XII
All right. Next up on the Northeast Trip, we visited La Ronde in Canada. Now, I had visited this park before and I STRONGLY disliked this park, so this wasn't one of the parks on the tour I was looking foreword to. I was hoping that the park would have improved within 3 years, and if not, well at least I would pick up the remaining credits left at the park. While the park was better than my last visit, I still didn't really care for the park, as operations were still bad. Though being with TPR Friends always makes for a better visit to any park. Now onto the photos. All right. Next morning was interesting since almost everyone had a hangover from the Alcohol Exchange last night. I'm wondering how many people Robb pissed off by simply speaking (or to the hungover people, screamed) into the michrophone. Oh boy!!!! We're going to La Ronde today!!!! La Ronde actually took us through the back entrance and we parked the bus right beside Le Monstre. That was pretty cool. And our morning started out with Morning ERT on Goliath. Did I just go into a parallel universe because I'm at La Ronde and happy at the same time. La Ronde Goliath was just as floaty as I remember it. It's great for floater air, it's view of Montreal and saying "Wee!!!", but there are definetly much better coasters out there. "Not yet guys!!! The floater air doesn't come until the first drop!!!" "Shh. Don't tell Britney that I'm doing Canadian Coke ads with this other beautiful woman. I'm still trying to convert her to Veganism." Oh yeah. We also had ERT on Le Monstre. Hey. At least I'm not waiting 45 minutes for it like I had to last time. OMG!!!! SO BETTER THAN X2!!!!! *rolls eyes* See, these are some of the cool angles we were able to get due to the awesome location of our bus. Oh sh*t. Our ERT has ended and the La Ronde GP have rolled in. Yeah, this is more of the La Ronde I remember. Quick!!! Let's get the Wild Mouse credit out of the way before the insane crowds swarm it. *Phew* Just barely missed those crowds. Hello other TPR friends who got stuck way back there!!!! It was a lame mouse, but at least I got the credit this time!!! Continuing on with the theme of getting La Ronde credits I don't have, up next was the indoor coaster Dragon. It was a fun little indoor coaster. But definetly not worth the average 30-45 minute wait that it typically gets. Since my last visit, La Ronde has gotten the SLC from Six Flags Astroworld. Meh, for the Fastpass line, that doesn't seem so bad. This SLC was bad. REALLY BAD!!!!! While not quite as bad as Kong, it's still pretty damn wretched and not something I would want to ride again. Though I must admit, it does look nice over the water. Yes, you are reading that correctly. With the Q Bot waiting in that line you just saw a couple pictures up, it almost took us 31 minutes. 31 F*CKING MINUTES!!!!!! And we got there early in the morning before the crowds came. I heard other people with flashpass had to wait an hour with fastpass. Way to go La Ronde!!! All right. Time for the final credit I need here. Shockingly, Vampire actually had decent operations. They're nothing to brag about, but compared to Ednor and everything from my last visit, it was like being at a Disney Park. Dude!!! This ride KICKED ASS!!!!! Definetly the best Batman Clone I have ever been on. It was just so strong!!!! Oh yeah. And this Batman Clone has mist. Which really works well for this ride. Up next, we took a ride on what I consider to be one of the most underrated coasters of all time, Cobra @ La Ronde. Unfortunetly, Cobra really went downhill in the past 3 years. It's got more headbanging and seemed tamer in the 2nd Half. =( However, despite that, I'd still consider it to be one of the more underrated coasters since it's still a really good ride with a wild 1st half and of course, that pop of strong ejector air. I think I may have been the only person on the entire tour who really liked this ride. Sweet!!! Time for lunch!!! I wonder what they'll be serving us? Aww. While not bad, I do wish that we could've gotten some French Canadian Food that we can't get in America, but oh well. After lunch, we decided to head up into the observation tower to get some ariel shots of La Ronde. Yeah. Le Monstre may be a big ride, but it really doesn't do too much. Great ride in a great setting. I do have to admit that La Ronde does have one of my favorite settings of any amusement park. Yeah. We got on the Vekoma Corkscrew. Meh, it was nothing special. Aww. The Boomerang is clo...Wait, why the hell do I care? I have this credit. All right. Several things about this photo are awesome. First of all, they just sell hard liquor right on the midways of La Ronde. No American Park would ever even think of doing this so that's awesome. Second of all, in America, if you're like under 60, they'll card you. But here in Canada, they didn't even card me. I just got these shots, gave them my monopoly money, and gulped down two shots. I love Canada. Everyone start singing the Monorail Song from the Simpsons. Since we actually had time to kill, we checked out some of La Ronde's flat rides. Yeah, this park has a really good setting. I heard a lot of people calling this the greatest space shot they ever rode. And it's fun and all, but greatest Space Shot ever? Go ride Dr. Doom and then come talk to me. Yeah, the flats here don't have good operations as we had to rush back to the bus after overestimating how long it'd take to ride the parks breakdance. Hello Great Escape. We'll see you tomorrow. And for dinner, we had a private party at Unos. (Interesting little fact. I've only eaten at Unos twice in my life. Both of which have been THIS EXACT UNOS IN LAKE GEORGE NY!!!!! I also ate dinner here on another coaster trip not with TPR. Freaky.) Aww. The Oiho sign is now gone. =( See, it used to say Oiho. The dinner was freaking awesome. I love Unos. We need to get this chain in California NOW!!!! And after a great dinner, we went and had some fun inside Walmart (or should I say Almart). "Umm...Am I supposed to take these shoes or what?" This trip is really taking it's toll on me. Better make my blood pressure isn't gonna go through the roof. Up next, the Great Escape.

