David S
Hey TPR! Long time reader, first time posting... So on August 28th I went to Oakwood for my 15th birthday and had an awesome day! Lines were pretty short throughout the day so I was able to get many rerides . Megafobia: This CCI woodie was fantastic! The airtime throughout the ride was really good. The first drop provides some amazing ejector air in the back seat. The lateral g's were quite good as well... Overall Megafobia was a fun, intense, smooth, airtime filled coaster that is probably my #1 woodie right now. 8/10 Speed: This was my first Eurofighter and it did not disappoint me at all! The first two hills provided some amazing airtime, similar to Maverick's first 2 hills. Speed's loop and the heartline roll had some good hangtime. The helix is very powerful but not as strong as Goliath's at SFMM. I've heard some complaints that some Eurofighters are too rough but Speed was quite smooth with minimal head banging. 9/10 Total Ride Count Speed:20 Megafobia:4 Bobsleigh:1 Bounce:1 Treetops:1 Drenched:1 Now onto some photos... First ride of the day, Megafobia! Me next to my #1 woodie. NERD SHOT!! For all you lift hill enthusiasts... Some good headchoppers can be found on this ride... You could get really close to Megafobia using the paddle boats. And I mean REALLY CLOSE! My first ride on Megafobia (I'm on the left). Time for some photos of Speed . I loved this loop. This was my first vertical lift I've been on, it was very cool. I think I can, I think I can... The view from the top of the lift is great! WEEEEE While in line, a kid said that the ride speeds up during the MCBR... facepalm Wait for it, wait for it... TADA! My first ride on Speed (I'm on the left). Bounce was a pretty fun ride. You could get a great view of Megafobia from the top... Bobsleigh was fun but not worth the long, slow moving line. Sadly Waterfall was closed... I did ride Treetops for the credit... As expected, I got drenched on Drenched How about some more photos of Speed? TWISTY! NERD SHOT!! ANOTHER NERD SHOT!! This hill had some crazy ejector air! Thanks for reading my first Photo TR! tiger01
I'm glad you enjoyed the park! Megafobia is also my favourite woodie. That first drop is just amazing! Speed is a cool ride. Better than Saw in my opinion. When I went I missed Drenched. Oh well, maybe next time! Did you ride Spooky 3D?
gisco
Welcome to TPR! Thanks for sharing. I remember Oakwood as the first place I did a Skycoaster!
Tanks4me05
About time you got those pics up. You know I've been waiting for these for a while. Your skills with the camera are actually pretty good. I especially liked the photo where Speed's car was in the overbank, but you framed it so that it was in the center of the loop. I might try that out sometime in the future. It sucks that it was so cloudy that day, though. Some of those pics would have been dozens of times better if it were sunny. Moose
Thanks for posting this report. I loved megafobia though I'm not sure I'd describe it as smooth. How was the loading on Drenched? Does anyone know if they got new boats with the rename?
Midgetman82
Have you ever considered sitting to the left of your friend instead of the right?! Looks like a great park, and you had some fun. I remember my first Eurofighter (Dare Devil Dive), I guess it's not the same kind as the one you rode, but we can all agree that they're pretty much awesome! The one you rode is probably better though.

How was the loading on Drenched? Does anyone know if they got new boats with the rename? I guess I meant to say not too rough . Loading on Drenched was extremely slow... Thankfully I was on the second boat of the day . I'm not 100% sure, but I think Drenched did get it's new boats with the rename.Have you ever considered sitting to the left of your friend instead of the right?!Looks like a great park, and you had some fun. I do agree with you that Eurofighters are awesome!I'm glad you enjoyed the park! Megafobia is also my favourite woodie. That first drop is just amazing!Speed is a cool ride. I decided to marathon on Speed for the last hour the park was open .
simon8899
The Gerstelauer loops strongly remind me of the Schwarzkopf loops - well at Gestelauer work mostly engineers who got unemployed when Schwarzkopf KG went bancrupt....
StealthFan
Total Ride Count Speed:20 Thats actually quite impressive going on Speed 20 times in one day. I don't think I could do that on most rides let alone Speed. Glad you enjoyed your time at the park, did you manage to get on the bunny rabbit rave train ride? On the 2006 TPR trip, my daughter rode like 15 or 16 times in a row during ERT. That was way more then I rode.
