Six Flags Over Georgia (SFOG) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

People in this thread are accusing me of being a troll for simply disagreeing with the post elders of this thread.

No one is accusing you of being a troll because you have a difference of opinion, its HOW you are going about posting those opinions. When someone responds with a legit answer to one of yours posts and you respond asking why they are triggered? That's trolling. When people disagreed with your crack pipe theory of a third lap thats not going to happen, you pull out words like snowflake and ask people if they are triggered. Now you're crying on some "poor me, I had a difference of opinion and no one likes me!" But your posts are there for anyone to see.

It' s incompetent of you, a grown man, to insult children because you can't handle yourself.

You know what? you're right. I often forget there are children on here incapable of participating in adult discussions, and replying in straight forward manner makes me incompetent & unable to handle myself. Huh. That's a new one. I'll try to remember that in the future.

WHY can't you just be a like able person? I'm not "trollin" , i'm asking you if you can be more tolerable!

I'm not here to be likeable, I'm here to talk about rides and coasters. If you don't like me, that's your problem.

You insulted me. I'm not horsing around. I state my opinion and you come and make an insult.

OMG dude. You misspelled "stapled". That's not an insult, it was a joke. About horses. And stables. Because horses go in stables. I'm so so very sorry that you were not gifted with a sense of humor. Please forgive me.

The irony in all of this is how butthurt you're getting over jokes and serious discussion all the while asking if people are snowflakes and why they're triggered.

Instead I was met with a wave of easily offended coaster enthusiast who swear when someone ask them a simple question. Why are you so easily triggered? I guess what i'm trying to ask is, why do you insult people for disagreeing with you. I saw a comment encouraging your insult. WHY can't you just be a like able person? I think i'm gifted with a sense of humor. The troll comments are unnecessary. I'm aggressive when you are. That's how this works.

I like B&M. I'm pretty sure I'm not alone, as they're usually pretty popular rides. Not everything has to be balls to the wall.

Let me learn you something, Junior... Most modern B&M coasters don't share the same bat shit crazy layouts of RMC or some of the forces of Intamin rides, but they're hardly forceless. I know it's a tired debate, but there's something to be said about their reliability, comfort, ability for the average person to re-ride, and aesthetically pleasing structures. Parks seem to love them as well. Fury, Banshee, Diamondback, Afterburn, and the B:TR clones are among my favorite rides.

I'm not sure how you can say that you thought the same about B&M staying consistent with their old aggressive layouts, since I'm pretty sure you were still pissing your pants around the time that they made the transition to less aggressive rides. Just take it down a notch, man.

Well actually, I wasn't pissing my pants when they transitioned to less aggressive rides. I was 9 when I first rode Alpengeist, so I was far from pissing in my pants lol. I'm not at all discrediting their coasters by any means for not being reliable and appealing. After riding Banshee, I personally didn't feel like it was as forceful as what I'm used to with their inverts. I never said it was completely forceless.

That isn't what i expected, so just know that any DANK comments I make, will sound similar to yours. That of a DANK troll. I will continue to be DANK and you will know that it is JusTaJokes. Doesn't that sound nice? never knew i would find DANKERS here.

Wow, I honestly don't know how you got any of that from what I posted. Did you actually read what I posted? I never said anything about B&M coasters not being good. I never even alluded to the idea that B&M is better. I was responding to posts like
Im willing to bet many of the B&Ms built in the mid 2000s will be more more forceful than Twisted Cyclone, I can't imagine this RMC having greater forces than say Behemoth, Banshee, or Fury. Hell, I found those three coasters to be miles better than Wicked Cyclone or even Storm Chaser.

and addressing the idea that has permeated this thread and other forums that Twisted Cyclone is somehow a lesser coaster due to its size and length.

My post here was speculating on the forces of Twisted Cyclone based off the B&Ms and RMCs that I have actually ridden, not some BS that I'm pulling out of my butt. Sure I have no idea what Twisted Cyclone will actually ride like, no one does, but I can get a pretty good idea based on how the other 9 RMCs that I've been on ride.

Fair enough, opinions of coasters are subjective and lots of people love things I don't and vice versa. But I still don't believe in judging a ride before I ride it. Based only on having ridden one RMC (Wicked Cyclone) as well as what everyone says about all the others, my prediction is this will have considerably more force than your average modern B&M. But that's just me.

Pick one.

You've ridden a bunch of B&Ms and most of the RMC's, right? What do you think? Do you think its easy to assume this won't be as forceful as your average modern B&M?

I suppose that depends on what the consensus is on the definition of forceful/forceless/whatever catch-all terms enthusiasts use. And what forces certain enthusiasts value.

Are we talking about positive Gs? There's a few RMCs with strong positives, but I'd say B&Ms are typically stronger on average. I think B&M has consistently kept this heavy positives on old and new. Even Silver Bullet has a gray-out-inducing helix.

Are we talking about airtime? No one will ever argue that RMC doesn't have much stronger airtime than B&M nearly all the time.

Are we talking about intensity in pacing? When people say "modern B&Ms are forceless" I think they're mistaking strong forces for intensity in design. Simply put, B&M don't transition from element to element quickly enough. They hit the same heavy G Force values they used to, but they reach them more gradually, and that makes it less intense. The pacing becomes static. But in turn, more people in general can enjoy this coaster.

The reason Kumba is loved more among enthusiasts than a more recent floorless of similar size/layout like Bizarro isn't how high or how long the positive forces are, it's the transitions in and out of the positive-heavy elements and how quickly it maneuvers everywhere else. B&M have lost their "whip."

Sorry for the long-winded explanation on that. But as far as my expectations for Twisted Cyclone go I would say that many other B&Ms will have stronger positives, but TC will probably have better pacing, intensity and airtime.

Luckily my better half doesn't subscribe to the idea that bigger is better.

Assumptions are shortcuts. I believe in due process. The same thing that keeps people out of jail should be used to judge coasters.

A bit disingenuous to leave out the part about the second quote being a prediction.

How so? Making a prediction is very much a judgement, no? It's at least the same type of judgement that he was just criticizing x2coasterfreak for.

I for one am reserving all judgement on the new TC until I actually ride it. Regardless of what it will have or not have, it will no doubt be an awesome addition to the park.

I will also add, as this thread comes down from orbit and back to earth, I am eager to see all the other changes SFoG has in store, not just the new Coastal them8ng but also the "Piedmont" theme replacing the French section.

Oh, and lest we not forget GASM sdrawkcab!

We're really not all that bad at having a good time
