jynx242
The 2012 operating schedule has been posted to our website: Six Flags Over Georgia. Before anyone freaks out, the October/Fright Fest schedule is still TBD and will be posted soon! Thanks! I'm already looking forward to my annual Easter Sunday visit! Stoked about theCyclone news. I've always loved it, but I swear - last time I rode it I though the wheels might have actually been square
Hilltopper39
I rode Cyclone at Deep South bash and thought it was awesome, a little rough yes but not as rough as some people have said. Regardless the topper track should be an improvement.
SharkTums
^ Woohoo! I've said it a thousand times this year, you guys are the best park in the chain, and with the exception of Mexico, I've been to all of them! Very much agree! And about Mexico...well, at some point, we'll get enough of us together, get the Kidnapping Insurance, armed escorts, and go for it! (Only half kidding)
jedimaster1227
So...Water Challenge on Cyclone for next years Deep South Bash!?!? I hereby forfeit.
Erik Johnson
I sure hope that there is a water challenge on Cyclone next year....though Ninja might prove to be a bit more interesting.

And about Mexico...well, at some point, we'll get enough of us together, get the Kidnapping Insurance, armed escorts, and go for it! (Only half kidding) Wait. If there's kidnapping insurance, how am I going to get Thriller back home to the USA? So...Water Challenge on Cyclone for next years Deep South Bash!?!? I hereby forfeit. Ditto for me... ^ Woohoo! I've said it a thousand times this year, you guys are the best park in the chain, and with the exception of Mexico, I've been to all of them! SFoG is to me on par with the best parks on earth. Genuinely the best park experience I've had in years- and it casts a huge pile o' shame on the other SF parks in the system that SFoG is so good... and others are so bad! Looking forward to seeing y'all soon enough too. (I'd tell you to say "Hi!" to Mindbender for me, but then you'd think i was nuts...)

acq10uaz
Coming in 2012, Six Flags Over Georgia will introduce all-new shows that will light up venues across the park, including iLuminate, a ground-breaking show in the dark featuring light-up costumes and special lighting effects. Looks like iLuminate is the name of one of the new shows this year. There is more information about it on sixflagsjobs.com as SFOG is casting for the show. Any TPR members gonna try and audition? http://www.sixflagsjobs.com/dynamicparkpage.php?park=overGeorgia&page=auditions Also on the jobs site it mentions they will be casting for these shows: Pop Musical Revue, 60s Musical Revue, LOONEY TUNES Dance Revue, Comedy Gunfight Show
coasterbear30
I agree that our park is one of the best, if not the best in the chain (although I have a soft spot in my heart for Over Texas after going this year.) I hear people that live around here complain about our park but they really have no idea how good of a park we have and that the management is wonderful. The only thing I wish that would be implemented is the no line jumping rule. We have had nothing but bad experiences with that, even when we have called the number that was posted at every ride, nothing was done about it. Other than that, our park is awesome in my opinion. Now if only we could have an Intamin pre-fab or a launched coaster. One can wish, right?
O-Town77
I'm pretty excited about the Topper Track. I've always loved the Cyclone wooden coaster and its clones -- and this is the closest one to where I live. Can't wait to see how the new track affects the ride quality. cfc
^I'm intrigued by this, as well. I rode the Georgia Cyclone once (in the second to last seat), and it was one of the most insane rides I've ever had on any coaster (the ejector air is ridiculous on that thing). I remember thinking, "They'd really have something here if they could just keep the trains from shuffling so much."
jedimaster1227
If this is the same illuminate group (or at least the same concept) as the one seen on America's Got Talent!, then I'm definitely making a trip back to Atlanta happen sooner than I thought! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rq5xFHB1bl8
Ed Farmer
SFoG is to me on par with the best parks on earth. Genuinely the best park experience I've had in years- and it casts a huge pile o' shame on the other SF parks in the system that SFoG is so good... and others are so bad! Can't speak for those in the chain I haven't visited (West Coast, Texas), but this is the overall impression I leave with after every visit. SFStl. comes close, and SFGAm was like this in the past. SFoG is top-notch.
herpes
This is exciting news, but do the tracks still get the crap beaten out of them with the topper track or does it solve that issue?
SFOG
If this is the same illuminate group (or at least the same concept) as the one seen on America's Got Talent!, then I'm definitely making a trip back to Atlanta happen sooner than I thought! We have not "officially" made an announcement regarding this, but SFOG is bringing iLuminate to the park for an all-new show featuring the amazing light-up costume technology. The show will run from May 26-August 12 at the park inside the Crystal Pistol Music Hall. We will release some more details as we get a bit closer to the summer season. And about Mexico...well, at some point, we'll get enough of us together, get the Kidnapping Insurance, armed escorts, and go for it! (Only half kidding) If you guys do a Mexico trip the same way you've done all your other trips (nice hotels, coach bus, good restaurants), it'll be safe. One of the Mexico City parks has armed security with shotguns outside their gates. If you do the water challenge there, you might want to use bottled water. I'm excited to see how the cyclone is with the topper track. I only got a chance to ride it once and don't remember much from that. Overall the park has a really good selection of rides and really doesn't really have any bad coasters. Even their family coaster is unique. Can't wait to ride this (and DareDevil Dive) in the future. SFOG
Here is a quick update to the Georgia Cyclone re-tracking with Topper Track. From what I understand, the new topper track will be used to rebuild the first drop, the first turn-around and the second drop. Here are some pictures of the current work (as of 1/25):
shivtim
Thanks for the pics! This is a major project and really has the potential to return the Cyclone to its full potential. Can't wait to ride it.
coasternut
^^ I can't wait to ride it after the repairs. I hope it returns to it's past glory. It's always one of my first rides of the day.
ernierocker
Thanks for the update, Brad! I don't remember reading this, but will this be a phased project? As in, will similar re-tracking be done on other portions of the track next year? Hopefully, the topper track brings Georgia Cyclone back to its former glory! DRACHEN_FIRE_FAN-BOY
It's good to see the Georgia Cyclone getting some love. This version of the "Cy-clones" has always been my favorite, just like this is my favorite Six Flags out of the chain. Great improvements for a great park.
