I got cookies from Albertson's yesterday that are Christmas cookies; so today I went to get one and it said "Hoilday Cookies" even though there is a Santa Claus as the logo and a Santa Claus with a bag as the cookie shape, Common!

I feel the same with "Holiday Tree," its not like other religioned will go buy them if they are called "Holiday Trees." And if they are trying to change Christmas Trees' name, why dont they call a Monorah a "Holiday Candle Holder" then? :?

^ Don't even get me started.

Tony Blair's Christmas cards this year apparently will say something generic about "Happy Holidays" or "Festive Season"... It's all to do with the supposed racial tension caused by various events including the 7/7 bombings. I accept that there is racial tension in Britain, to a certain extent, although it's greatly exaggerated for the most part. Right near my university there is a heavily populated Muslim area, and during the festival of Eid last month, many of the white students celebrated with the Muslims. And I have never yet met a Muslim person (or a person of any other religion for that matter) who has been offended by Christmas in any way.

I love that I live in a multicultural city, I respect the beliefs of people of other religions, and I get the same respect back from them. Refusing to use the word "Christmas" in my opinion only creates racial tension by emphasising the differences between us instead of bringing us together.

Phew, I feel better now!

So I always get crap from Karen when I get something for myself that I want and she wishes she could have gotten for me. So anyway, Trey Ananastaio of Phish is playing in San Francisco this Friday and Saturday. I didn’t buy tickets I just kept telling Karen about it. I started telling her about it about a month and half ago. I’d figure I would give her a shot.

So guess who doesn’t have tickets for Trey tonight, and most likely tomorrow.

Sorry to hear Wally.

And - not that this is helping matters - I try to make it a rule of (my) thumb, that if such an event or concert is in December itself, and I know well enough ahead of time? I usually buy the tix I want, then tell "the other half" what I got/bought, etc.

If they get mad - well, their happiness pie is they didn't have to fork over the bucks to buy it/them for you, hmm?

Unless the concert/event is in the new year, even January, it's dicey for these kind of dated events. Any time of this month...

Still - sorry you may miss it.

I don't remember where I read this, but I really agree: I hate it when news reporters try on an "authentic" accent when they pronounce a place or city in a different country.

"In other news, the fine country of Meh--hee-ko is celebrating ell--deah-de-loz-mwewtos today..."

That really blows Wally. Though she let you down, at least she only gets mad at you because SHE wanted to get the item for you. My last girlfriend got mad at me when I bought something for myself because she thought I should be spending the money on her! Then again, there wasn't much that she didn't criticize me for.

My David's teeth and jaw are hurting more today, after he got a back molar extracted on Wednesday.

Now, it might be too painful for him to accompany me to the three (3!) parties we have to get thru this afternoon and evening.

He's gone to get stronger meds, but it blows nonetheless.

I would rather stay home and help him get better, but he's going to try going out and see what happens.

Not a real 'rant' I know, but still - dentistry work sucks, when it's still hurting 3 days after the work's been done.

Yes, that does suck very much. I hope for David's speedy recovery. I have to get a second root canal on Wednesday, and I'm not looking forward to it .

BTW, I just remembered I have an appointment on Monday for a mammogram (yes, you read that right  ). Good news is that my bump hasn't gotten any bigger.

^ Sometimes it's great to work in groups on a certain project. We have one class project in my Digital Editing I class and the 5 of us have put in countless hours into producing and editing this training video for the carmel elementary school. I myself have put in 14 hours alone on editing, most of it was fine tune editing. Today I'm going to meet up with my teacher and present him the final product so I can get the final word to convert it to a movie and dump it onto a tape.

If my fellow classmates didn't help, it would have taken me longer to do everything.

Oh, I forgot to mention something to you, if you do have one person slacking on the group project, inform your teacher so that he/she can grade the people who actually did work and the slacker won't get a good grade.
