What a fun game! Thanks for the link.

How do they control how many times you are logged in at one time (places in line)? Is there a limit to prizes won?

Guessing they must track IPs or something, right?

I've won three times, out of about 7 attempts! Two big blue balls (ouch!) and a little pink one. Don't think any of them had anything in them, and I think I'll only get the first blue ball (as it said you can continue to play, but only win once).

The guy in front of me is saying that he got a clear ball with a package inside - won $1K!

Hmmmm....

I can't imagine that's true. There are all sorts of crazy legalities you have to deal with if you start giving away cash on line. It's one thing if you give away a plastic ball or some random crappy prize where the actual retail value is very little, but to give away $1,000 all of a sudden you have to start dealing with gaming laws, tax laws, age restrictions, etc....

I call shinanigans on that claim....

^Nice!

Just finished yet another failing game due to my work's slow network (which should remind me not to try there from this point on). The motions were so choppy, took 10 seconds before I even saw the claw move...so it was almost playing it blindly. Funny thing was in the end, I almost had a giant yellow ball. Back in line again, got right in as opposed to spending 5 minutes to get in line last week.

^^^ I nearly called shinanigans in the IM session we had going on, but thought better of it. Of course, he/she also thought that the 10,000th player won $2K - of which I did call them out on. I was like, umm, no they didn't, the sign said, "Congrats to (enter players name) our 10,000 player! Where the heck did you get that from". Their reply was, "the sign"...

I thought to myself - Ah huh, drink your special juice Shelby, drink your juice. Whack job!

This has been a great thread to follow.

Though in that radio interview from a page back they said that the Santa Claw may only be on for another month. (I hope not) This has been far to entertaining to this point.

A little publicity goes a long way, so between TPR and other media outlets, hopefully the Santa Claw will live on for a while.

Afterall, it is free shipping for them and us (I think there's no out of pocket for them, could be wrong).

I highly doubt shipping is free for them. I don't know of any shipping service in the world that would ship as many packages as they have winners.... for nothing.

This topic is now the top google result for "The Santa Claw"!!

An hour and a half until my next turn, I love this thing! I hope they find a buyer who can keep this running, maybe an ad funded site where you just pay for shipping or something. That would be awesome!

I'm currently in line 7 times all within 20 minutes of each other. Sometimes having multiple email addresses and Twitter accounts pays off! I got to see them refill the machine, they look so tiny in there!

I was also able to get in touch with Real Art Design and i'll be walking over there on Friday for a little bit and get a quick tour around the place. Any questions you want me to ask? Expect a Santa Claw photo trip report!

Gah, I had to drop out of line yesterday with 26 minutes left. I was just barely going to make it before I had to leave work (would've had to stay late about 5 minutes), but they stopped at 26 minutes left to refill and it would have pushed me way past quitting time. I was so frustrated. But I'm back in line now with 5 hours and 50 minutes to go. Had no problem getting in line this morning.
