Here is my guide to everything Kings Dominion. It includes the rides, strategies, pictures, food, Waterworks and more.

Now I wasn't planning on making a Photo TR, but I realized lately that I have a good amount of Kings Dominion photos from my season. So I'll call this a Photo YR, for year report. This includes the multiple times I went this year and East Coast Bash, so sit back and enjoy this forgettable "YR" that really has no importance other than for me to amuse myself. Wait a minute...

Anyways, most of the pictures are taken from a camera phone. The black bars annoy me to no end.

I stumbled across the back of a restroom for reasons you can only dream about knowing, and took this of a sort of roller coasters in the Congo in their natural habitat. Intimidator 305 stalks over it's prey.

Speaking of i305, I don't care what anyone says, the ride is still amazing, trims or not. Although it broke down at least once every visit, (particularly one on April 17th....every hour it would get stuck on the top of the lift hill for long periods of time. Whenever I rode it, it would stop for half a second in the same spot on the lift hill, then resume it's ascent.)

May 22nd was a rainy Sunday, but it only rained for about an hour of the day. Because it was supposed to rain the entire day, the park was nearly empty...and so was Intimidator! I was the only one in the station (and possibly the whole queue...I don't remember!). But of course they didn't allow rerides, so we had to exit and walk all the way around to get on again. Bah.

We waited in line for i305 as the small amount of rain settled down. Once the park announced over intercom the rides would reopen, everyone cheered. Yaay. Um..so Volcano was back there, too. It gave me many amazing rides, but a few were- dare I say it- a little rough. A lot disagree with me on this, and even I disagree with myself a little too...because yes that is possible. Anyways, on the first turn around the mountain, I would bump my head quite a few times on the retraints, also the transitions between heartline roles. It's still a great ride nonetheless!

Whaa-? East Coast Bash, you say? I've never heard of such a thing!

Nope! Is it a type of salad?

Shiny. Too shiny

Hello i am behind a fence, doing behind the fence things.

Hello Rebel Yell. Poor, poor, neglected Rebel Yell.

Anaconda. I don't like it much, it hurts a lot, but I always ride it at least once in a visit. I got a solo-ride on it, which is always pretty cool. My only complaint is how the effect used to make it seem the coaster is submerged under the water is so hidden. What's the point of water cannons if no one knows to look for them?

Back to Intimidator, I lost track of how many times I've ridden it. At least 30+ I prefer the back row than the front row for some reason, though....I've ridden in the front row way less times than the back, because the back is that much more intense....

And I wonder how different this picture would look if it were taken in 2011....

Same with this one

Mess of red track.

So what, you're high in the sky. Who cares.

So that's all of the phone pictures I'll share with you all. Better late than never, I always say. Well I don't always say it. And these phone pictures are pretty crappy.

Intimidator 305: 10/10

Suggestions: Second to last seat. Only go for front if the line is shorter.

Flight of Fear: 8/10

Opinion: What a great ride! If only they would turn ALL of the lights off. The lap bars give you more freedom, although your legs may find it to be a tight fit.

Suggestions: Go for the front seat, it's the best. Some GP think the front seat won't be good because it's inside....fools! If possible, ignore if the line reaches outside the building.

Volcano: 8/10

Suggestions: As usual, go for the front seat. I typically ignore it if the line reaches out of the mountain. When the line reaches the last set of..."zig-zags" it's usually around a 25 minute wait.

Dominator: 7/10

Opinion: I love how now, once you enter the park, you're greeted with a nice floorless. Although it's now getting some of that dreaded headbanging, it's much smoother in the front.

Suggestions: DO NOT go to this once you enter the park. Wait until mid afternoon, around 4:00. On a good day you'll find the line to be nearly empty. (A good day meaning any day other than Saturdays and some holidays). Front seat preferred, but don't go for a middle seat, I find them to be boring. If you chose the back you'll have to deal with some headbanging, though it's nothing serious.

Anaconda: 6/10

Opinion: ....eh. Always worth a ride though.

Suggestions: Although I've never seen this happen before, if the line is back to the lake, DO NOT RIDE. It' not worth it. I always go for the front seat, but really it's not much better than any of the others. You'll bang your head a lot on this one, especially after the MCBR. What I do is puff my chest out against the restraints and it reduces the pain a bit. It offers some great views of i305, too. You'll have plenty of time looking at it with the slow, Arrow chain lift.

Rebel Yell: 6/10

Opinion: Not as airtime-filled as I'd want it to be, my favorite when I was younger.

Suggestion: Go for the back seat. The front seat isn't worth it. The red train is usually smoother than the blue. If they are running one-train operation, be prepared for a LONG wait. The line was barely out of the station when I ended up waiting about 20 minutes for it. No joke. They dispatched a train every 5 minutes or so.

Grizzly: 7/10

Opinion: Though rough, it proves itself to be a fun ride.

Suggestions: Don't ride if you have back problems....and don't put your hands too far up in the tunnel!

Hurler: 6/10

Opinion: Not as bad as people make it out to be.

Suggestions: Though rare, don't ride if the line is out of the station. This most of the time has a one train operation (I haven't seen it with more than one). It has some good moments of airtime, but the first turn can be rough. It really isn't all that rough, though. Give it a shot.

Ricochet: 6/10

Opinion: A good ride.

Suggestion: I don't have much experience with other Wild Mouse coasters, but the first drop almost always catches me by surprise. Front preferred.

Ghoster Coaster: 5/10

Opinion: Great for the little kids.

Suggestion: Front row doesn't make much of a difference.

Backlot Stunt Coaster: 5/10

Opinion: Although not the ride it used to be, it's still a good one.

Suggestion: It can be a LITTLE rough, but don't let thats top you from riding. It's not the most thrilling, but it's a good "in-betweener" for all the larger ones.

Shockwave: N/A

I still won't make myself ride this. Next season I will, though....

Taxi Jam: N/A

Rode this when I was younger, not much to remember. Perfect for those credit whores!

Avalanche: 6/10

Opinion: Takes you by surprise!

Suggestion: The line will take forever if it's all the way back to the entrance. Front row isn't all that necessary. It takes you right over the pathway, so don't forget to wave to any onlookers!

Drop Tower: Scream Zone: 8/10

Opinion: Can't get enough of this ride. Scares me every time!

Suggestion: Take a spin on this at least once, it's one of my favorite drop towers I've ridden. Any seat will give you great views. The operators will always mess around with you!

Any other flat rides you can decide amongst yourself if you're up to the task of riding it. My favorite place to eat has always been Panda Express, but they've got a lot more to offer. To avoid costs, what I do is to get free cups of ice water for my drinks. Saves a lot of money over the course of a season, or even a day!

I've only been to WaterWorks once, and here's all I have to say" don't miss the rides beyond Rebel Yell! I missed it one of the first times I went, and it holds my favorite; Pipeline Peak! The Tornado always is fun as well.

Avoid 4th of July, Saturdays, and Memorial Day Weekend at all times. They can be very busy! Any other day should be fine. Kings Dominion is a great park and always worth a visit.

To the little of you who read the whole thing, I hope you enjoyed it. And try not to forget everything within the next couple of hours.
