Six Flags Over Georgia (SFOG) Discussion Thread

It was also B&M's last stand-up so maybe they figured it out in the end. Georgia Scorcher has excellent pacing but doesn't become painfully forceful like Riddler's or Green Lantern.

It's also shorter in length than those two, which probably helps with it not becoming painfully forceful. I personally love Scorcher and think it's the third best ride in the park, it's extremely underrated.

I went to media day yesterday at the park for Justice League Battle for Metropolis. Here are a few pics I took. The whole Metropolis area looks really good.

I like how the area has been opened up

As much as the red-blue-yellow scheme has been representative of Superman, simple red and blue can be immediately identified and looks cleaner overall. I hope they implement this color scheme into more of the Superman coasters in the future!

I honestly thought the first picture was a rendering, that section of the park looks gorgeous. I've only been once and it was 2015's HitP so I wasn't able to get down there/couldn't see anything in the back half of the park. Literally got scarily dark once you go past Goliath.

Looks great! I love these Justice League dark rides! Even though they make me a little nauseous........ I think the parks that got them this year really needed them. Six Flags Over Georgia needed that ride to give something else to the area of the park that it is in. Six Flags Great Adventure needed another ride in that section of the park other than the Dark Knight coaster. And Six Flags Magic Mountain just needed anything air conditioned.

Thanks for the pics. Looks really nice. I am a big fan of Justice Leagues and love seeing more parks get them. Superman's paint looks nice. Will it be running 3 trains this season?

How are crowds on Mothers Day?? My sister is a nurse and has to work tomorrow, so we did our whole Mothers Day celebration earlier this week, I usually tend to avoid bring a friend free day unless they happen to fall during the week. The only other Holiday i've ever visited the park on has been Easter, and it's a great time to go. I hate long long lines, so I kind of want to get Justice League in while it's in the preview stages this weekend.

  • 2 weeks later...

How is the progress on JLBFM? I understand there is still quite a bit to go on the SFGAd and SFMM versions.

EDIT: Nevermind. I just saw the media day post on the previous page. Man, it looks good!

Justice League BFM season pass preview day was amazing! I have to admit there were no real surprises for me as I have been riding the SFoT version since 2015, but Georgia's version was fresh, and the queue was more immersive. The ride actually malfunctioned on our first ride - got stuck near the second to last 3D screen for about 10 minutes. The interior lights came on during this time and gave us an unusual look at the ride's interior, including the ravaged office scene. All in a day's work though - ride ops gave us a re-do. Line was not terribly long but it was long enough to take in the video backstory on the myriad of monitors. Actually - waiting in this line is part of the attraction!

Thinking in another direction - I have noticed there is no longer any live stage entertainment during the summer, particularly in the Crystal Pistol. That building will remain unused until Fright Fest. With all the hype over this fantastic new indoor (air conditioned) dark ride, what about musical shows? They were once a staple at SF but I guess that harkens back to Warner Bros' ownership days. The POP-40 ('14) and Mixtape ('15) shows were really good. No summer shows in 2016 though.

Anyway - I LOVE IT when the weather man is wrong. Sunday was a great day at the park with nice weather and no lines, not even in the food establishments. Can't wait to ride JL:BFM again.....

Hey guys, will be at the park for the first time next Friday while visiting family. Naturally making sure I get a trip into another park while I can. Pumped to get some laps on Goliath, as Nitro is the only other B&M Hyper I've been on and the love that ride. I'm also excited to try out the Justice League ride. I should have access to a flash pass no problem, as I have a connection for that, but my main question is does anyone know if they've announced that Justice League will be on Platinum flash pass only?

Many thanks in advance!

According to the website, Justice League is: "THE FLASH Pass Platinum only with a reservation."

I had a platinum FP yesterday, and didn't have to reserve my time for Justice League, it was only one ride, but I got to choose it whenever I was ready.

I was able to go to the park last Wednesday and had The....Best....Day! I pulled in and thought they were closed (even though the website said differently.) They didn't even open the main parking lot. I was able to walk on to every ride, sit where I wanted and ride as many times as I liked. It was freaking awesome!

The staff were all very nice and did very well. Even the food service was good and didn't piss me off.

Still enjoyed Ninja Hawk and rode it twice. Justice League was not open, but the area around it looks pretty darned good.

All in all, a great day.

^Sounds like you picked the perfect day to go (other than JL not open). With our schedules it's hard to go there during a slow time (partner works for the schools here). My last trip was on a Saturday in May '08 which was horrible in terms of wait times. I may have to just leave him behind one day and go up by myself...lol

I remember having a fantastic visit on a mid-June weekday in 2011. My cousin and I got many walk-on rides except for Dare Devil Dive which was new that year, but even then the wait was around 20 minutes. Point is if you're coming to SFOG, weekdays in May and June are great times to come.

I was gonna come to the park in a couple of weeks, but I had to commit to work. I hope to come back in July or August to try Justice League as it looks really good.

^^I think part of it may be that their schools were still in session (it was the day before their last day). It's always a treat to be able to go to any park during the short window that it's open on weekdays while the local children are still in school (esp outside of FL). The last time we took advantage of this was on a trip to Carowinds a couple years ago. Our schools ended a week before theirs so we had 3 pretty awesome days with little to no lines at all. A year before that we went to Dollywood during our spring break here while they were still in session and had a great time...even with it being cold.

Justice League Battle for Metropolis Media Day!

I was invited to the media day for SFOG's new dark ride opening this year. The event was very well put together with lunch provided and food kiosks around the ride being included. The ride really does brighten the area and brings new life to the back of the park. The ride was very well put together. The only negative was that I only got to ride it once because when I got in line for the second time it broke down, which is understandable being a new ride on media day. I was impressed by the screens and the interactive guns, and the queue was very detailed. It is a great addition to the park all in all. Superman, as well as some new midway games which were free, were open during the event which was a HUGE plus, and Superman looks so good with the new paint. I'm sorry I couldn't get any pictures of the loading area because the ride broke down before we got to that part of the line and our first time we went through the exit. I did get some exterior shots and some shots of the first room. Enjoy!

While I have not been so far this year, during one of the off season tours the park president did say that in addition to the new paint job that they were working to have all three trains ready to run this year to handle the increased crowds there due to JL opening. Hopefully they got it done.
