Geauga Dog
Since the stage for the new show will be by Iron Dragon I'm wondering if the ride will be closed during the show just like it was during the old laser show. I wasn't really planning on going to CP this year but this new night show has me rather intrigued. Edited February 26, 2012 by Geauga Dog
braztaz
The area will really open up with that big screen gone. Can't wait for some more updates.

coasterlover420
^^^Yes, they have the ride hosts direct traffic through the midway instead.
thrillrider
It was also mentioned that there will be a bypass for those that do not want to watch the show.
thrillrider
Some more pictures. Corkscrew Skyride station Looking out to the main midway. Skyrides counterweight. Lets take a look at matterhorn. They really strip the ride down to it's bones. If you have to use the bathroom..... Your out of luck. Lots of work being done to scrambler. Not much left of the ride right now. This is where the center of the ride is. Ride parts all over the place. Noted. This is where all the employees get there uniforms. The water tower. Cedar fairs main office is located inside the park. This is where all the food is stored. The girls dorm building. Let's look at some more of the trains. Like a rainbow. Some maverick seats got new belts. All 3 of millennium forces trains were sitting in the parking lot. Some were stripped down. Corkscrew seat belts. An arrow train down to the bones. No step. This is a rack for raptor. Raptor Close up shot of a raptor wheel. Most coasters got new wheels. Close up of new wheel. Millennium forces sled. Maverick train totaly stripped down. A closer look at a turned over train chassis. Can anyone guess what coaster this is? If you said dragster, you were wrong. Magnums trains were at the other end of the lot. There was some kind of work going on near the magnum exit. The old time cars were being stored in the soak city lot. A mine ride train mixed in with gemini trains. The p&d dept, and mean streak. Some more new wood on mean streak. Burn it down....errr...I ment to say mean streak. I think these are the cars that normaly sit in front of coasters dinner. Maverick Blue streaks lift hill. Blue streak and raptors station. Turnpike cars sitting next to blue streak. The picinic areas were enclosed and turned into work areas. Just outside the park, I got a shot of the new dq. Breakers express. I will have a few more shots and other things real soon.
mattnz
These are great, thanks for sharing. Awesome to hear about the fast passes finally becoming a reality at Cedar Point (I would happily fork out $50 for this!). And cool to hear about the new show. It actually sounds pretty good. TJ27
Sorry if this has been asked before but I was wondering how you get to do this? Is it a tour that is open to everyone that can pay for it or is it some kind of private thing that is only open to certain people??
thrillrider
The fast pass will come in the form of a wristband. I believe he said that it would be sold in several locations in the park, and online. It will be good for 18a different rides.

thrillrider
I have the new 2012 park booklet. Nothing too exciting, but I see that they are pushing the $32 tickets if you stay at a cp resort. And a few mentions of the dino upcharge attraction. Geauga Dog
Just out of curiosity was anything said during the tour of Mine Ride getting Gemini trains to replace the old ones?
Reality15
Nice photos, Dave. I was really hoping to join everyone on the tour this time, but life got in the way and I had to back-out last minute. Too bad, looks like you guys got to see some interesting stuff! CoasterCreator9
Awesome stuff here! Pretty crazy seeing CP this empty, the emptiest I've seen it is early entry days. I'm curious about the markings around DT..

kunpc1
Thank you so much for sharing all these awesome pictures for us! It's so great seeing the parks when they're mostly abandoned. It's just such a different perspective. Hopefully more coaster groups will be able to get more parks to open their gates to groups to share these things with more enthusiasts. harper83087
Great pics! Thanks for posting them. I'm interested in those markings by DT, could the forever rumored removal be near?
thrillrider
The rumor about it being removed was started by coaster geeks. Disaster transport is not going anywhere in the next few years at least. There is even talks of re-theaming it. The numbers for the ride are still good. I am not sure, but they are installing all kinds of lights on the main midway and front of the park. The markings could be for just that.
beatle11
Disaster Transport is fun. I'd much rather see Mean Streak burned to the ground and it's ashes sent into oblivion.
