jedimaster1227
Now that Summer is in full force (you can tell by the terrible heat here in Florida), many of the state's many seasonal offerings have kicked into gear, including SeaWorld Orlando's Summer Nights. And while it wasn't my first time visiting during this event, it was my first time giving some of the shows a try (besides Shamu Rocks, which I've always enjoyed). While I've never been a "show person" myself when it came to the parks, lately I've found a growing appreciation for in-park entertainment, especially at SeaWorld. So, with that in mind, I gave Sea Lions Tonite! and Reflections a go! I am happy to report that SeaWorld Orlando also sells the lemon slushies that I raved about at Discovery Cove. Even better, the park sells slushies in other flavors. I tried Watermelon later in the day, and it was amazing! Surprisingly, we were able to walk in five minutes before One Ocean's last show of the day... I can't explain it, but I really do love this show! This was a first for me... I saw Clyde & Seamore take Pirate Island a few years ago, and was fine after that. I, along with those who I was with enjoyed this show much more. Mime humor. "Vassup!" This is the most inaccurate representation of a tourist ever... He's not wearing a fanny pack. Sea Lions Tonite! is essentially the Bill & Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure of SeaWorld Orlando. They parody the park's many assets in whatever way they can. Not up to the height requirement? Fixed! The Manta parody was decently entertaining. Pretzel loop! No show is safe here... They made fun of the male lead's intro from Blue Horizons... Tastefully accomplished! Not sure why she jumped... Hardy har har. Honestly, the parody itself was more enjoyable than the real show (A'lure I mean). Much more entertaining. I'll give credit where credit is due. This is genius. It seems they actually updated the show to reflect the addition of One Ocean to the park's lineup (and the removal of Believe). Time for some Shamu Stadium-style dancing! Recreating the mother and child scene from One Ocean. This is not going to end well... So many amazing things going on here... Shamu chant? You're doing it wrong. One Ocean fountains? Nothing is safe from parody in this show. ... Haven't been on this in a while... Somebody doesn't want to be on screen. Star Tours will also take you to the planet of Melbow. Broadcasting live from District 9... Here we go! Just keep swimming! New to this year's version of Shamu Rocks, the new set enhancements from One Ocean have been integrated into the show. Um... Um... This band is rockin' way too hard! Orca overload! Never ceases to amaze! Recreating the One Ocean logo! Oh, and the show now has fire! Minor note: Killer whales can also make star bursts in mid-air. Eruption! Incoming! The new water jets are also in the show... Awesome! Tilly! Pre-show entertainment just jamming out before Reflections. Time to start experimenting with my camera... jedimaster1227
(Continued) In the interest of not boring you with fluff, these next photos will be (mostly) presented without comment. "And the rockets red glare... The bombs bursting in air..." Fear lives!

Hilltopper39
Great report Adam, I used to love the Summer Nights event at SeaWorld, even on a packed Saturday Manta and Kraken were usually no more than a station wait. Nice to see that they updated the Sea Lions tonight Show to include the new Shamu One Ocean show parody,. Sea Lions Tonight was a lot of fun, much better than the usual Clyde and Semore show. Six Flags Enthuseast
Good report! I went to SWO in February and I had a great time, but these new shows look fantastic! I caught the Believe show; disappointing after it had to be toned down. The new One Ocean show looks great, and the Clyde & Seamore seemed to be great as always. If only I could've gotten a frozen lemonade...
