What's the worst station you've been in

Recommended Posts

Dreamworld's Cyclone is pretty bad... you spiral around the outside of the queue building (that used to be the exit) and after the train has come back from it's cycle the operator then walks a good 15m worth of useless tunnels to where your standing. You then walk through to the station and stand behind 1 of 6 doors for another minute or so before they open the doors to load the trains. The total time is generally around 10 minutes between dispatches. It's just so inefficient, hot and stuffy especially in the Australian summer. Such a useless design!

Agreed. It's terrible. For the amount of space that stupid cylindrical tower takes up, you'd think they would have solved the exit path intersecting the entrance path farce. The operators are slow also and make a bad situation even worse

^Yea.. I think all BTR clones have those steps leading up to the station. Theres nothing worse than being on those stairs, getting all excited and hearing "Ladies and gentlemen... May I have your attention please... The Riddler has hijacked the Batmobile and we must temporarily discontinue operations at this time"

This is off topic but do all of these rides break down frequently? The one at Great Adventure breaks down all the time. It's very rarely closed for an entire day, but for a B&M invert the amount of down time this ride has is insane.

Not so much the station, but the "cattle grid" queues at Portaventura during the summer months. Every time I've been to Portaventura during the summer months, the queues have just been unbearably hot, sticky and smelly in the Spanish heat. It can't cost much to just put an AC unit in the queue section (or maybe there is and I've just been unlucky every time).

I'm gonna have to go with nearly all the stations at CGA, except for the 2 that are covered. (Grizzly & Gold Striker)

They really need some shade coverage on the stations for the coasters here, especially on those hot days you literally bake in the line while waiting to get on.

I do know that the clone at SFOG has some type of glitch where releasing the advance/dispatch button too early will trigger a ride error... In my experience BTR is one of the more reliable coasters in the park. SMUF breaks down ALOT more than Batman. Especially when it starts to get cold...

^ Speaking of SFOG, the GASM station is outdoors and has ceiling tiles from 1972, just saying.

Yea... thats a badly designed station as well but at the same time the ride has had very little changes done since it opened 40 years ago, other than removing those levers used to brake the train and putting in a computer system and a control panel. That ramp that ques down to the station from the que house is out of place as well... they would have done better putting steps there. And im still trying to understand why they removed the chasing lights... but that has nothing to do with the station.

During my reign I remember begging my supervisors for a stool to sit on but they told me that I couldnt sit because people could see me from like 5 different angles. And its like the sun rises right behind the GASM. That sun is BRUTAL in the summer time.

Yeah those were nice, but a lot of the lights were blowing out and that made it look crappy on top of the really old look that the lights had. It was just time to get rid of them, but I liked them.

I don't know if you guys have never ridden it or whatever, but... Expedition Everest at Disney's Animal Kingdom. INCREDIBLE theming aside, it's VERY tight and compact, and the lines are so close together. The magnetic gates are so close to the line (the people are anyway) that you can hear EVERYTHING, and it's not pretty what you hear! When I went in August of 2012, as I was waiting for the front row, the guy behind me was PETTING my hair and asked "Wanna meet up with me sometime?" Now I just take the fastpass line.

I found this on Google Images, the people going left are the line, and you can see the metal gates. On a busy day, you can get right next to the lines. Scary Stuff!

Desperado at Buffalo Bill's in Primm, NV doesn't have the worst station, but I must note the "Air Gates of Death" the ride has.

It's on my FB page, but worth a share.

I remember them doing that back in 09 and commenting how sudden they were!

Even though X-Flight at SFGAm is my current favorite roller coaster, it has my least favorite station. There's nothing wrong with the boarding procedure or the theming. It's the annoying-as-heck recorded boarding instructions: "ATEEEEEEENTION! X-FLIGHT RECRUITS, WELCOME TO YOUR TOP SECRET MISSION X-FLIGHT!" I don't understand how anyone can stand listening to that.

Ah, yes! I remember those gates. Wonder how many kids have had their teeth knocked out.

I've always wondered why they didn't just lower the air pressure on those damn things!
