Ok! I'm sorry guys for the lack of updates yesterday but here we are today with a full photo review of Divertical!

First thing I have to say is that we all must keep in mind that this is a FAMILY WATER COASTER designed for a target made of familes with 8 - 10 years old kids. With this in mind I can start with the photos!

Here we are! Welcome to Divertical!

02.jpg.ad9ed7432a7d0db343f33b192da2591d.jpg

From the outside it looks very cool! I really like the colors!

The tower is really impressive! Also you can see that right now most of the area is empty and the theming is very minimal!

Testing!

Divertical's SUPER SHOP looks very minimal too!

Awesome restraints!

Yes, it looks really good from here!

Looks like they are finally starting the opening ceremony!

If you are not familiar with Mirabilandia, these guys are from the Police Academy stunt show!

Do I really have to comment this photo?!

He's one of the winners of the TV show Italia's Got Talent!

Time for the official opening!!!

13.jpg.0fe6996060600c454ca9d7e1b5aaf888.jpg

Here's the very first boat of the day and it just got stuck on the lift tower thing! Great.

"Intamin, we've got a problem!"

15.thumb.jpg.87acec88bb1197d1df9a09d69273518d.jpg

More testing!

16.thumb.jpg.d86278ba10702402bee7f2269fd5fc69.jpg

Splash! Yes, you get soaked in there. No kidding!

17.jpg.ce5c4e5c7ef14c82587442cf46b78de2.jpg

Finally we get a chance to ride it!

18.jpg.5c759717cbd9a33ffb447039c63d39bb.jpg

The lift tower thing feels a lot faster when you are on it! Also the view all around is amazing!

19.thumb.jpg.1c608207533e044a47f3c15637d1316a.jpg

The drop is really strange because you slowly accelerate to a pretty decent speed which feels great.

20.jpg.f45d84f26d676b63447c46d18d5468e6.jpg

After quickly skimming the water there's this hill which has absolutely no airtime at all.

21.jpg.d23da91e497610817e5232b4bf84ed9e.jpg

The actual coaster part is just slow and forceless but we have to keep in mind the target! The positive side is that at least it's smooth!

22.jpg.543f5d71b82a32989d2d96069f1f7194.jpg

Another view!

This boat is dedicated to the deceased Motogp racer Marco Simoncelli! He was the one who officially opened iSpeed in 2009. I really miss him.

AIRTIME!!!

This is the end of the first part! I'll soon post more AWESOME photos!

Please fost your comments and questions!

A bit of review first: Diverticla is a good family coaster. If you are looking for something extremely thrilling or forceful, go ride Katun, iSpeed and don't complaint.

The lift tower thing is impressive to see and really cool while onboard. As I said before it feels faster than it looks. The drop isn't quite the usual drop because you don't feel like falling but you just slowly accelerate to quite e good speed. Than there's the water element which delivers a strange out of control feeling because you expect some splash and instead you just float at full speed over it. The airtime hill which follows has no airtime but on a family friendly ride it can be accepted. The rest is just a series of slow turns leading into the final water splash which really delivers a good amount of water over the riders!

Lets get back to the photos!

Can anyone explain how the train remains on track. Especially on the first drop.

There are no side wheels, who keep the train on the track.

Only after the first drop the side wheels have a rail to guide.

I would imagine it has something to do with the central flat rail. Looking at videos where you get to see the underside of the train, it looks as if there are two wheel assemblies, at the front and back of the car, that grip on to the central rail. Obviously this is fine in a straight section with no laterals, but when there are corners, the side wheels need to be utilised, hence the change in track type. This may be wrong, but from observation it appears to be the answer.

You don't need side wheels on a straight drop, there are no lateral (side to side) forces. Only once you're turning the train do you need them.

DiVertical have now been open for a few seasons now, how have the reliability of the ride been? (for you locals who know).

Anyone more who have been on it who can share their experience?

From what I remember the ride got some fairly good reviews when TPR visited, at least that is the vibe I'm getting from watching the TPR POV of it.

Do you think more should be built?

Would be awesome to hear some more thoughts about this ride!

Honestly the ride surprised me a huge amount. I didn't think it would be much but it really was a fun ride. I for one wouldn't complain if more were built!

Hello, I'm Italian. Divertical has a very bad reputation for theme park fans in Italy.

since the opening has always had problems. if you were lucky you would find it open.

this year it was blocked months ago in the helix with people on board and from that day was always closed.

we'll see next year if it is open or not.

ALL theme park fans in Italy nicknamed "The WC"

Hey guys,

As we discussed before, Divertical has a lot od technical issues, but it still is a good coaster, just not worth the money I think. Last year people got stuck on the last helix just after the mid-course break run and the coaster was closed for the year.

This year they installed some additions to the support structure beside the track (those blue things that are attached to orange supports): 11038475_962787510421165_5829315450407003265_n.jpg?efg=eyJpIjoibyJ9&oh=dc7fd553c7ca1baa2beecb0d45e7f7a2&oe=55FC7A3F

Anyone know what this is and what is supposed to do/why they installed it there? Coaster is not yet opened in this season but it is expected to open in June according to Mirabilandia fan page.

Could be, but they didn't build anything else besides this, that's it as far as I know. Maybe it's for some sort of cable so they could easily pull the car if it gets stuck again, but this seems rather strange. Mirabilandia said on facebook that they are going to open it some time in June so I guess there won't be any more additions.

Does anyone know (or assume) why the brakes (wheels) are actually slowing down the train there? I think that the coaster was faster in the first season after mid-course brakes section, now (last season) it seemed that the train was slown down in the brake section. It wasn't fast even in the first year, there weren't any airtime on the last hill.

I was in the park last saturday and here are some detailed pictures of the additions to the Divertical. I guess it's a motor with a hook that can be used to pull the train if it gets stuck again. The rods on the other supports could be used to hold the wire (or whatever they will use to pull the train) depending where on the track the train gets stuck. Or they could be used for some kind of platform for the people to get down, but I'm not sure about that. Anyone have any other idea?

The section after the MCBR is what I'm talking about:

This is the motor:

And this is all that has been added (a motor and the blue thingies on the existing orange supports):

I made a short video with 60fps and slo-mo clips of some rides in Mirabilandia if you are interested to watch. It's nothing special, just some wheels turning, people screaming and wheels assembly turning in slo-mo, fun stuff if you are into rollerocasters (watch in fHD 60fps for the full effect - coasters are awesome in 60fps)

I think you are right that the other blue things are so that the cable sort of follows the curve of the turn, otherwise if the car is a long way back from the motor the cable would be pulling it to the side rather than forwards. Love the slooooowww moooo

Hey Guys! Last week or so, I found this interview Parksmania did with the park's manager. He said that for 2016 they will be adding a new Western themed area with three new rides, and then in 2017 they will be spending over 8 million euros on a new large roller coaster. He just said it will be nothing like we've ever seen before.

The video is here (good luck understanding anything if you don't know Italian ) :

Well... thoughts?
