Most Exciting 2012 Coaster...

Hey,

 

With a plethora of coasters coming next year, which coaster are you most excited about coming to next year? After searching I couldn't find a poll for the 2012 coasters (If one has been created please lock). I have limited it to Northern American and European parks since many people will never visit the Asian parks (I had real difficulty not including the Hi5 coaster at Happy Valley Wuhan). I think I have put all the main ones up, if not just say below.

 

I'm most excited about Swarm at Thorpe Park, because it is the only big coaster announced for the UK next year.

Skyrush, followed by Leviathan, Superman SFDK, and Verbolten

 

Skyrush sounds like it could be one of the world's top 20 steels if it get's the right amount of Intamin love. I'm sure leviathan it going to do great as well.

Skyrush. I could easily see it in the Top Ten of next year's Mitch Hawker Poll, Intamin airtime machines are always a great thing.

X-Flight. It's being placed at my home park, so it's something I plan on riding. Also, it's our last major addition in 2003, so I've very excited for it

SkyRush. By FAR. SkyRush has the best combination of new ideas, a -phenominally compact- layout, airtime hills, gravity curves, and most important of all...

 

It's at HersheyPark, the SWEETEST place on earth!

Skyrush only because there's an extremely good chance I'll be able to ride it next year, whereas the rest I probably won't.

 

Taking that out of consideration, Leviathan intrigues me the most.

It's Leviathan for me. Ignoring the fact that it is at my home park, I am very intrigued by B&M entering the giga market.

Well, it'd say for me it's bit of a tie between X Flight and Superman, but I'll give the edge to X Flight because I know I'll be able to ride that next year (but hopefully Superman too!)

 

Dollywoods is a close second, but Im sure that'll either drop or rise when we see the full layout.

There are so many good choices already, and without knowing all the details for many of the coasters coming out next year, I am going to wait to answer with my ABSOLUTE favorite. That said, I am really excited to see how Leviathan, Skyrush, and Verbolten though!

Until I know the full details of Verbolten and Dollywood's coaster, I'll refrain from voting, but those might be among them (especially Dollywood's). Others I am excited by include...

X-Flight for obvious reasons, but also Leviathan looks pretty sick and I'm excited to see how 300ft. goes for B&M.

I voted Verbolten because it's closest to me, and the indoor part intrigues me. I tend to have a lot of fun with family coasters lately. (Spinning mice, mid-sized woodies, etc)

 

I am also excited about Apocalypse (I like the new colors, and it's another standup to add to my count), Dollywood's new coaster, X-Flight and Skyrush... In reverse order.

I'm embarrassed to say it, but I'm really excited for Goliath. I loved Deja Vu, it was one of my favorites at Magic Mountain, and now it's coming to my home park. I could care less if Flashback is already there, it's a darn good ride!

But so far, for me it's between Superman Ultimate Flight at SFDK, X Flight at SFGAdv and Leviathan at CW ... all of which I hope to ride next year.

SFDK's Superman, followed by Leviathan and X-Flight (because its at my local Six Flags).

SFDK wins for biggest out-of-nowhere surprise. It's like Premier took the Maurer Skyloop and decided "yeah, we can do this better". That final non-inverted loop could be heaven or hell. Also, SFGAm. Great and long-awaited marquee addition and the only one I'm actually expecting to ride next year.

 

Dollywood and BGW have yet to fully take the covers off their projects though, so it doesn't seem fair to rate them yet.

 

And Leviathan... is it wrong to be underwhelmed? I dunno, I just expected more of B&M's first Giga. Why are they so afraid of overbanking?

Afraid of overbanking? Have you looked at the renderings of Leviathan?

While I did expect more from Leviathan, I still think it'll be the best addition in 2012 just because of the fact that it's the first B&M coaster to exceed 300ft. Skyrush is a very close second for the new seating arrangement, although I think it'll somewhat be similiar to B&M prototype seats, and the potentially amazing Intamin airtime.

Afraid of overbanking? Have you looked at the renderings of Leviathan?

 

Yeah, I'm apparently blind to the turnaround, but I watched the POV again and that's the only one... then again, Intimidator 305 has no overbanks and that's like experiencing nirvana, so I'm just gonna shut up.
