cfc
It would be great to see another Tumble Bug in operation. I rather like the one at Kennywood.
Myself
This project, with the events mentioned in Larry's most recent update, has evolved from the preservation of the dark attraction to the possible advent of what could eventually be the next Knoebels. I approve!
kidcoaster 2
I'm assuming the Tumble Bug will be the one from Whalom? I thought I heard someone bought it but didn't do anything with it. The only other one I can think of is Chippewa's but that one is lost. Â Glad he plans to do more but I wish them the best of luck with the Bug if they do get it because I have seen how much work is required to keep them operating since parts are really hard to come by. Taylor Finn
With every update, I get more and more excited. I assume most work for the year is done with winter impending. Either way, it excites me to hear a Tumble Bug could come his way. Even if he just opens a few attractions next season, that can get him some funding to push forward with the midway. Â This Old Mill...is the implication that the ride would be similar to the one Kennywood had 7 or 8 years ago? Or is this a model name? As usual, thanks for keeping us posted. This is the most interesting thing for me.
larrygator
^Work will continue throughout the winter. If weather prohibits working on the outside of the Fun House, there is still work to be indoors, creation of props and stunts. Also, one of the Dark Rides will open in the spring, so that building needs to be constructed and decorated. Â In ths case Old Mill is the generic term for a gravity powered boat ride, yes like the one at Kennywood. Meteornotes
Tumble Bug? Yes! Â Tortoise exhibit? Yes! Â William's Grove Cyclone? Um, no. Â dt
Taylor Finn
^ I don't know... a coaster is a coaster. Though I am still not sure how well it fits with the theme of the place. Either way, I hope they have the maintenance capabilities to bring these rides back and running nicely and keep them that way. I am becoming more certain they are capable of just about anything at this point.
Meteornotes
^That ride was in pretty terrible shape when the park closed, and it's been sitting there for years. I can only imagine what condition it's in at this point. Â dt
Taylor Finn
I saw the video Robb posted a while back. I am sure it is, and they are in no position to pour money to make it bearable. I just think it is interesting they want to get it. I suppose the asking price can hardly be very high.
cfc
I can see them reassembling a Tumble Bug and getting it going, but I imagine the old coaster would have to be rebuilt from scratch. Maybe they're just buying the plans, as was the case with the Zippin Pippin? Â At least these guys are skilled craftsmen. larrygator
^^The price is certainly right. Â ^If I remember correctly when John Fetterman spoke about the re-location of Starliner a few years ago, he said of the wood generally only the vertical supports can be salvaged in relocating a wood coaster. So I assume it's only that plus the plans, lift chain, motor and trains. Â I questioned Chuck about moving and rebuilding a coaster and he said he has a team that can handle it. cfc
^Well, at least this coaster project (if it comes to pass) would involve a group of people who actually know what they're doing when it comes to construction.
jray21
Seems like a lot of truly amazing stuff going on! I'm looking forward to it more and more every update! Can't wait to see more.
jedimaster1227
I really am impressed with how much this project has involved since Larry first introduced it to us a year ago! I really cannot wait to see what comes of these ideas (especially the thought of them building an Old Mill) and would definitely go out of my way to visit this incredible nostalgia mecca when I'm next in the area! larrygator
^Funny that you mention that. Last night I went back and read through the whole thread. Â A lot of these ideas have been around since I first started reporting on the project. So while some of this is an evolution of their Fun Grove idea, much if it is also just me revealing it in a piecemeal fashion.

RoCo
It's so easy to imagine what this place could look like in five years. Incredible. And thanks for the info about the radio interview!
larrygator
I literally just got off the phone with Chuck and he shared the latest news. Some of it we have to be kept partially under wraps, but I can still tease you all. Â Chuck is on the verge of acquiring two more rides. The first is another classic dark ride. The second is a truly one-of-a-kind flat ride. As negotiations become final I will be able to see more, but Chuck hopes to have both rides on site by the end of the year. Â Also, ground breaking is about to start for the first dark ride building.
rctneil
Wow, Sounds really nice. Would love to visit this place if I get the chance to be nearby in the future. Â Thanks for keeping us all updated with its progress, Larry!
Taylor Finn
I have no doubts that this place will be up on its feet wooing people in the spring with at least one attraction open. I just hope they can have a second offering up by the summer, whether it be a flat ride, another dark ride, or something else. Can't say it enough, I (along with probably everyone else) have not had the opportunity to see such a cool project (or any project for that matter) be documented from the ground up, thought process and all. To hear their ambitions evolve straight from you is just a neat thing. Hopefully, Bill will eventually tell us what all these secret rides are gonna be, though. Hilltopper39
The second is a truly one-of-a-kind flat ride. Â If this is anything other than a Kick Boodie then I'm not interested in the project anymore . Â But seriously, a Kick Boodie and this awesomely weird haunted fun land nostalgia center are a match made in heaven, make it happen!
larrygator
^Sorry, but I can assure everyone that it is not Kick Boodie. But who knows, your post might give Wild Bill and Chuck an idea.
jedimaster1227
This is purely speculation and probably out there, but wouldn't it be neat if Wild Bill is saving the Mega Whirl from Coney Island? Considering the drawn out history that ride has and the fact that it won't likely ever be replicated, it seems like a perfect fit (although it doesn't have nostalgia on its side) for Wild Bill's Nostalgia Center! larrygator
^Before anyone else throws wild guesses out there expecting a response from me, remember this is not a guessing game.