rcdude
La Ronde was a very interesting park with several things you'd never see in America, both good and bad. That whole day, I was really trying to like the park, and while it certainly isn't the worst park ever, there are just too many problems with the place, including some of the slowest operations and worst operators I've ever seen. I kept thinking, "Even by Six Flags standards, this place is pretty poor." Other than Goliath and Vampire, nothing there is really worth the waits they get, but I'm still surprised how much we were able to get done that day. It may sound a bit generic, but great report. Even two months later, I'm still looking back on this trip and remembering the general awesomeness of the whole thing. It's really too early for me to start thinking about next year's trip, and since my report's done I'm paying much more attention to other North East reports (always like to hear the opinions of others). How did everyone find the Untamed ride? I know some of the Eurofighters can become quite rough depending on the car. I thought Untamed was good, but not great. For a small park, it is an excellent ride, but at a larger park I probably wouldn't wait more than fifteen minutes or so for it. The ride is very short, and is a bit rough, though not horrible. The other Eurofighter I've been on (Mystery Mine) is much, much better, but the two rides are so different it it hard to compare them. Basically, I'd say Untamed is a must-ride if you visit Canobie, but definitely not worth going out of your way for. It is Canobie's best coaster, but I only enjoyed it slightly more than Yankee Cannonball.
XII
All right, next up was our day at the Great Escape. This was the final day of the official Northeast Trip, but there was still the Six Flags Great Adventure add on the next day, so I didn't have to go through the last day of the trip blues until tomorrow. Now, I had also visited the Great Escape before, so I had gotten all the credits, except for the kiddy coaster, which I got on the Northeast Trip. So this was a much more relaxed visit since I don't have to worry about whether certain rides are closed. And to make things better, we had a bonus park stop over at Magic Forest to go credit whoring, and as you know, we broke the kiddy coaster and made it roll back, as shown in Robb's video. Anyways, onto the photos. All right. We have arrived at the Great Escape. Just in case you forgot where we are. An hour of ERT on Comet @ the Great Escape!!!!!!! HELL F*CKING YES!!!!!!! Here's some info on Comet's origins in case you plan on being a coaster nerd and play coaster trivia. After the crazy Comet ERT, we decided to hit up the Alpine Bobsled. While it was fun and all, it was kind of uncomfortable due to all the braking the ride does. And let's not forget about the total lack of legroom. (JoAnna, we're doing this simply to torture you. *evil laugh*) Time to get the only credit that I didn't have at the Great Escape. Yeah. There's a lot of whoring going on here. This ride sucked. Even by kiddy coaster standards, this thing was a rough peice of sh*t. "I really wish my kids were with me. Then I could ride this without feeling so ashamed." All right. Lets take another spin on Canyon Blaster. I said it last time I was here, and I'll say it again. One of the lamest mine trains ever. Even the typical mine train helix ending is lame due to going into it right after the lifthill. Are we really in a Six Flags park? "Can you guys give me a loan?" "Hey Cody!!! We found your hat!!!!" I really wish I knew this back when I was in Canada. Do we really need to get on Steamin Demon today? Yeah. This ride is sponsered by Polly O Cheese. So yeah, now it's Cheese the ride. This ride got bad. REALLY BAD!!!! Last time, it was just lame, but now, it went from a stupid lame ride to an head busting horrible steaming pile of sh*t. Yeah. Those people are getting their heads cracked open right now. "Why oh why did I let my children partake in the Alcohol Exchange?" Hey, it can't be worse than Steamin Demon. This defiantly one of the better Boomerangs out there. Since my last visit, Great Escape got the S&S Towers from Six Flags New Orleans, which I must admit look really cool in the Great Escape. (See, EVERY PARK on this trip had an S&S Tower!!!!) Did I mention that this park is freaking beautiful? Wow. Great Escape is really giving away some seriously good prizes. Thank you for giving us such a good lunch witha wide variety of options Great Escape. All right. After lunch, I decided to take some more rides on this awesome awesome woodie known as Comet. You go through these turns so fast they almost feel like Wild Mouse