Skycoastin Steve 0
Great update Steve. The verbolten construction photos were awesome. The HD video on the sky ride was awesome. ... FWIW, I counted all the lights on Pompeii. 147,280. What do I win again? I'm eating Thanksgiving leftovers right now, you'll be getting what's left of that in about 4 hours. Great update. The structure of Verbolten's building looks so... normal. I guess the ride should be exciting, not the building I'm really looking forward to seeing what the building will look like once they finish it. The structure certainly looks ordinary, but maybe the outside will be themed up nicely (I wouldn't expect any less out of BGW). Great pictures Steve, looks like BGW does a great job with this event! I always thought that Sea World Orlando put on a great Christmas event, and it looks like they do the same in Williamsburg. And Verbolten is going to be great! Agreed about SeaWorld Orlando, I got to catch their Christmas event a few years back and was blown away. I'm really looking forward to seeing it again this year!
Erik Johnson 7
The lights are simply amazing. Thanks for posting this!
larrygator 7
To add another thing wrong with the picture...Verbolten will go through the woods and THEN over the river.... Plus what the other guy said about the inverted track. I get that the Thanksgiving song is "Over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's house we go...." but while we're being proper enthusiasts pointing out what's wrong By making this post and you saying "you get it", you are actually saying that you don't get it. jray21 0
Awesome update! Looks like it's coming along great. Can't wait!
krazekiddd 0
Wow, Pompeii looks really great! I wish I could visit BGW for Christmas.
mattnz 0
This is definitely a park on my 'must visit' list. Verbolten looks like it's going to be a great ride - good on Zierer/Busch Gardens!
forces 0
Great TR Steve!! I will be there this upcoming weekend. Didn't really like the idea of them running Alpie (versus in the past Christmastowns running Griffon) but hey, it's a coaster to ride so I am not complaining. The lights are truly amazing and the peppermint fudge hot cocoa is a tad sinful. Looking forward to seeing the progress of Verbolten in person. Excellent pics, thanks for sharing. CoasterDude211 0
Great TR! Their Christmas event looks fantastic and I'm glad it is doing well. The Pompeii lights look amazing. I really hope I can make my way to the event for next Christmas!
jet757200 0
cant wait for verbolten to open.
RoCo 0
Verbolten may be the coaster I'm most looking forward to in 2012, no joke. If it lives up to its promise... And I had no idea that this park went so balls-out for Christmas. Wow, just beautiful. That "Polar Pathway" thing is sick. Great shots, thanks!
cfc 33
Verbolten is looking great, and the park did a wonderful job "Christmasing up" Escape from Pompeii (much better than last year). I'll be checking it out next Sunday, myself. Edited November 29, 2011 by cfc
BigDipper 80 0
Very nice photos, as always. It makes me wish KI had gotten better attendance for its Winterfest and kept doing it. Busch Gardens is always beautiful, and it only looks better with all the Christmas lights. Absolutely fantastic.
rollin_n_coastin 0
Just when you think the park can't look any nicer. Great update Steve! Can't wait to see Verbolten's drop into the Rhine. It's cool seeing an event building go up with something other than a Wild Mouse in it Edited November 29, 2011 by rollin_n_coastin
Skycoastin Steve 0
Thank you a million times over to everyone for the compliments, and thank you for making this my most viewed trip report yet!
Meteornotes 0
Great photos! The park looks amazing. I don't think I'll have a chance to check this out this year, but your PTR has tempted me to see if I can make it. dt
sixflagsgadvguy1000 0
Can someone answer this for me please: Is Verbolten going to have a free fall drop, like Thirteen at Alton Towers? Not like, a coaster drop. I mean like an elevator free fall track like on Thirteen at Alton Towers.
Skycoastin Steve 0
^Yes, it is. It's going to drop vertically and then launch out of the building towards the river.
Skycoastin Steve 0
Looks like this thread is coming to an end, as it's obviously no longer 2011! Thank you to everyone who read and/or commented on any of my trip reports, and look out for the 2012 Extravaganza in the near future!! 2011 Recap: 46 parks 163 coasters ridden 88 new credits 579 total laps
Cmbgo12 0
Canobie Corkscrew hurt, that's all I really have to say about that ride. It is an Arrow, and an early one at that. As for Yankee Cannonball though, if you get in the right car at the right time (Second car with a heavier group) the old girl gives amazing airtime. Never get front row though, as much as people say either front or back row is the best on woodies. Its not true in this case.
