"It's also a sad thing when a parent has to bury their kids." (Terry)

I'll take that statement one step further and say that I think it's the very worst thing that a parent would ever have to do.

My mom got to do that when my sister passed away from cancer back in 1999 at the "ripe old" age of 37. And one of her granddaughters (in fact, the daughter of my sister who died) has been having some health problems, including an "almost positive" test for HPV. And she's only 22 with a four-year-old son.

Terry, it's great that your friend had such a nice memorial service. The one for my sister had 300 people show up (standing room only) and went on for over two hours because of everyone who wanted to get up and say something.

Sometimes things happen that you have no control over, but it just emphasizes the fact that we all should work to take care of ourselves the very best we can.

I just got back from Hume Lake's Meadow Ranch camp, which was absolutely amazing. But one thing that sucked about it was the people they put in my cabin. Only two out of 7 people were at all cool. I'm going to list the reasons. Why? Because I need to vent.

Connor: He's just plain annoying. A typical annoying person.

Hunter: Pretty much a grade-A dork. He never gets jokes or sarcasm, and he always corrects people when they do anything out of perfection. And he has is own custom DVD website, which is extra freaky because he's just now going into 7th grade. I'm dead serious.

Ben T: The other 8th grader in the cabin. To sum him up in one sentence, it's easy. He doesn't say crap or anything like that, when he's mad or something, he says "Poopyface". No joke. 8th grade. Otherwise, besides the DVD thing, he's the same as Hunter.

Ben F: Too sarcastic. Not that bad, but it gets annoying really fast.

Andres: Aw man, here's the real crap. A 7th grader that weighs 180 pounds. Not that I have anything against fatties, but the problem is he likes to walk around the cabin shirtless. And he thinks I'm his best friend, so he follows me around and talks about stupid things like Stumpy, who is a character in a scary story based around Hume Lake. Like, he asks things like "What does he eat?" "What does he do for fun?" "Why doesn't he just make friends with the campers instead of killing them?". Yeah. And he's stupid, like he spelled "feet" wrong in this sign he made. As in "Wash Your Feat".

BONUS IDIOT! Mermon: Just the name alone scares me. He has this weird look in his eyes, like one is wide open and one is squinting. Always. And I don't even know him, yet he follows me around and acts like my best friend like Andres.

Current annoyance: people who abuse their power.

At the moment, I am working as an intern at a hospital. It's unpaid, so I have to have a part time job at a coffee shop as a Barista. I don't mind because I really enjoy working at a coffee shop! It's fun, my co-workers are nice, and it's a great way to practice my English. However, my shift supervisor is completely intolerable. She is 19 years old and feels like she has the most important job in the world because she is in charge of giving us hours. If she doesn't like you, she doesn't give you hours but if she does... you'll be working non-stop and making big pay checks. Unfortunately, I am not on her good side and I honestly do not know why.

Yesterday, I asked whether or not I could have today off because there was a surgery at the hospital that I really wanted to sit in on. She told me I could, only if I found a person who could cover my shift. I thought that was understandable but a little annoying as we both knew on Sunday there was going to be 8 people working the bar and technically our shop only needs 4 people since it is so small. So, I call over 20 people to try and get my shift covered but was not successful.

Since no one could cover my shift, I had to wake up early and go to work today. When I got there though, there was already 9 people working (much too many) and as soon as my shift supervisor saw me, she told me that she didn't need me to work today. I asked her, "Why did you tell me to come in when I told you I wanted to sit in on a surgery this morning when you knew there was going to be enough Baristas?" And her response was... "Because I am the shift supervisor, and what I say goes."

I was furious, because not only did I waste time, I wasn't able to learn anything at the hospital this morning. It's so annoying when someone is given just a little bit of authority, and they abuse it.

Have Mercy:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080805/ap_on_fe_st/911_casino_call

TAMPA, Fla. - A second Florida man has been arrested on charges of making false 911 calls in as many days. An arrest report says 47-year-old Carlos Gutierrez was at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino early Monday and called 911 to say the slot machine stole his money. The report says Gutierrez left the casino to place a second 911 call to say the same thing.

He was arrested and charged with making a false 911 call. He's being held with no bail set.

On Sunday another man was arrested after calling 911 five times during an argument with his brother. He demanded that dispatchers send deputies to help sort things out.

And in northern Florida last week, a Jacksonville man called 911 to complain that a Subway left the sauce off a spicy Italian sandwich.

I don't know what to say...

Ugh. Yesterday (today) I spent the night at my friend's house, for his birthday. I thought it would just be us and a couple of other cool people hanging around playing video games, until one person showed up that I did not expect: Kendall. He was the bassist in my old band, and he's a huge moron. He spent the entire night playing Call Of Duty 4 or complaining to everybody. And whenever we were going to watch a movie, before everybody else got their say, he would walk up to the DVD rack and choose some dumb R-rated bloodfest, or some dumb movie like Dead Or Alive.

Yeah. That's the one thing that made last night suck. It could have been better, after all, we saw Hancock! (Which was awesome!)

Hmmm... I hate it when adults keep telling minors like me how much life is going to suck and how we need to get our act together blahblahblah...

Sorry but one day, ONE DAY we will be adults too and we will have to deal with all the crap that you guys do. Shouldnt we get to enjoy our free teenager lifestyle while we still can.

^ & ^^Well you both might want to listen. They're trying to make sure you don't make the same mistakes they did or to keep you from making your life harder than it should be.

Some of the things my father told me and I didn't listen came about when I was older and bit me in my a$$. I wish I would have paid attention. After a while, I started remembering what he said and kept the crap to a minimum. I try to warn people too, but it's their decision. I just don't want them crying to me when it blows up in their face (trust me I've hung up on many people instead of saying "I told you so"). They've been warned. Kids that don't listen and rush in that stuff are gonna be MESSED UP later. Do yourself a favor and pay attention.

Anyway, speaking of kids:

http://sun-sentinel.com/news/nationworld/sfl-0806teenstabbing,0,3695721.story

A Volusia County teenager is accused of stabbing his father with a miniature sword because he was upset his father wanted to give him a haircut.

According to a sheriff's office report, the 15-yeaer-old Deltona boy told deputies he gave his father more than one warning to stay away Monday afternoon. The teen was charged with aggravated battery causing bodily harm. He was taken to a juvenile detention center.

Meanwhile, the father was taken to a hospital where he was treated for the wound on his hand.

Deputies say the teen had said he was afraid his father was going to hit him and threw a bag of seashells at him before stabbing him.

Real smart. Now I bet the kid and his uncut hair will now need a place to live. He's gonna find out fun it is gonna be in the Florida juvenile system. It's not cute. Should have cut the hair and stayed home. These kids...

my RAM is almost full ad now I can't download world of warcraft.

On a side note, I'm really pissed at this kid I used to hang out with. I saw him at school and I was listening to my Ipod. He pulls the headphones out of my ears (and it gave me a cut because last week he took the rubber off one) and starts to listen. I was listening to American Idiot by greenday and he goes "American Chicken? this is a great song!" so I tell him that the song is called American Idiot and he goes "Oh my goodness you said the 'I' word!!!"

My internet hasnt been working right for a month now and my ISP hasn't fixed it yet!

Thats almost exactly my problem, except for the fact that it is that our ISP gave us a piece of crap modem/router, and they don't work.
