kickflipbacktail
Of the 3 standup coasters I've ridden I still think Scorcher is right in the middle. It's a LOT better than Vortex but I still prefer Green Lantern. It was a lot more intimidating (also it was the first standup coaster I had the pleasure of riding) and I just get a much wilder sense of scale and speed. Also the corkscrews and sharp turns after the mid coarse break run are intense but they don't bash my head as much as Scorcher does. I'm the odd one out here clearly, so maybe I'm just riding it wrong. I'd be stoked if they gave Scorcher the Rougarou treatment.
boldikus
This conversation is making me wish Scorcher wasn't closed when I was down there last month, even though I really hate stand-ups and was happy I had an excuse not to ride it.
coasterbill
I actually like Vortex at Carowinds but I hate every other standup I've ridden (Cobra, Shockwave, Riddler, Green Lantern, Mantis and Apocalypse). I'd be interested to ride Scorcher because of it's positive reviews but generally speaking regardless of reviews I almost always hate standup coasters. Riddler had good reviews and I thought someone should really kill it with fire.
imissopryland
Have the new Blue Hawk (aka Ninja) trains been put on the track? If so, has testing begun.
coastere
Hello Everyone , Just got back from the park so heres a mini TR The park was really dead today. I arrived at 10:30 and got 2 quick rides on goliath. By the time i was done with goliath I noticed DDD was open and had a short line. I got in line and waited about 20 minutes with the vr. The vr didnt sync well with the ride and was a little blurry. The operations at DDD were terrible too. I then headed to Mind Bender and then got 4 btb rides on BTR. The batman crew has been awesome every time I've gone to the park this season. I then went over to superman and hung out in HH for a bit. Finally I went to DMT , Acro, Scorcher, and Cyclone to finish the day. It was a great short trip to the park. Also i dont know if this has been mentioned but mind bender was back to 1 train today. Ride Count -------------- Goliath x2 BTR x4 MB x1 DDD x1 MM x1 Acro x1 DMT x1 SUF x1 Cyclone x1 Scorcher x2 HH ----- Tsunami Surge x2 Bonsai x4 Also went on body slides in Skull Island

Scorcher really is good! Maybe a new coaster next year can bring you back . . . Hey, I hope so. I would go back to SFOG in a heartbeat. Its free with my pass and I have an excuse in visiting my sister while in the area. That trip was easy and cheap, and fun. Loved the park, one of my faves overall. * please be an RMC of Cyclone. Vonni
I have never been on a stand up roller coaster. Is the sensation while riding any different at all from sitting? Does it make you feel less secure? (I know there is headbanging. I've read about that countless times. I'm talking about the actual riding sensation.)
boldikus
Not really comparable to sitting but you basically are sitting on the equivalent of a bicycle seat which is a huge reason they suck. The forces are felt very different because of your position. All those positive Gs - all to your feet and legs (and taint/balls). And then there's the headbanging. And every standup I've ridden - Shockwave (SFGAdv), Apocalypse, Green Lantern I've disliked them all. Apocalypse is my least favorite B&M, period. The Geek Mojo
Scorcher is the only stand up I've ever ridden that I didn't bang my head on. Yeah, it's still uncomfortable, but it's still a fun ride. Scorcher was the last stand up B&M ever made, I think they finally got it right, or the best they could. I highly doubt we'll ever see a stand up made again and as much as I dislike stand ups, I'd prefer they left Scorcher the way it is since it is the best one imo. SFOG1991
Did we really need a second coaster with a fighter jet theme? Anyways, I was at the park Sunday and the ride looks good but hopefully they do at least a decent half ass job with theme because as of right now, the Ninja statues were better than anything I anticipate going in their place. Still can't wait to ride whenever I head back to the park.
SFOG1991
Also i dont know if this has been mentioned but mind bender was back to 1 train today. Mind Bender had two trains on Sunday... From all the reports I have heard, it is jumping back and forth from one to two on an almost daily basis. I wonder why...

boldikus
I think the name is awful (and very Cedar Fair-ish) but the DC comics thing is really tired imo. I think the theming of this ride is perfectly fine.
Hilltopper39
Yes, and yes, but atleast the DC stuff is based on popular properties that people already know, which would have been better than Blue Hawk IMO.

Considering we have "Joker Chaos Coaster" and "Joker Funhouse Coaster", boldikus may be right.
1337foods
We need a flash themed launch coaster, that's exactly what SFoGA needs, why is it that Six Flags isn't using the Flash IP?

The Alex
Honestly, they should've waited for Ninja's refurb to be done so they could launch it with the New Revolution name and VR experience simultaneously. It's right next to the Great American Scream Machine, anyway. That would've been a cohesive themed area for the park and a capacity win for the VR. Or is that just me?
