XII
Well, about 2 weeks ago was a wonderful event that comes to Six Flags Magic Mountain every year for hundreds of roller coaster enthusiasts around the world to enjoy. Last year, this awesomeness spread over to Knotts Berry Farm and also returned there this year. While I have never experienced the awesomeness over at Knotts, I still managed to soak up all the awesomeness that was here at Six Flags Magic Mountain. I am of course talking about the wonderful event known as Westcoast Bash and am here to give you photographic evidence of just how awesome this day is. So take a look at the photos. They'll explain the awesomeness in full detail. ADMIN EDIT: I went ahead and moved the "Photo TR:" to the front of the thread's title as opposed to the back. Thanks for sharing this with us! Well, the day has finally come. Westcoast Bash is finally here, and in typical Westcoast Bash fashion, it totally kicked ass. Can't this event come any sooner. It's too good to wait for!!! Just like in previous years, Westcoast Bash has kickass doughnuts for us to fuel up on. "America may have all sorts of incredibly fatty and unhealthy foods, but they have nothing on my Doughnut Sandwich!!!!" All right. That's enough food for now. Let's get riding!!! Aww. Goliath's stuck. Moving on. All right. First ride of Morning ERT. "So, I hear you've had a history of missing deadlines for buying WCB Tickets and sneaking into events like this. May I please see proof of your WCB ticket Gertrude?" What's wrong with this picture? All right. More Morning ERT rides. So Batman, you may be good now, but just wait until night. You're going to get some very special treatment. Green Lantern Construction Update. Still looks like a clone of Dirt the ride. All right. Now that Morning ERT is over, it's time for a backstage tour of one of Six Flags Magic Mtn's Fright Fest Mazes, Bite II. (Yes, Westcoast Bash is that awesome.) While it isn't one of my favorite Fright Fest mazes, I'm just glad to see it behind the scenes instead of seeing it in maze forms like I saw in Fright Fest. "Blugh. There's too much moss in here." Get over it you big baby. "Antonio, is that you?" "No. We fired him. I found out that I'm much scarier than Antonio and will be in Bite II from now." Blugh. That new Apocalypse Sign is very cheap. I wish Six Flags would change it. No Problem. *Poof!* There, that's much better, isn't it. MANLY POSE!!!!! All right. Time for Westcoast Bash Lunch. Well, Thomas Town has officially made the transition to Whistlestop Park. Of all the names they could've came up with, they ended up going with Magic Flyer. Something about that being a name for a kiddy coaster just doesn't seem right. Nice. They already put the new Superman Logo on the signs. Oh yeah. It's also Backwards Superman's Opening Day. That explains why it's so crowded today. Ugh. Why are we riding Tidal Wave in this type of weather? There. That's much better. While this may look like a long line for the Single Riders Line, it's actually not since all those people don't understand the fact that in a single rider line, you take empty seats and have to split up with your group. All right. Time for yet another kickass Westcoast Bash Backstage Tour. This year, we got a Goliath Backstage Tour and it was awesome. Dude. This shot kicks major major major ass!!! Dude. These Goliath shots are worth the WCB price alone. Goliath Crotch Shot Hmm. I see a long object going into a small dark hole. Goliath Backstage Tour Awesomeness. Meh. Whatever. It's not like you get wet on this ride or anything. All right. Time for the annual WCB Q&A Session. Could they possibly be foreshadowing Revolution's future here? "Happy Birthday Kid at Westcoast Bash. Here's a tube from SFMM." Dude!!! Riddlers Revenge was hauling ass today!!! I mean, it was good. Really f*cking good. In fact, I can't remember the last time Riddlers Revenge ran this well. Yep. This is opening day all right. Damn. Looks like schools are graduating extra early this year. Umm, where is most of the Sky Tower Museum? "Don't worry. Tim and Neal said that they're just adjusting the Sky Tower Museum. It's here to stay." Don't worry. Nothing can possibly go wrong here. I've always had wonderful luck putting my camera on trash cans in the past. Oh, and I have great luck with my cameras on basketball courts as well. It's cold, cloudy, and going to rain tonight. This sounds like the perfect day to go on Roaring Rapids. Yeah. We're f*cking idiots. Dude. Screw the Doughnuts, ERT, Backstage Tours, and Q&A. Finding this dime was the real highlight of Westcoast Bash. I've been seeing this ad for the Guacomole Burger for like forever. So I finally tried it, and it was actually pretty decent. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're sad and pathetic and we know it. Moving on. Wait a minute. What's going on here? Yep. It's raining during Night ERT. This is going to make for some very fun rides. All right!!! Night ERT has begun!!! First up, they turned Scream into Light Strobe Scream. It was fun, but it was nothing compared to what was in store. Hmm. What's up with all the smoke rising up from Batman? Dude!!! They added fog and blue lights to Batman!!!! And it totally kicked ass and made it much better!!!! Batman the ride through the fog and blue lights. This kicked ass!!!! Please do this with Batman more often! All right!!!! We got Night Time ERT on Superman!!!!!! Hell, they were still running it despite the drizzle!!! And that kicked ass even if it did hurt like hell going back forewards!!!! We got many Superman rides in until they had to close it due to the rain getting harder. Dude. Tatsu in the rain is awesome. Oh, and for X2, they had a special WCB Soundtrack just like they did for Apocolypse last year. "What do you mean you got to skip the preshow!!! Everyone must go back and watch the preshow!!!!!" X2 with WCB Audio kicked ass and Westcoast Bash 2011 kicked ass. I'm totally looking foreword to Westcoast Bash 2012. fatdaddy
I uncovered the REAL, unshopped version of that picture. Take the tunnel!!!
ILoveRides
There seems to be some debate over which photo is the REAL photo, so I went back to the memory card and got it directly off that. Here it is, the 100% real, unedited photo: That ride with Jessica Alba, Megan Fox, and Brittney was pretty awesome! Good thing Caesar and his boyfriend weren't allowed to tag along! fatdaddy
I remember that day, we snuck away for the technical rehearsal of the new tunnel of love, ILoveRides was worried about getting his camera wet. ILoveBunnies got a little carried away, the ride was very romantic. ILoveRides flew into a jealous rage and tried to scare me with a manly pose. Fortunatly for me Big Mike was there to handle the situation with his patented UPS fatality ( Unattach Persons Skull ) and we lived happily ever after. FATALITY!!! ILoveRides
I think TPR should have an official "What was REALLY happening in the Tunnel of Love?" Photoshop contest. Although there's no need for that contest because I called SFMM and confirmed it - this is the REAL photo: ILoveBunnies and I were too busy riding Green Lantern to worry about what fatdaddy was doing with Gertrude in the Tunnel of Love. fatdaddy
I remember that day now, Robb had been invited to preview the new tunnel of love edition of Jet Stream. He wanted to take a couple to see if it really was as romantic as he had heard. So, he invited ILoveRides and ILoveBunnies to ride. Oddly, ILoveRides said there was something he need to do with Gertrude and it couldn't wait. I gladly volunteer to fill in. The ride was romantic and ILoveBunnies got a little carried away, I was able to fight her off. When we returned, we were both amazed and confused at the non-vegan act that was playing out before our eyes. When we returned, we found Gertrude and David had found a "tunnel of love" of their own.
