CoasterGuy06
Yeah I think GASM is the only coaster that is always closed once HitP starts. Blue Hawk usually is closed (but not always), and Superman usually is open (but not always).
CoasterAuditor
Thanks all who responded! Definitely looks like Dollywood during their Christmas event and SFOG during their Christmas event are solid ways to hit those parks when my home parks are closed or with most of their coasters closed. The username
Saw the video of Mindbender testing. I was worried about pacing due to shorter trains, but it looks like it's moving pretty well.

The username
So Fiesta Texas is getting a dive coaster. I think this really broadens the options of rides the park could see in the future, now that it seems like SF is working with B&M again.
IronWolfman
I know some people were discussing the "Mystery Project" for next year, is that in reference to the old Shoot-the-Chute plot? I'm wondering what people are thinking is coming. I've heard RMC Raptor and Maxx Force-type S&S Air Launch as primary rumors across Reddit & other forums. At this point, they still don't have MindBender open, so they might just delay that again

Fingers crossed though.
IronWolfman
Forgot about the freespin option, I'm still surprised OG hasn't gotten one yet! It'd fit into the lineup as a unique spinning-type coaster, but then again, the Air Launch would also fill the missing launch-type. Either way, wouldn't shock me if S&S is on the bill for the next ground-up ride
The username
Anybody been to white water lately? I looked at the app and several of the slides are listed as temporarily closed.
MonorailORANGE
So I actually made it out to White Water on Sunday 8/15. I haven't been in about 10 years so it felt great to be back in the park. The app was correct with ride closures. The area where bermuda triangle / gulf screamer and black river falls was all closed off, as well as the lazy river and dive bomber. It appears that the new 2022 slide will be going between dragon tail falls and take over the old Rapids area. Even though I've read horror stories about the summer reviews with slide closures and crowds, we had a great time! The place was fairly empty in the afternoon and we rode everything within an hour, with the longest wait to be around 10 minutes or so for run away river. Most rides were nearly walk on with under 5 minute waits! Then on Monday 8/16 we ventured out to SFoG. Got a few rides in before the tropical storm approached. Crowds were also non existent with no waits. Most of the big coasters were open with one train ops, as well as Pandemonium and Justice League. I highly recommend the weekdays when they are open in August from 5:00pm to 10:00 pm for minimal crowds. Even got to see some 2 train testing on Mindbender. Looks like they were working on some programming in the station. New trains look really nice. The trains still haul through the loops. One train had weights while the other was empty. Based on where the trains were stopping at the end of the ride, I could easily see them running up to 3 trains now that they are shorter than before, breaking up that long brake run into more block sections.

Mike240SX
Apologies if this has been asked recently, but is the Gotham City section of the park otherwise open, barring Mindbender of course? Thinking of planning a trip for Labor Day Weekend.

The username
Glad I took the time to ride OG MindBender a couple of times before the revamp began. So glad that there finally is some kind of light at the end of the tunnel.
TEDodd
Just for the special 2022 pass offer. But it's only the single park pass. And looking closer I can't find the gold pass anywhere. Is it just me or has SF killed off the multipark season pass?
bert425
^ for the moment, that's exactly what they did. the FAQ mentions "Multi-park" pass in one of the answers, so I suspect eventually that will come back for a premium price. but at the moment, the only way to get all parks in the chain is to switch to Membership. TEDodd
That sucks. I like that they added parking to that single pass, but I travel for work and occasionally go best other parks. $40 for the single park pass isn't bad, but I'd like at least the option for more without being stuck with monthly payments
bert425
Same. (tho see the update I posted earlier this morning on the SF Corporate thread) there's a workaround (costly, but it seems to exist)

It's cheaper for them if they don't have to process payments every month. Just a fact of how payment processing works. Those fees are why so many small stores have minimum purchase requirements for card transactions. Less than that and the fee is more than their profit margin. A certain percentage do not cancel at 12 months. If you prepay a year, you cannot forget to cancel and they lose money. Thus, they charge more if you prepay for the year. JT325
Those new Mind Bender trains LOOK GREAT - that nice shiny purple. But reclined headrests (with a hard plastic back attached to the back plate, hello pain), bucke-y seats, and a seat divider have NO place running on a Schwarzkopf. It was an improvement for Revolution because it was better than the custom mess that ride was running since '92. I know ... Premier, etc., old rides, parts/availabitly.. blah blah most of it's crap. Take a good long look at Montezooma's Revenge, Fire Dragon, and a few others... those trains were designed that way for a reason. You get the thrill of 70s loop coaster with the freedom (and laterals - where applicable) of a classic wood coaster. If you're a big Schwarzkopf fan like me and you appreciate those old trains (and the remakes of them on the others not at Six Flags) ride Shock Wave while you can. One of my favorite parts on Schwarzkopf loopers was always those curves cuz you get to move around while still being safe with the built-in seat divider those individual lap bars provide. It's a genius design. Sliding back and forth (and perhaps squishing your partner) is much more fun and comfortable than being awkwardly bent sideways over a seat divider. Seat dividers have made many of our kind hate laterals (Legend).
tndank
Agreed. The new trains on MB make me sad. Love the og Schwarzkopf trains and sliding over to squash my companion. Please don't do Shockwave next.
JT325
^After the ACE plaque out front (doesn't mean much to many, but come on) and all the recognition, you think they'd have given that a little more thought. Real butthurt indeed, MB has been my #1 steel coaster since 1990. For a while, Superman at SFNE took that spot, until I rode the new trains on that one. Uck. Here at Great America we have Whizzer, another top steel coaster for me. They still have the 5 original trains. Most years since the late 80s through 2019, they would have 3 on the track. Sometimes 2 running with one in transfer, or all 3 running. They always would rotate 2 out and do a complete refurb treatment in the shop. Last week, Whizzer was running better than ever - even in the extreme humidity. The trains look and feel like brand new, down to the dark green upholstered padding (well.. padding was originally red until they painted the whole ride dark green in 1981). You will never see ripped padding on those trains. They even have old fashioned goldleaf-style lettering below the Whizzer logo on each train "Est. 1976." They sure are proud of that ride as they should be. When they planned to remove it in 2002, they found out how many people really loved that ride. It's still one of the most popular rides in the park. I wish the other great SF Schwarzkopfs could get that kid glove treatment.
