Sir Clinksalot
Looks like a very cool park. Did the SLC have any extended theming or was it just "Lethal"?
CorkscrewFoley
The pre-launch bit on Superman's POV was friggin' sweat! Don't get me wrong, Scooby's was cool too, but when they had the water surging it just screamed time and effort...oh and Universal Studios. lol Thanks for posting the pics and vids, Robb. RoCo
Awesome, awesome, awesome report! Any park that has TWO coasters with dark ride sections gets immediate and unending love from me. Super-happy-fun-win. Always great to see more images of the mythic "Orphan Rocker." What an oddity. How cool is Australia? They have a zombie walk day? With cute babe zombies? More super-happy-fun-win. On the special Luna Park lunch menu, did anyone else read the dessert item as "Floorless" cake? (B&M needs to branch out into baking for sure.) BIG thumbs up for that Australia tour T-shirt design! Really excellent. That may be my favorite TPR shirt design so far. Last, I also screamed like a little girl when I saw the picture of that freaking disgusting spider. NASTY!!!
PKI Jizzman
Awesome videos! Finally have QUALITY videos to remember my trip to Movie World. I'm so pissed I missed Superman...but hey, Scooby was figgin' amazing!

ozziboy
Hope you guys are having a wild time down here - your reports are amazing! Especially Robb's POV's at Movie World - never thought I'd ever get to see inside with the lights on!! wow! I last saw the Orphan Rocker back in 1988 and it was looking old and overgrown even back then! I always thought it'd just be a matter of time until it opened.... but I'm not so sure 20+ years later. As others have mentioned, the stuff about failing a sandbag test etc are just urban myths - the actual "uninteresting" story can be pieced together by Googling, including lots of great photos before it got quite so derelict-yet-unused. Sadly I'm way over in Perth so there's not much chance of running into you, but when you guys get to Aussie World in Queensland you'll see a great old 1935 Wild Mouse that used to reside here in Perth for about 50 years. How we lost that to Aussie World I'll never know, but I can vouch for it being a great coaster! (my 1st!) Catch you in July on the NE tour. anthoni_
seriously, that Superman figure on the back of the trains was awesome! And the Scooby-doo coaster is very well themed. And the tilting of the lift? Brilliant!
Sarakosta
In comparision with Parque Warner Madrid, which is better in terms of theme, roller coaster ect... Great Pictures anyway!
jray21
Awesome videos and report! Can't wait to see more, but first, can somebody punch Dan in the balls for me? WFChris
Now that is a pre-show! That dark ride section on Superman is a great addition to the ride and a way to force a story line. Six Flags should take some note that it works much better when it is incorporated into the ride, not just making people stand in 2 rooms and a hallway watching television. Looks like a blast, guys. chickenbowl
It looks like Superman Escape may have enough enthusiast riders to finally compete in Mitch's poll!
Hockeydad
I'd never really looked much at WBMW before...what an awesome looking park! "Looks like the Redneck Batman dog." Better theming than I expected really.
beatle11
Superman looks awesome, as does the rest of the park.
robbalvey
It looks like Superman Escape may have enough enthusiast riders to finally compete in Mitch's poll! Ahahaha! Now you've given me an idea on how to throw the steel poll! I'll get all our trip members to vote Superman Escape #1 and Bizarro dead last! Perfect!!!! This will give our haters even more comedy material! I love it!!! Muahahahahahaha!!!!! --Robb
aimster
Superman looks awesome! But yeah the Superman in the back "pushing" the trains is definitely laugh-worthy. I was like "WTH!?" when I looked at the pics. Scooby Doo looks really neat! Did you get a video with the lights off too? Looks like the Scooby "AA's" in the ride are modeled after the Scooby from the more recent movies instead of the animated one. Can't wait to see more! printersdevil78
Love the POVs! Wish I had been there; I definitely would have gone for a coupe re-rides on Scooby. Thanks for posting, Robb!

I'd love to see a video of how the ride really looks if anyone knows of one! The Scooby Doo ride was seriously awesome. Much more than I expected. Really long too. Looks like the Scooby "AA's" in the ride are modeled after the Scooby from the more recent movies instead of the animated one. I think Verne Troyer played Superman for the ride, but heres to equal opportunity, a midget Superman. There's some lights off POVs of Scooby Doo on youtube I think, if you're keen. They spent $14 million AUD on Scooby, and it shows. I thought the wild mouse is the least part of the ride, but at least it has some unique elements. I wonder if they still have the nothing in pockets rule on Superman, even your back pockets? It's the most draconian policy I've come across of the 100+ parks I've been too. I got patted down by this girl because she thought I had stuff in my back pockets, I said no (which was the truth) but she didn't believe me. Not complaining about it, there's probably a business reason why (beyond !_0Cker revenue), possibly related to insurance - public liability premiums got so high in NSW, it closed some attractions. I'm told the Bugs Bunny water ride closed forever a few months back. Thanks Robb. This was one of the original Eticket type rides at the park. Surprised by this. A new attraction on the way maybe? Glad you seemed to enjoy Movie World, though i'm not there, it makes me happy to see TPR finally rode our Superman & Scooby.
therooboy
"public liability premiums got so high in NSW, it closed some attractions" Another reason the Blue Moutains coaster will probably take awhile yet to open Hoping I live to see that open one day.
