Invertalon
Photos below from our visit to Aquatica and Discovery Cove. Both amazing parks, and we look forward to returning each time we go back down to Florida. Not a big TR writer, so on to the pics: For more, higher resolution photos check out my Flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/invertalon/sets/ Aquatica! This are so fun, especially this model. Beautiful Beaches. The normal slides have excellent air on the last drop, especially with two people. The smaller funnel tubes are alright, not the biggest fan of them. Signage Viewing for the Dolphin Plunge. The effect is not noticeable at all. Love the landscaping. The integrated fish displays along this river are a nice touch. Best lazy river ever. It is a "speed river", no tubes allowed. You basically get pushed at high speeds all around the loop. It is fun just to "foot surf" along the river. You will encounter rapids and fountains along the way. Kids area. One of two wave pools. Nap time Another day, when we got in for "early entry". They don't have one, but let us in early anyway. Had the place to ourselves for a solid hour and half with no waits. Toilet bowls Midway wee Airtime! Many times we totally lost it at this point and would have quite a rough "landing" Great slides! Speed river once again... You can also get life-vests and just float around. I wish more parks would get these rivers. They totally kill normal lazy rivers. Always fun to beat your fastest time! For guys out there, the best method to prevent "damage" during this part is raising slightly with your knees to lift your body. Prevents any pain. Safety First! This drop is awesome though. Totally surprised me. Next stop.. Lobby Inside Beautiful, of course. White sand beaches all over. Water is freezing, but the wet suit helps a bit. As well as the free unlimited beer. This was the lazy/exploration river... No fish, but it is warmer temp then the fish exhibit. They brought out various animals throughout the day. Including this owl. Very cool to snorkel around in this exhibit. I really enjoyed the entire day and felt it was worth it! Food was great as well they served throughout the day. One of the snack bars... Free ice cream, snacks, beer, soft pretzels, etc.. It's awesome. There is an aviary you can walk through as well. He was very chatty Dinner time! Colddd Oh yes, they had dolphins too.. Of course. They had about 2 minutes with the dolphin it seemed. We did not add on the Dolphins, and just did everything else. Much cheaper to do it this way. Live entertainment was nice! The rays were great... So fun to be able to interact with them. This concludes the TR!
cprocks22
Phenomenal pictures! It's really rare to get such high quality pictures of water parks, but these are fantastic! I really enjoyed Aquatica, even though the slides weren't as thrilling as some water parks, the whole atmosphere was wonderful. I wish I could've done Discovery Cove but the price kept me away..some day though.
eddytheviper
Steve, these photos are just fantastic. Can't wait to see any future work, amazing shots of Aquatica, it's like looking at the brochure again!
Meteornotes
Amazing photos. I still have not been to either park. I need to fix that. dt

Invertalon
We really enjoyed just how "lush" both parks really were, especially Aquatica. We spent a few days there and actually bought 2-year passes our last trip we enjoyed it so much even though we live in Ohio... It is a nice alternative to the other parks in the area to spend a day. Appreciate the compliments as well on the photos.
xmichellex
Great pics! I especially liked the bird pics, they are gorgeous! Hanging out in that lazy river would be so nice right now... it's already pretty cold up here in New England.

PriestofSyrinx
^ I agree. This should be in promotional material. Great pictures! I love how colorful the place is! Reminds me of Coral Reefs... I cant wait to go to Aquatica!! I might be moving down to Orlando soon, so I gotta hit up the water park Ive yet to go to!
gisco
One of the things I want to do sometime is go there and swim with the dolphins!
Hockeyman55
Awesome pictures Invertalon! What type of camera/lenses do you use?
KickTheSky
Per his flickr, Canon EOS 7D. Would also love to know what type of lenses, as those photos were great! This thread, or at least that photo album on Flickr, should be linked on their official website! I want to go BECAUSE of these pictures!
Invertalon
I currently use a Canon 5D Mark II... I was using a 7D before that. I mixed pictures from two separate trips that were a few months apart. During that time I switched camera bodies. Lens wise, my current collection consists of the 24-105 f/4L, 70-200 f/2.8L II, 135 f/2L and a 14mm f/2.8... During these photos, I also had a 17-40 f/4L for my 5D2 and 10-22 lenses (for 7D), which I no longer own. So quite a variety of lenses were used! Thanks again! Hockeyman55
^ I just caught the DSLR photo bug not that long ago. Was finally able to get up to Orlando to get some theme park pics just about two weeks ago and cant wait to get some more. I got the Sony A390 and came with a 18-55mm and 55-200mm then just got a 50mm f1/8.

RoCo
It's been said plenty already but I must add: gorgeous shots of two stunning waterparks. Professional work, all the way through. Quit your day job. Unless photographer is your day job. As an easy burner (redhead curse), I'm not a huge waterpark fan, but these two are impossible to resist. A.J.
I'm a big fan of the "speed river". Water Country USA has one, and it's quite fun.
Chroniq
I don't know... These are AMAZING photos, but they are just missing something. I can't put my finger on it..... ... I mean there is plenty of water... but.. I dunno.
nay
Great photos! I also love the rapids at Aquatica - I could spend hours there. Glad to see that you got to experience Discovery Cove as well. It's definitely cheaper not to do the dolphin swim and the other experiences are just as unique and awesome!
acq10uaz
I agree about Roa's Rapids! We got in early as well and had the place to ourselves for a while. We got everything done and then when we were on the racers the parking lot was filling up before our eyes. Thats when we decided to just spend the whole rest of the day in the rapids. They are so much fun. Great pictures, like everyone else has said. Aquatica is definitely a different type of water park. I loved it though. coastercrzyjames
Great photos of Aquatica. I really liked the park as a whole when I went last October, had an amazing time. And I agree about the Dolphin Plunge effect not being very noticeable, but a fun slide nonetheless. I really enjoyed the speed river during our visit, the group I went with spend at least an hour in there, fun times! It really is a well put together water park, thanks for allowing me to re-live some of my memories.