Lucas.Almeida
Good photos! That's cool, made me very miss. I'm from Brazil and I was in Orlando in January and unfortunately these shows had not happened overnight. Too perfect. I can not wait to go again! Topdrag
I think I recognize a photo or two of those. It was great meeting up with you at the park a few weeks ago Adam. Did you go Saturday night as well for the fireworks that night or was it after that? I ended up going to the park a few times while down there in Orlando. Anyways I look forward to moving down soon! jedimaster1227
Theme Park Review was invited to SeaWorld Orlando once again, this time to experience Summer Nights, the park's late-night offering held every day during the Summer period. While it wasn't my first time at the event (this year or previous), it was a great opportunity to experience the event even more than I had previously. Equipped with tickets, Quick Queue Unlimited and some Shamu Bucks, all compliments of SeaWorld, we spent the evening taking in one of my favorite parks, and as always, there were lots of photos to be had! SeaWorld Orlando hooked us up with some amazing perks for the event! Quick Queue Unlimited, Shamu Bucks and comp tickets! And while I can't seem to master my self portrait face today, I did of course get myself a lemon slushie! Over at One Ocean, they are still playing an ad for Cheetah Hunt in the preshow loop. It is almost like Samantha knew TPR was here! Hello and lala! I hope you enjoy this report! One more of these photos for good measure... But this time, it is in portrait instead of landscape. Edgy? Sure, but baby, I was born this way. I know what you're thinking. "Why are we seeing One Ocean photos when this is a Summer Nights report?" Well, SeaWorld gave us those new Summer Nights tickets I mentioned earlier which allow admission into the park after 3:00 pm. One Ocean has a show running after 3:00 pm, so it fits! I have a request... Do a barrel roll! If anyone remembers, this used to be the Busch eagle topiary. Time to show my appreciation for Dave. In the sequel to Deep Blue Sea, Thomas Jane's character creates sharks that are spliced with frog DNA. They then take over the local aquatic theme park and take down Dennis Quaid. I feel like I've seen this movie before... "The shark still looks fake." DAS SHURKE! Notable: The retired mechanism for the Shark Encounter dives is still in place despite being replaced by the new SeaVenture experience at Discovery Cove's The Grand Reef. In case you were wondering where TPDave could really fill his offer... TPharmacy. That is quite a talent! They've taken the area normally occupied by the Waterfront fountains and put in a well themed stage. Awesome! Just an itch... The penguins at Penguin Encounter are also experience Summer Nights. They are currently in a simulated Arctic Winter. We rode Journey to Atlantis and got a little more wet than normal... I wasn't thrilled. Lunch and dinner! "Gar! I'm a Kraken! Now give me some candy!" "That'll do." I know its a little hard to make out considering it is so dark at Summer Nights, but Kraken is open late for an after-dark riding experience. Sea Lions Tonight was even better than the last time I saw it. It seems the team has hit their comedic groove and had the audience crying by the end of the show. Very clever! I missed this detail from the last show. The Blue Horizons parody is truly spot on! We're just as confused as you. Goodness... Far more impressive! The theme of the show is "Why see other SeaWorld shows when Clyde & Seamore can do EVERYTHING the other animals do?" I'm seriously not kidding. Not saying anything... The mime had people roaring at each act. The A'lure parody was also extremely clever! Skillz. To be honest, I've never seen Shamu jump through a hoop. "I am not an animal!" I feel your pain... Thanks to the addition of the One Ocean segment, the show is being advertised as a brand new show. Then the walrus came out. He wasn't featured in the last show I had seen of Sea Lions Tonight, so his appearance was a pleasant surprise. Such an amazing creature! And it wouldn't be a One Ocean parody without fountains! See? I do photograph animals besides whales and dolphins! YMCA was a recurring joke for the show... The show concludes with a sing/dance along. The gauntlet's been thrown! jedimaster1227
(Continued) Preshow entertainment for Shamu Rocks involves highlighting the crowd on the big screen. Some love the attention, others freak out! This channel isn't included on DirectTV. SeaWorld secretly partnered with the Reagan-era White House to bring Project Star Wars to life. True story bro. The audience around me cheered so loudly for this... A variation on the previous shot. Shamu Rocks is still my favorite Shamu show! And the maneuvers still impress! Incoming! Oooh! The fountains and sets from One Ocean have been integrated into the Shamu Rocks show, which is a great plus for those who saw the show in previous years. Body slam! I don't think I've noticed the monitors arranged like this before. Van Halen's Eruption? Epic. I'm only happy when it rains. "You're takin' a dive!" Name that reference. Fire! Tilly! For you logo lovers. After Shamu Rocks it was time to make our way to Summer Nights Central! For those of you of age, there is a new Beer Garden this year that offers samples of over 20 beers from around the world. $25 for general guests with a $5 discount for passholders. This is the same area from Bands, Brew & BBQ as well as the Christmas event. Looks like the party's going well! SeaWorld does it right! Best walk-around character EVER! The Waterfront's DJ booth was a popular spot as well. As with the other fireworks photos, I'll silence myself until you've seen them all. And the finale filled with 'splosions! One for the artsy collection. Reflections also uses color changing fountains... Some love for Larry. If you're in town, come check out Summer Nights at SeaWorld. It really makes this wonderful park even more fun during the Summer! Thanks again to SeaWorld Orlando for having us at the park and for treating us so well! And thanks for reading!
