What is the most random thing you've encountered at a park?

Recommended Posts

In 2008 I went on a East Coast trip with my friend Zingoman and others and what happened at Coney Island was the stranged thing ever.

We were walking up to the Cyclone and some guy asked us if we wanted to see his friends alligator. We kindly declined but he insisted, so we agreed. We walked into the depressing remains of Astroland and sure enough there was a guy with a conversion van sitting there waiting for us. He pulled out a tiny little gator and we were rather confused. Then he just started putting it in our hands. Then there was a rooster, and an iguana. Then the real gator. Here are pics, take a look

This looks like it could have easily ended with you being cut up and fed to the alligator. I'm glad it didn't... but still.

THe oddest thing was when I was with Scott (aka Fire Haired Boy) waiting for Cheetah Chase and this 8-10 year old kid was motorboating his overweight mother. This was both on his own accord and her shoving him in. And it went on for a good 15 minutes. Disturbing. I have a pic on my phone, that I should upload at some point.

A stereotypical wigger in line for Bizarro at SFGAdv who was told to get to the back of the line by an employee because he cut in line. He refused and eventually the employee threatened to call security, he then said to the employee "Oh you're just a bitch ass n***a".

He got kicked out of the park. It was glorious.

At Dorney in August 2008:

First, in line for Patriot's Plunge (tube slides), people thought the Wildwater Rapids slides (body slides) were for Patriot's Plunge (the stairs run parallel to each other) and were worried how the tubes would fit in the slides. Then someone was afraid the real Patriot's Plunge slides were too small and they would hit their head in the slide.

At the platform of Wildwater Rapids, there are 2 fathers each with their kid. One was around 7 or 8, the other 9 or 10. Not only did one of the kid have socks on, both kids were crying and didn't want to go on the slides. One father was pushing his son to the slide and the kid was going crazy. Meanwhile, no one else was able to slide while this was going on. The lifeguard told them to get to the side while the line started to move so I don't know what happened.

Then in line again for Wildwater Rapids which are body slides, I see 3 kids jump from the Patriot's Plunge line and get into the line for Wildwater Rapids, with their tubes! Then 2 adults follow them and another group of 4 kids also jump the fence and get in line. They weren't together so 3 separate groups get up to the platform and are surprised when they find out you can't take tubes on the slides. They left them up on the platform.

Now for the worst, about 20 minutes later (I kept alternating between Patriot's Plunge and Wildwater Rapids), I see 2 kids coming up the stairs for Wildwater Rapids with tubes. They must have jumped the fence as well. They see no one else has tubes and one of them asks me if you need tubes for these slides. I tell them no, and I thought they would just leave their tubes at the slide platform when they got to the top.

Well these 2 idiots decide to throw their tubes over the staircase and they could have easily landed on a walkway and hit someone since they were about 30 feet up. Both of the tubes land under the slide complex where supports are and of course is a restricted area. As if that isn't bad enough, I see another kid maybe their friend jump the fence to get into the area under the slide complex to get the tube. I didn't see what happened next but one tube was still there at closing time.

I waited 2 hours for Top Thrill Dragster, and in front of me was a group of high schoolers, and one of them was extremely drunk. Probably blacked out, swinging from wild and belligerent to barely lucid. After 2 hours of this he tries to board, where the group was detained (ride stopped too, for about 10 minutes) until the police arrive and arrest him, and escort the whole of the group away.

Needless to say, I was pretty annoyed in line, so it felt like justice to me.

This is BY FAR the most random thing I've ever heard of happening to anyone at an amusement park. That was damn brave of you guys to get that close to some random alligator. Those things can take out an eye! Or an arm. And the van has an Alaska plate... Does the story get any weirder, or was that all of it?

I think the guy with the alligator, rooster, and iguana takes the cake in weirdness. Why does some random stranger ask 3 other random strangers to look at his animals? I would think he wanted to ass rape me!

BTW, I had to Google "motorboating." Now I am disturbed by the thought of what the kid did to his mom.

hmmm...gator....so that's what they are calling "IT" now. very random indeed. I can see this thread getting entertaining, and certainly the original post, I doubt anyone can top that.

I don't think this qualifies as random, but I was on the drop tower at KI when some kid puked from the top. Good thing the queue was under roof, the crowd however, not so lucky.

Two guys on electric scooters in the exit area of Spaceship Earth at Epcot. The guy in front hits the control to move forward, but instead goes in reverse and smacks the scooter behind him. I had to wait till I got outside before I could laugh.

Another time, at SFMM, as I was leaving Psyclone, some people walking toward it said that it looked like the freeway overpasses. (They were referring to the timbers that held up a few of the ones in the area that had been weakened by the Northridge earthquake in 1994.)

This is more strange than random! but......at Disney everyone ignores the cast members when they tell them to move all the way in but when cartoon guys on screens or announcements tell them to everyone does!

It's like a voodoo curse!

Netcot pointed this one out to me, i had never realised it before a recent trip to Disneyland when i noticed it first hand!

RANDOM

Leaving EPCOT after Illuminations in October, we saw a couple fight. Their topic for this fight was over which was better Wishes or Illuminations. The girlfriend was screaming "Why don't you give Wishes a chance !?!?!" and her slapping him. The fight lasted the entire time it took my party to exit (20 minutes with pin trading) and went the entire length of future world. The last we saw was she had him by the shirt hockey style screaming at him about giving Wishes a chance as cast members looked on confused. Who knew WDW fireworks could cause a violent fight.

^ Your fountain story reminded me of a fountain story of my own, and I remembered that I took a picture of it as well.

So I was at Kennywood in 2008 and that rock work and fountain between the Turtles and the Lost Kennywood entrance had a bunch of kids just climbing all over it and not a single parent, employee or anybody seemed to care. They just climbed all over it for a while so I took a pic.

This made me ROTFL! These are obviously Disney fanboys who take the parks way too seriously.
