Sidra
Never had a restraint pop open before, but I remember being very young, probably 5 on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad sharing the seat and lap bar with my father and him having to yank me back down in the seat as the lap bar wasn't on me at all after a pop up and some air. There are very few rides that I worry about the restraints, but there is one of them that always makes me wonder... and its one of my favorite rides... Deju Vu, you get pulled up that first spike, especially sitting in the back and your full weight on that otsr staring down at the ground... man I love that ride. boywholaughed
De Ja Vu at SFMM. My Thing was open, and i mean open. It was opening to at least 60 degrees. The ride ops locked it in, but then we got stuck on the first vertical lift and It popped out again. I had no choice but to practically stand on the seat in front of me. No, I am not lying. It did happen. I wasn't even scared. I knew that gravity and peak physical fitness was on my side. I had no worries edit** ^ well whaddyaknow? I lived your nightmare... liftsifter
To this day, i will not ride American Ealge BLUE at SFGAm. I was just having fun riding, and right when we hit the brakes after the huge ass helix, my lap bar popped open, and wouldn't pull back down, I eventually just held on to dear life. That was a horrifying experience, given Blue side is incredibly rough, and offers an extreme amount of ejector..
cosmic hearse
Yes, it was on Jaguar at Knotts so it wasn't too scary though it was surprising. It was about half way through the ride and it just popped open and I pulled it back down and it stayed down for the rest of the ride.
coffguy
I was at Kings Island on a school trip and on Firehawk and I felt just a little loose in the car but i ignored it because I've felt that before on X-Flight. But, when the car went parallel to the ground, the lap bar undid about 3 clicks and I was about 5 inches off my seat. Being that far off your seat on a flying coaster makes you feel like your literally about to slide out. Haven't riden it since.
Pablo237
I was on a drop ride at Enchanted Island and I put the seat belt on. We went up and then I saw the seat belt wasn't attached to the seat. The leather belt was torn from the seat. suddenly the seat belt fell down. So I told my brother next to me and we called down to stop the ride. The other 2 people saw I wasn't attached and soon everybody on the ride was yelling to stop. We were almost up the whole way and the woman pressed the stop but then suddenly didn't know how to send the thing down. The people next to me and my brother were holding me up. after maybe 30 minutes a bunch of people gathered to see me. it was pretty scary. I don't remember how high we were but it was a long way down. finally employees came and the drop ride came down.

I always feel like I'm falling out. It gives my shins near my ankles quite the bruising, as my entire weight is on them due to the design of the restraint. I have no problems on B&M flyers. rcroques
It did happen a couple times on Psyclone when I worked there... then again, that's no surprise because that ride was pretty haphazardly maintained. The OTSR on Viper popped halfway while I was on it... and the train was in the loop at the time. That was the closest I've come to panicking on a roller coaster.
