CorkscrewFoley
The ride looks absolutely insane! I dunno if it's just me, but Raptor has a nemesis feel to it, maybe it's how extent they went with the theming. I always wanted to go to Gardaland, but this is just the icing now. Geauga Dog
Hanno, simply awesome photos. I am very, very impressed with how this ride turned out.
Thom25
Thank you VERY much for the great pics and videos! The ride does look like a ton of fun and can't wait for one to be built here in the US. How does it compare to FB or X? Is it smoother? Have there been more rumors of rotating seats in future models?
B&MIntaminGCI
Raptor looks absolutely amazing, I need to get out to Italy. This was my most watched construction project for 2011 and it didn't disappoint at all. Plus, the ride is amazingly photogenic, it's just asking to have pictures taken of it, especially the trains. coastercrzyjames
Wow, I'm impressed! Raptor looks like a good ride, love the theming!! Looks like B&M did a good job with this "prototype". I hope this design catches on, it could be fun for some parks to play with.
manakin
I tried raptor yesterday! The coaster is lot of fun, very smooth (only few vibrations in the back row) and the teming is really cool. the first drop is great. the second part of the ride is not fast or intense, but all the element like the splash effect and the headchoppers (the final tree) make the ride very fun. the trains are amazing and very comfortables. Ejectorbater
Okay, first off, Hanno takes some excellent pictures. I think every angle needed, he covered. Fantastic job Hanno! Secondly, the color of the ride, the trains, the layout, the theming is all amazing. If I had to play devils advocate and bitch, I would want a longer ride, but I don't plan on bitching! This ride looks awesome! Looks like we have a winner:)
crazywolf88
How is the loading procedure? FB has a line on one side and people walk over the center of the ride to get to the other side. X2 has lines on both sides and from what I hear, it takes forever for a train to dispatch. I have also noticed that all of the inversions twist to the left, the left side of the train looks to be getting more negatives and the right side is getting a less intense experience with the inversions... Bottom line is the right side a different experience from the left side?
cal1br3tto
I'm in love with the theming! Looks very detailed with some amazing headchoppers! Sounds like this is a really fun ride!

Bottom line is the right side a different experience from the left side? Loading process is just fine. at the end of the que they have 2 gates.. opening up for 14 riders each time (14 riders per side) which then go to their side and get ready to get on the train. Restraints are very easy (not like X2) and dispatch times are great. ( i have some pictures of the loading area in the next update) regarding left or right.. sure the ride is a bit different.. since you sit on a different side.. but it does not matter for the full experience. Regarding intensity.. not sure why you think it would be different.. since everybody (the entire train) has to make the entire move.. So bottom line.. not really, both sides are a lot of fun. MacPark
That themeing is insane. I love it. That extra effort really pays off. Hhappy
Time for another update. Today was the media event at Gardaland for Raptor. This basically gave me the opportunity to get even more pictures of the ride and try some different things (angles) to get pictures of. I got to watch a nice presentation and had the opportunity to get some pictures from areas where camera's usually don't go.. (as in the Que and loading area) Somebody mentioned not getting the theme behind the ride (or something like that) here's the story from the press release: The story of the attraction narrates of an implacable predator, an unknown winged creature which, awoken from its ancient sleep in the subsoil of Gardaland during works for the construction of the new rollercoaster, has started to devastate the land to avenge the human insult. The convoy represents the unknown winged predator that kidnaps (hence the dangling seats) whoever tries to tame it dragging them in an extreme flight through enormous, arid forests and devastated lands. The terrible flight of the unknown creature is filled with ruins such as a watch-tower about to fall, a tree broken in two, a bridge with protection barriers..., remains of the unstoppable fury of Raptor which become out and out obstacles of the path.. anyway Here we go. I do hope you like these. new day, new photo ops.. check out this view tree joke? nah.. the entrance gate/portal i might have posted something similar.. but i do like it.. calling home will it fit?? looks like it brakes, did not notice them at all during my rides this day peronal belongings (aka loose articles) hmmm bolts bolts bolts ok, back to the train and riders this is such a fun part of the ride see? between 140 and 195 cm's to ride big upper body and upper legs might.... just test to be sure hmm theming passing underneath the bridge always fun watching people getting damp just because... .. this will probably be the.. .. most photographed part of the ride. another train funny faces presentation time Candy Holland was here (nice story) and Chris McCormack was here impressive ERT time which for me was picture time in the queue area.. so close water = good (unless you're Dan) hmmm everywhere you look there's something to look at.. the bridge stupid fence just a slighty different angle looks like they enjoyed it still from the queue area up side down heavenly?? the colors and theming are just... having fun ladies? such a cool ride (and love the hair) "behind the scenes" underneath the train.. automagically people pull in their legs for a lot of ages water crossing the bridge and another look at that bridge roll yummie Raptor, time to eat and take pictures from a different angle (i forgot to take pictures of the awesome food) but first.. hairtime trees Just in case you forgot the name of this ride love the hair and joy priceless smile/laugh/scream if you like it Yeah!!! diabolic look hmm gravity.. hello front row.. ehmm.. so many possible caption here.. email Dan fail. bolts and colors random riders more gravity ok, back to "normal" so close.. yet so far away Love the shirt happy faces just another angle "Bruce ejection".. "Chris Ghost".. that was a hilarious story.. plenty of happy faces looking towards the turn before the lifthill, control room is above easy restraints boarding view.. aka gate to train theming loading area without a train looking in the direction the train will go.. just one (front) row in the station control panel view from the control room That's it folks, hope you enjoyed it Edited April 2, 2011 by Hhappy
RobWarren
Hanno, Thanks you for sharing this with us. The entire Raptor area looks impeccable. The story the park developed looks to match the environment and experience they designed very well. I love a well executed story. What's the story about the flat spin being names the "Chris Ghost" inversion? Thanks again! -Rob "So excited to visit Gardaland" Warren
Gigalyte
Thanks Hanno amazing pics and report That train is just awesome I want to ride it just b/c of how that train looks, Intamin needs to see if they can get a deal with B&M for their trains to use on their Wingwalker coasters lol That e-mail Dan pic is
Ccron10
Awesome pics as usual Hanno. It looks cool, but strange how the station and pre-lift turn look like it's just sitting on the ground with no supports. Hopefully this ride-type catches on. griffonj2022
These pictures are amazing again But the thing that stumps me is how to they load/unload the trains? People have to get on from both sides, but then how do you get them off in that kind of station?
