Real
^ It was just a joke based on this thread. Your pics are really good. haha, I've been so busy that I haven't kept up with all the threads. lol @ that first solid yellow bolded font... Holy crap...that thread is amazing! Good thing I have some actual photography background through my college as well as a few years now researching, taking criticism from photogs and having a few friends on FB who are professionals who I regularly browse their stuff and comment and ask questions. Good joke now! LOL sorry that one buzzed my head. I love Hanno's work, definitely someone with a great eye. I hope to add to his awesomeness here and ultimately, it would be awesome if once I get a solid number of photos that Cedar Fair would use my stuff for promotion. Considering its all their property anyways, might as well say my stuff is being used right?! I try to combine my knowledge of coasters, how they are built, designed and the nerd side with the fun side and come up with pictures that enthusiasts are like "WOW That looks awesome!" and then just a general person thinks "man, that makes me want to ride it!" My general goal each time I go out and shoot. I should send em my batch of windseeker shots. Pretty sure no ones taken any like those yet (well, that I've seen!) Thanks for the comments and I WILL take criticism in stride. In fact, only means my stuff looks better next time around. Pretty humbled that this thread made the front page, didn't expect that! So if you have suggestions to make certain photos better OR, suggestions in general for pictures around the park, tell me here. Ill see what I can do. I'm sure there are lots of you out there with these "I wish there was a picture of _____" but for whatever reason haven't seen or gotten it. Maybe I can. Its worth a shot. XYZ
Really good pics. It would be nice if you had more of a variety of rides.
Real
I was only there for 3-4 hours. I plan to do this for every ride there by the end of the year. aka comprehensive gallery.
braztaz
I think this is my favorite! I don't know why but it is!
mightbeawannabe
^Well to start with the track's doin' this sexy twist for us. Like an architectural lap dance.
Real
There will be plenty more shots like that. Cool thing is being able to zoom in on sections of track like that to single it out. My goal is to photograph each ride and get as many shots of the track itself. Like the above picture. Then lots with riders. Sort of like someplace you can look at every aspect of a ride. Take the whole thing in in incredible detail. Thats why these were just examples. But I threw in the shot above as well as the wheel assembly and front of Maverick. The wheel assembly is pretty sweet too.
coast4airtime
I just left Cedar Point this morning. I must say, these pictures do the ride justice. They are amazing!
1badgmc
I have a 40D that I love, but I sure do need some good glass for it. That 100-400L would be a nice addition. I'll likely never get any shots so cool from a park. My theme park visits are so few and far between that I don't even bother bringing the 40D since I'll be concentrating on riding and don't want to have to worry about the camera. I just bring a good P&S that will fit in a cargo pocket and take what I can get.

I just bring a good P&S that will fit in a cargo pocket and take what I can get. That was me for awhile but I bought a sling pack (That whenever I get another piece of glass...Ill have to retire - the 100-400 barely fits!) that makes it easy and discreet. Hopefully Saturday night or Sunday well have another huge update. Im going to focus on as many as I can, but I am looking focus on Raptor, Wicked Twister (Might as well do Windseeker day photos while Im over that way) and if I get lucky, Mantis. Nice, colorful rides. Forecast calls for partly cloudy and 86. Im hoping less cloud and more sun. Also going to try and be there first thing so I can take advantage of the BEST time for coaster photos, morning! Sun's light always gives me the best colors and lighting conditions. Real
Double post...but heres 42 of around 80ish photos. Other 40 I need to edit tomorrow. I need sleep. Its been an incredibly busy weekend. I had requests for other coasters (duh... I was getting there) and I included more "coaster porn" shots of track shaping. Again, this is all me being very new with this lens and its taking some time to learn its ins and outs. What it likes and doesnt like. Annnnnd Busted! Yamez
*Love* the pictures. They emphasize the need for some paint jobs and powerwashing on Raptor and Dragster though
Real
*Love* the pictures. They emphasize the need for some paint jobs and powerwashing on Raptor and Dragster though I think at least both are winter jobs. I would NOT want to repaint Intamin track. Getting inside all that box and tri track has got to be a nightmare. Im sure (hope) its sprayed on but yea... Its also interesting just how much detail this lens gets on the rails. Theres some interesting patterns and detail on the running rails. I spent some time looking at that for awhile. Probably why I didnt get these done. I think the last batch of photos is more corkscrew, Dragster and Mantis. Youll notice more and more panning pictures. Those are my favourite because ALL of the blur is camera created, I am NOT photoshopping blur into ANY of the panned pictures. I absolutely LOVE it when they turn out. braztaz
That second picture of Raptor is my favorite. All of them are fantastic though. Great job again!
Real
Forgot to add...if anyone wants one of these in a Background, I can get your resolution and make it into a sweet background with a ride logo (or not...let me know) and anything I use Ill gladly make something specific for your computers resolution. If you want ride slogans, your own text, let me know. Id be honored to know my stuff sits on someones desktop so dont be afraid to ask! PM me details. I work pretty quickly when Im home and I can turn around a product pretty fast. I wont do too much touch up to the actual photos. Maybe letterbox it, frame it, etc for whatever your resolution needs are.

Real
That picture has become my desktop and my Google.com background. I had a request for it as a background and man, it sure does look nice. Its inspired me to start looking for more angles like this around the park.
coastermaniac
These are some great shots. I, too, try to take some good pictures around the park but these just blow mine away.
Real
Nice profile pic there cmaniac. Stickin with just track pictures eh? Just added IOA, HP and GL pics. Not a bunch, this isnt like "heres 50 pics of each park" simply because I only select the ones I feel are worth a darn to put up. Then on top of that, these are old. Some are 6 years old. Just goin through my old stuff, finding new ones to add to the gallery. Check em out here: https://picasaweb.google.com/107203122441051099654 Remember, within Picasa when you click on a picture, you can click the magnifying glass just upper-left of the photo to zoom in, then zoom in to actual size. grab the picture with left mouse and look around. Lots more detail in there.
coastermaniac
Thanks; for some reason I like the way track looks and I think they make good profile pics!! Great photos once again; I especially enjoy the Six Flags/Geauga lake pics because that was my home park. :/
Real
I know. It makes me shed a man tear. I love my twice a year trips to GL to ride Dominator and X-Flight. Villain was rough but I enjoyed it as well. Big Dipper was always fun. I enjoyed that park. Dominator looked SO much better at that park than where it is now IMO. As you can see, the color scheme combined with the surrounding foliage - awesome. Going to CP today for pictures. Not sure how long Ill stay. Feeling nauseous but absolutely bored. Was supposed to go to a practice fire exam session but I have a feeling the way I feel inside, intense physical training wouldnt work out well. Today seems mild (I guess 88 is mild next to 102) and the skies are clear.
coastermaniac
I did love riding the coasters at GL as well. From the pics I've seen of Dominator at its 'newer' location, it looked better at GL. I really miss the park with all its great rides/coasters.
