Silvia Forghieri
Some days ago Mirabilandia opened Ghostville, its news dark ride. Theme is very good and there are some special effects. The hourly capacity is 1000pph. As announced by Giancarlo Casoli in the interview with Parksmania.it , during the 2008 Mirabilandia could present an other new dark ride, bigger than Ghostville. A video and a short transcript of the interview are available here Edited April 21, 2011 by larrygator

Swimace
Wow, I wish some American parks would build more modern dark rides like this. That looks like a lot of fun
robbalvey
See pics over at: http://www.theparks.it/tpdb/park.php?idPin=13&idP=2&lang=it Not too sure why they were on again/off again about the addition of this ride, but there it is!

Cerberus
Awesome! And it looks a lot better than I imagined it was going to be. Nice colours. Not sure if that's some sort of theming being put around it or not, but it could be...
kennywood!007
Ya the colors are a great choice, I like the names this park gives its rides, don't know why, but I think they all sound soo cool!
Luxo
How much are plane tickets to Italy? First smiley face pizza, now this! It's always good to see a classic ride return...I hope it has aged well.
DenDen
http://schwarzkopf.coaster.net/OKkatapultGF.htm http://schwarzkopf.coaster.net/ESkatapultGF.htm Looks like a more modern design than the catalog version. Check out the pics at the above site. It does look fun.
DerekRx
This will they won't they thing must be a trend for the year. First Conneaut Lake, then LeSourdesville, and now this. Glad to see this ride actually going to open, hopefully the other parks with confusion will turn out for the best too!
QueerRudie
Perhaps this is a great trend to the preservation of classic steel rides... I can only hope other parks regain an admiration for the great design and thrills of a basic, non-elemental steel ride. Less is more, my friends. Less is more. DragonKhan
The ride was always going to be opening, but the opening was delayed. Originaly it was scheduled for 2006, but then they delayed it to 2007 so the can make some adjustement or whatever. A flatride was the placeholder until it got ready. Tmcdllr
I've never been on a Katapult, looks like fun. Does it go forwards and backwards like a shuttle loop? How does it pick up enough speed to get through the loop?
viking86
If you look at the pictures in the link in the first post, you will see that there are friction wheels to bring the coaster train around most of the track. The top of the loop is the only part without wheels.
verticalzero
Great news another Schwarzkopf coaster has been saved. Anyone got a pic of the whole layout...? Is it like a "Shuttle Coaster" e.g. Thunderlooper from ex Alton Towers I read there were only a few madebuilt, which other parks have one of these.? viking86
The layout couldnt have been more simple http://www.rcdb.com/ig949.htm?picture=2 . Its kinda like a powered looping coaster. Here you can find some info about the Katapult coasters that were made http://www.rcdb.com/model47.htm
RCfanatic
Yay!, So they ARE going to build the Katapult-coaster! That's great, i've always wanted to ride one of these, but since they were almost exstinct... ...Gotta know your classics! Anyway its great Mirabilandia is building this! I just wonder what the ride will be like and how many times it goes thru the loop...
Jon Sabo
Katapult now open??? Here is a link to some photo's: http://www.theparks.it/tpdb/park.php?idPin=13&idP=2&lang=it Video-POV: http://www.theparks.it/index.php?lang=it This has to be one of the shortest coaster rides I have seen (not counting local fairs), but I wouldn't mind having one in my backyard!! RCoasterny
I saw the video. I was disappointed. Hope it will take a programming tweak to get it to run longer, or even backwards!