turns. And there is just loads of airtime throughout the ride. Regardless of where you sit. Definetly come to the Great Escape and check out this awesome awesome ride. It's totally worth it. Single Riders Lines are always awesome. We really need more of these. We checked out the parks Music Express. And yeah, it was really fun. Group Photo on the Swan Boats. Yeah. We rode the Swan Boats and it was awesome. (Ok, maybe not awesome, but we had a good time and that's all that matters.) Frankies Mine Train from the Swan Boats. "Please put away the camera and just let us be ducks." Ooh. We're molesting the statue. Look how naughty we are!!! Speaking of molesting statues... Magic Forest was bonus park that we made on the Northeast Trip. And bonus parks are always awesome!!! While the park had plenty of statues to molest, we came here for... That's right. Credit Whoring. In a hilarious event, we actually broke the coaster. It kept rolling back since it couldn't support our fat asses. We literally had to kick people off to get the ride to work. As seen in Robb's Video. Yeah. We truely are sad and pathetic, and deadly to tiny little kiddy coasters. "Cut the pellet crap. Gimme your hat Shawn." *sigh* "The sooner we get into outer space, the sooner we'll get away from idiots like these guys." We had dinner that night at Carrabas. Yes, that is as good as it looks. *drool* I miss Carrabas. Why can't we get any here in CA? =( How many employees had to soil themselves for them to put up this sign? Six Flags Great Adventure photos will be up soon.
Jojo19799
Why was Canadian Nick torturing me? I can't figure that out. I'm sure there was a reason behind it. Anyway, seeing these pictures makes me miss everyone! I had such a great time on the trip. I can't wait to see the Great Adventure pics.
Jerrykoala2112
Can't believe you actually got the shot of me getting Canobie Maps! These reports are fantastic, I miss the trip too much!
XII
All right. Up next was Six Flags Great Adventure, and unfortunately, this was the last day of the trip. So while that was sad, the good news was that our day at Six Flags Great Adventure was simply fantastic! Well first off, El Toro is the best wooden coaster on the planet. Nuff said. Ok, there are some other wooden coasters that I haven't been on that look just as good, but El Toro is just so good. Why is it that there are only 4 Intamin Pre-Fab Woodies in the world? These things are so good that they could have 40 in the world, and that still wouldn't be enough. And second of all, the park treated us awesome. They gave us a boat load of ERT on many of their rides including Nitro, Dark Knight with the lights on, Green Lantern, first riders on Kingda Ka, and El Toro. But on top of that, the park took those interested in backstage tours on two back stage tours of Nitro and Kingda Ka. Both of which offered some truly incredible photo opportunities. And speaking of photos, you'll get to see those backstage photos as well as several others throughout the day down below. Unfortunetly, this was the last day of the trip. And during the trip, I kept all my wristbands on, so you can see just how much I collected. =( But the good news is that we get to end this awesome awesome trip at Six Flags Great Adventure. That's quite a skyline you've got there Great Adventure. Looking foreword to riding everything. We'll get to you later Green Lantern. Just in case you forgot where we are. Our morning started out with an hour of ERT on Nitro!!! Nitro is definetly one of the better B&M Hypers out there. And during this ERT session, they were running 3 trains. That's right. Three train operations during ERT!!! That's just f*cking amazing!!! Not only did we also have ERT on the Dark Knight, but we had it with the lights on!!! So it was really cool seeing all of the lights. And after our hour of ERT on Nitro & Dark Knight, we then got another half hour of ERT on Green Lantern!!! This morning just keeps getting better and better. If you ever wanted a coaster that was just literally the offspring between Mantis & Riddlers Revenge, it's totally Green Lantern. It's definetly the missing link in the evolution of B&M Stand Up Coasters. To make this morning even better, we got a bonus mini ERT session on Kingda Ka!!!! "Yeah. This morning is freaking awesome." Yeah. Kingda Ka is FAST!!!! Especially when you ride it in the very front row!!! But who gives a flying f*ck about Kingda Ka when we have EL TORO!!!!!!! "All right. Come oout and admit. Who's trying to turn El Toro gay? I know it was one of you guys, so just come on and admit it!!!" El Toro is without a doubt the best wooden coaster I've ever ridden!!! Oh yeah. I