Six Flags Over Georgia (SFOG) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

I'm not saying I think is what it'll be, as I've been on the S&S FreeSpin for a while. But with the new clues, and news of the Axis Arena removal, I now wonder whether a Raptor themed to Poison Ivy might be what's coming. I measured it out, and if it's a clone of WW at SFFT, it would definitely fit at an angle in that plot where Axis is, behind The Joker, and stretching almost to Batman. Again, that's probably grander than we should be expecting at SFOG this year, but it seems like it's still a possibility at least.

If you all were gamblers, would you bet on six flags being open / rides running on Sunday based on hurricane dorians path? We’re flying into Atlanta on Friday afternoon and planned carowinds for Saturday and sfog for Sunday, fly out Monday, but we can detour to Dollywood Sunday instead, decisions decisions... stupid Mother Nature

The last time one had a path heading for Atlanta the park shut down, and I think they announced the closure on that Friday, so watch SFOG social media.

Weather forecast looks clear for this weekend. There's a couple bring a friend days this weekend so it may be decently crowded between that and the, as of now, very nice weather.

The most recent track I'm looking at (released at noon eastern) shows it off the coast of Florida on Monday, with the potential track area barely in Georgia.

I think you should be fine. Depending on how much lead time you need to adjust plans, keep up-to-date and be ready to adjust up to your deadline.

If you're willing to drive to Dollywood on Sunday, why don't you instead swap SFOG and Carowinds (SFOG on Saturday, Carowinds on Sunday)?

I like this idea, as carowinds will probably be less likely impacted on Sunday. Guess I’ll cancel my hotels and see what the model is predicting when we take off Friday!

Are you talking about Carowinds on 9-7 or 9-8? It might interest you there's an ACE event on the 7th with ERT and behind the scene tours on CS and Fury.

Yeah, compared to what many (myself included) thought SFOG was getting, it's a little underwhelming. But I love what they're doing with that Gotham City area back there, and while Scramblers aren't really my thing anymore, those new Endeavors look awesome! Also, note that there are other "exciting announcements" coming soon. Probably won't be much, but this park already looks to be one of the best in the chain. I really hope to finally make it out here next year!

I thoght for sure you guys were getting an S&S 4D. Looks like I was wrong, but these are nice additions none-the-less. I see Supergirl will be the 24 seat model like the one in St. Louis. I'm wodering if Over Texas might be the only park in the chain to ever have the 48 seat version.

I still don't understand why anyone thought they would get a new coaster when Cyclone still has the "new coaster smell" on it. The park never alluded to it, there was no big teaser campaign.
Wishful thinking...

I think as long as the Splashwater Falls area remains unused, speculation every year or two will involve some coaster taking its spot

Discovery Kingdom added its fourth coaster in five years and I don't recall any major teasers from them.
