Well here we are at the start of a brand new season and to kick things off I've decided to take a visit to Fantasy Island which is on the east cost of England at Ingoldmells, Skegness. Fantasy Island is a popular tourist destination that has two ‘white knuckle’ roller coaster's the first being the Millennium roller coaster-the average sit down Vekoma and Jubilee odyssey- A Vekoma SLC both of which are very smooth. The park also has a selection of family coasters and flat rides; I will tell you more about them when I get to them on the pictures. Fantasy Island also has a ‘HUGE’ Market where you can buy things from cigarette lighters to clothing items and now on to the photos.

EDIT= Inside the pyramid if you remeber the Jellykins roller coaster used to be totally enclosed with that colored perspex around it. But now the park has taken the majority of that down and you can now see the coaster clearly.

Volcanic Eruption/Impact has had new seats put on as well.

This is the first thing I saw when I entered Fantasy Island it's nice to see them adding some theming for a change.

Amazing Confusion is being reassembled I think that it has been brought forward a little than last year and while I was there the park maintenance were testing the ride out.

^ The log ride is rather short, and yes a bit pathetic as well.

Havent been to Fantasy Island for a few years, last time I went Jubilee Oddysey was closed(So I still havent ridden Version 2 of the ride) but hopefully I will get a chance one day, sometimes its a hard credit to get believe it or not as it rarely operates because it wont run in any kind of high winds(Its worse than the Pepsi Max Big One) I remember the weather seemed perfectly ok when I did last visit so dunno why it was closed.

Tell me, does the park still operate on the crappy token only system??If YES I am surprised the park still survives today because I hate systems like this, you just cant plan your day out very well, because you dont really know how tokens you will really need to enjoy your day(So it can turn into a rather expensive day) plus its very annoying you cant use them on the 2 big coasters(OMG WHY) dont know why they cant allow it even if they do charge upto 8 tokens for example. You know It was this reason Blackpool got into decline for a while, but when they changed to a wristband system, people suddenly visited again in their droves

Hi Paul! (long time and all that)

Last year at Fantasy Island, you could either buy a certain amount of credit on a barcoded ticket or a day wristband, this did include both of the coasters, when I first turned up, I only bought 2 rides on Millennium (as Jubilee was closed all day, surprise surprise), after enjoying it, I got a wristband, got one ride then it closed because of winds......dammit!!!!!! Also Beast was in Rehab last year on my visit and Amazing Confusion was closed with a big cover over the ride vehicle, and Rhombus Rocket was being painted..... Bit of a lame day TBH!

Nice TR Connor.

Great pictures.

I visited on Saturday and to bring you up to date a little this season:

Wristbands are £20 (£18 online), there are no longer any on/off peak rates. The barcode tickets can still be bought and have credit applied to. All rides have gone up 50p this season, costing £1.50 for children's, £2.50 for family and £3.50 for thrill.

They claim to be running all rides all day every day where posisble. On Saturday they had just got Jubilee Odyssey running for the first time and it ran for around an hour between 7:30pm and 8:30pm. It should now be running each day.

While Millennium is really quite smooth by Vekoma standards, as much as I love it, I would not describe Jubilee Odyssey as smooth!

Fantasy Island is one of my closest parks, so I hope it has a sucessful season as I am quite fond of the place.
