TXman308
Can someone explain to me why this won't be ready until 2013? It seems that they already have a pretty good portion of construction done.
_koppen
Because the coaster will be part of a brad new theme park area, in a water park, that also needs to be finished before it can open.

Ledgy
Etnaland Facebook Page presents some new photos: Seems they finish the building process... time for Testruns on "STORM" and they show us the next coaster project (a S&S Mine Train says RCDB.com): I find some rumors about an "Haunted School" Darkride by Gosetto (on "THEPARKS.it" homepage): La ditta Gosetto ha fornito alcune informazioni sul dark ride di Etnaland prevista per il 2012. http://www.gosetto.com/#/NEWS Schools out for summer? Not at Etnaland. The Italian theme park on the isle of Sicily is to open a new dark ride themed around a haunted school. The interactive attraction, supplied by Gosetto, will feature eight classroom scenes, each dedicated to a different academic subject. Riders must answer exam questions to accumulate points during the ride. But before they start riders will have the chance to quell any pre-exam “nerves” by visiting the bathroom! Gosetto will not only provide the ride system but also the theming throughout the attraction. Twelve 4-seater rotating ride vehicles will be used, themed as school desks. Construction is due to be made on site soon following test runs at the Gosetto factory in the north of Italy The theme will be a school populated with 8 scenes

LoneRider92
Wow, this is a project I want to keep my eye on. Everything I've seen so far looks excellent. Yet another (potentially) awesome park out of my reach.
gisco
Maybe TPR should have waited another year for the Italy trip. Everything is looking pretty cool.
ernierocker
^Or it just gives R/E another excuse to do go back sooner!
Kooky
i like the view of this image... looks like a really nice park. I have to visit italy next year and than i hope that the Mack Lite coaster is as good as it looks: source: https://www.facebook.com/Etnaland
Noxegon
This park is in Sicily, which, though part of Italy, is a separate island that you need to fly to. And I think I will be flying there next year...
STR8FXXXINEDGE
This park looks really nice, and I'm completely intrigued by that dark ride. Definitely a new concept, or at least one that I've never seen.
JAMMYD778
Hello everyone! I have made a recreation of The Storm to give everyone an idea of the final outcome for the ride. Enjoy
rolercstrluvr
^ Great video Jammy, looks like you've done a great amount of research on this coaster. I recently saw a picture on Facebook of the ride testing, It looked pretty awesome.
_koppen
I've always defended Mack in the "Mack ripped of Intamin with their Launch coaster" debate. But this time I think it's a bit to obvious. A very similar design, and even the same amount of cars on the train! (who looks gorgeous by the way).
GeorgeT
It`s really OBVIOUS that someone took a look at the Intamin Megalites...but maybe it was the Park asking for that kind of Layout ? Anyway...I think the price was not the reasons for choosing Mack as mack is more of a high end fabricate AFAIK...it`s no Vekoma, guys This mixture of basically a megalite-layout plus inversion plus the comfort of those AWESOME (!) mack trains...nothing wrong about it
_koppen
This looks perfect! Sure, no Mega-Lite, but still not far behind. Edited July 18, 2012 by Hhappy
Moose
Wasn't this delayed until 2013? But it's open now?
_koppen
No, it's always been planned to 2013. The ride is part of a new Theme Park, built by a water park, in Sicily. The whole project will open in 2013.
MrSum1_55
This really looks like fun! It is certainly no Intamin, though, even though it looks exactly like an Intamin. All I can say, though is poor Intamin! They came up with the wing rider first, only for B&M to come up with it later, and sell more. Now, they have the launch coasters and mega-lites, of which I believe Mack is ripping off. One thing I have noticed is how companies with noteriety for being unreliable tend to be the more innovative companies, like Vekoma and Intamin, while reliable companies tend to wait for other companies to come up with ideas, only to just build on them? However, since this is the way engineering improves, I guess there isn't anything too negative about this. Yet, I do believe this is something that should be considered. 3Mutts
Storm looks like it will be a cool and awesome ride by looking at that video. Congratulations to Mack and Etnaland for putting together this cool ride. Although it definety dose look like Mack and Entaland looked at Intamin Megalites. Hopefully we see more of theses and that they take off better then the Megalites (more then 4 and not all in Asia).
