected to a slide part way demolished. the slides color is green, and blue, right, but at the begining and the end, the slide looks like the alberta falls slide in the other parks. Jerrykoala2112
Did anyone notice when the raft is about to exit the funnels, riders get flunged out of their seats? It even looked like a guy completely lifted off the raft but got back down because he was holding on. I have a feeling people will start flying everywhere

COASTER FREAK 11
A few weeks ago a hotel and water park was announced for Garden Grove, right down the street from Disney, literally. Well, the operator of the property has finally been revealed: Great Wolf Resorts! GARDEN GROVE – Great Wolf Resorts announced Monday that they will operate a six-acre water park hotel in the city that's a stones throw away from Disneyland.Great Wolf Lodge in Garden Grove's International West Resort will be a full-service, family destination resort with 600 suites, 30,000 square feet of meeting space, 100,000 square feet indoor water park and additional indoor entertainment areas and amenities, officials said. The park operator – which touts itself as "North America's largest family of indoor water park resorts" – pushes the water park resort closer to becoming a reality, despite a lawsuit from residents at an RV park, which will have to be eliminated to make room for it. City staff visited a number of the company's properties and were impressed by the operator, said Economic Development Director Chet Yoshizaki. "They have a good track record and own and operate a number of water park hotels across the country,'' he said. "Not only do they operate a great water park but a number of amenities as part of the hotel that is conducive for kids and families.'' Yoshizaki said city officials and the park developer Colorado-based McWhinney agreed that Great Wolf, based in Madison, Wis., would be the most suitable to operate the park. The 10.3-acre site for the $300 million project is near the intersection of Harbor and Garden Grove boulevards, about a mile from Disneyland. Groundbreaking on the project is expected in 2012. Last month, the city paid $1.4 million to buy what city officials called the last piece of land needed to make way for the water park resort. The purchase meant the Humdinger Bar - a long-time fixture on Harbor Boulevard – will have to move. The development was met with opposition after City Council members unanimously voted in favor of the park in May 2009, setting in motion the development of a 600-room hotel with a three-acre attached water park. The development means the city will have to vacate the Travel Country RV Park. The residents there sued the city in August for fair relocation. In April, council members approved paying McWhinney $42 million upfront after the hotel opens by issuing a bond. The redevelopment agency had originally agreed to pay the amount over a period of 15 years. However, the developer requested the amount in its totality when the hotel opens. City officials estimate that the city will get $8.5 million a year in bed tax, property and sales taxes once the hotel opens. Yoshizaki said the debt will be paid off with those profits and that residents will not see anything on their property tax bills as a result of this bond. That number is based on a 66 percent occupancy rate, which is a conservative estimate for the Orange County resort area, said City Manager Matt Fertal. He explained how the company's hotels are unique in that they have different themes. In addition, kids who don't utilize the water park still take advantage of multiple programs geared toward children such as games and recreational activities. "It's not just a water park," he said. "It's an all-around good environment for kids." http://www.ocregister.com/news/park-255324-city-water.html And here is a link to Link a map of the hotel and water park complex. This looks really cool, and will really clean up that end of Harbor! NEWS: I wend ahead and updated the title and subtitle to be a bit more descriptive. Thanks for sharing this with us! crazywolf88
No one has been posting a reply since march 06 2010 so I will post a video of the poconos double barrel drop, the last funnel resembles white water rafting more than a typical tornado-like ride but it looks fun. Also a new video of the triple twist and the other topsy turvys just came out. Pretty cool so far. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaSEircEpfA some vesions of the topsy turvys Edited December 7, 2010 by crazywolf88

thrillrider
They look like fun, but by the look's of it, it look's like the line is going to take forever. What's the capacity of one of these slides?
Midgetman82
I went on the Tantrums in Aquatica called "Omaka Rocka", they feed quite well like a regular water slide, but what may drive you away is the "pre" line to get an inner-tube because it looks like the line is super long, but it's not. I have to say that these slides are very fun to ride and get you completely soaked (more then usual on a regular inner-tube slide).