forgot. They have another woodie at Six Flags Great Adventure. "This ride was lame enough to begin with, but riding this after El Toro, wow is this a peice of flaming crap." Don't even pay attention to Rolling Thunder. Just focus on the Rolling Thunder Hill on El Toro and feel it's ejector airness!!!! "Hey!!! Don't laugh!!! It may be pink, but I've still got a freaking gun!!!" Hmm. Something about this ride seems familiar. While not nearly as cool as SFNE's Bizarro, this was still a really fun ride. And at least here, the fire actually works. Up next, we checked out the park's mine train. Most of the ride was really lame, but this little hill actually had a really good pop of ejector air. Yeah. They have one of these Tivoli coasters here as well. These small little coasters are actually kind of fun. While not nearly as weird as Lost Coaster @ Indiana Beach, Skull Mountain definetly qualifys as a total "What the f*ck" ride. Yep. We really rode it. Insert Credit Whores Caption here. Is it me or does it look like the Roadrunner is about to take a big dump on Wile E. Coyote? Yeah. Up next would indeed be Batman the Ride. It ran really well here. Definetly stronger than SFMM's Batman. "Check it out bitches!!! Six Flags welcomes us because we're special!!!" I must admit. Lunch was really good and better than average for a theme park. After lunch, the park took those into backstage tour on a really really cool backstage tour. Yeah. We got lots of awesome shots like this!!! "I'm going to film the crap out of this backstage tour." Our backstage tour took us under Nitro and got us some really really amazing shots. Like this one. Nitro shots are really hard to get due to it's isolated location going outside the park. But on the backstage tour, we got to film the crap out of it. Not many people can get this shot of the first drop. There's a decent pop of airtime coming off of the midcourse brakes. "I love Nitro. No seriously. I love and want to marry Nitro. Why else would I be hugging it?" Yet another awesome backstage shot of Nitro. Come back!!! We don't bite!!!! Ok, some of us do, but those are the type of people we ban!!!! Yeah. Nitros got some funky looking supports. Yeah. Six Flags Great Adventure looks nice and all. But we have more important things to do... Like go on a freaking Kingda Ka Backstage Tour!!! That's a lot of water coming from Kingda Ka. Um. Yeah. Kingda Ka is big. Really freaking big. Group Photo during the backstage tour. Kingda Ka looks *slightly* bigger when standing directly under it. Rolling Thunder from the Kingda Ka backstage tour. Kingda Ka crotch shot. That camelback at the end really doesn't do much other than slow the train down. Yeah, if you've ever wanted to see what a train going 128 mph on straight track looks like, your wish just came true. (I pity you if that really is your wish.) LOL at the girl in the third row. I simply just have to say thank you for putting on these backstage tours. They really were amazing. Time to get the final credit I need at Six Flags Great Adventure. Still not impressed by you Superman Ultimate Flight. Not even your pretzal loop wows me. Though it does look nice I must admit. Yeah. I miss Tatsu. Yeah. That washes the Ultimate Flight taste right off. Butt, say your good byes to your seat before...too late. It really is one of the best coasters of all time. Hey Gertrude. Doing some Goose Yoga I see. I decided to take another ride on Bizarro simply because that ride is really fun. While I do consider it better than Scream due to it's location and soundtrack, I still don't understand the it's so much smoother than Scream claims. They seem equal to me, as in neither of them are rough at all. Six Flags Great Adventure is one of few parks left with an old school parachute ride. I must admit, they are fun. I really liked the dining options at Six Flags Great Adventure. Why can't we have Teds Cheesesteaks and Nathans Hot Dogs at SFMM? Yeah. Six Flags Great Adventure also has the Houdini ride, which I must admit, really kicks ass. While I was on Green Lantern at Six Flags Great Adventure, it turns out that Cody was at Six Flags Magic Mountain riding Green Lantern, at the exact same time. So yeah. We rode Green Lantern at the same time from coast to coast. But then I went on El Toro. So I win. Yeah. ERT like this on one of the best coasters ever was insane. Words can not describe the awesomeness of this ERT session. And unfortunetly, this is the end of the Northeast Trip. =( Two months later, and I still miss it. It was definitely one of the best trips ever. Hopefully next year with Italy/Europe will be even better. Hope you enjoyed this Photo TR.
