Photo TR : London to Hamburg via Bonn

Part 1 : London to Bonn

In mid-September this year (2011) I made the trip by train from London to Hamburg. I stopped off in Bonn on the way as, conveniently, it was going to be the final night of the Pützchens Markt. Join me in part 1 as I travel from London - Brussels on the Eurostar, Brussels to Köln on the ICE, and then Köln to Bonn on the IC.

This Belgian train doesn't quite seem real in this photo, even though it is in Liège.

Part 7 : Heide Park

You'll have to forgive my lack of photos for Heide Park - it was a really fun day and great to see Peter and Janine! We liked Krake - although it did seem like maybe it was missing one final element to complete the ride... Unfortunately Colossos wasn't running so well.

Part 8 : Hansa Park

This was my first visit and Hansa Park quickly became one of my favourite parks in Germany! Fluch von Novgorod must surely be Germany's second best coaster (after GeForce!) - the themeing was incredible, the outdoor section was really intense, and the indoor segment was also amazing! Morgan and I had an excellent time!

Welcome to Hansa Park!

Nessie Superrollercoaster - there was some excellent airtime on the drops when sat at the back! Plus we managed to ride the loop whilst Crazy Mine travelled through it!

It was my first visit to the North Coast of Germany - nice to see the sea from an otherwise land-locked country!

We had that too when we visited last year. They cross quite close too each other. Don't really remember whether we were sitting on Nessie or on the mine train when it happened

Great reports Robin !!

I've always wanted to go to Deutschland for a park/fair circuit. Every time someone posts a TR of something in Germany, I get that much more envious.

Despite my jealousy, what you lacked in length for your TRs you made up for with the shots; they look excellent!

I think new trains and also brakes will pop up sooner or later on more Schwarzkopf loopers - most of these are around 30 years old now and while the tracks will likely hold another 100 years the mechanics of trains and brakes are reaching their lifetime.

On the other hand - I was about a link to a refurbished Schwarzkopf train from the Gerstlauer website - but its no longer listed. So I guess it was sold in no time....
