themeparkgc
The intamin is in Australia and the first part is in Dubai. You beat me to it! I know that coaster all too well... It's not Superman Escape in Australia. Its trains have a slightly different front with no air holes. Storm Runner at Hersheypark on the other hand has a similar front. I'm thinking this photo was a reference to the Hersheys store from a few pages back. Edited May 12, 2013 by ernierocker

BigDipper 80
If you look really closely at the front of that train, it appears that its wheels do not quite line up with the track. I think someone in Dubai Marketing decided to Photoshop a new front car onto Superman Escape's trains. But why, I have no idea. Â That pentagon logo looks oddly familiar. I know that I've seen it, but I don't remember where. Edited December 7, 2010 by BigDipper

TheCoasterTaco
For today's clues, I believe you went to the Palm Juremiah, Atlantis Hotel on the Palm Juremiah, Aquaventure waterpark at the Atlantis Hotel, The Leap of Faith Tower at Aquaventure, the Mosque at Sheikh Zayad on 83 B St., Magnolia Bakery in Bloomingdales (you can find this in New York City and Los Angeles [cupcakes are in the box]), the Burj Dubai, and Ski Dubai. Going towards the hotel. Â At the hotel. Â The road you were looking at on the top of the tower. Â The mosque you took a picture of. Â Same view of the picture you took, but at night. Â View of the fountains at the top. Â Same view going down the slopes, except it doesn't have Robb's lovely face in it. Â P.S. Google Earth helps A LOT!! Use this fantastic tool guys. That's how I found every picture and location.

PKI Jizzman
Opening Late 2010 - New Park - (12/7/10) Screamscape sources tell us that Ferrari World is having a minor bit of technical difficulty with Formula Rossa, and the ride has been closed since last Thursday. It’s worth noting that apparently this isn’t a hardware malfunction at all, but rather some kind of computer glitch, so Intamin is off the hook. Look for it to remain closed for at least the next week or two.  Hope things still go well!

Oddly enough I haven't gotten any "sense of urgency" from them to get the ride operational as they told us there was basically a part sitting on someone's desk that they needed to fly down to the park. The ride broke down on Thursday night, and it's now Tuesday. Crazy that it's still not operating if all they needed to do was to put a part on a plane, pop it into a computer, and turn it on.  On the plus side - this region of the world as far exceeded any of our expectations and there has been plenty of awesome to keep us occupied, and we have already been talking about a return trip...maybe even doing something a bit more official with a small TPR group!  --Robb Edited December 7, 2010 by robbalvey

robbalvey
^ The 14 hour flight was really the worst part about it! But overall, the location and everything out here has far exceeded what we thought. I'll be honest, it's no Japan...but it's probably right up there with the better parts of China or S. Korea for me. robbalvey
Let me guess you traveled all that way and it is closed I know it's probably hard for some people to understand this - but Formula Rossa was not the main reason for us to come to the UAE. We have been talking about Dubai for a few years now, and yes, Rossa was one of the reasons, but the fact that we got to come to part of the world we have never been to before, spend a few days exploring, and getting do a lot of amazing fun things by far makes up for missing one coaster. We pretty much knew that the ride would be closed our entire visit from day one of us getting here. At any point in this update, did it look like that put a damper on our trip? Â And keep in mind, we travel all over the world all time. It's not as though this was going to be our "chance of a lifetime" to ride one coaster. If it was really that big of a deal to us, we would extend our stay out here as there is nothing stopping us from doing that. We just don't really care THAT much. Â I have a feeling you'll see us back here sooner than later as we really liked this part of the world. Â --Robb "We really weren't bummed because we are having an awesome time." Noxegon
At any point in this update, did it look like that put a damper on our trip? Â Er, well Elissa *is* wearing a rain coat... Â I have a feeling you'll see us back here sooner than later as we really liked this part of the world. Â Understood; I have to say I really liked the UAE too. Honestly, I'd say the only thing holding it back as a tourist destination is the inability to get beer in many restaurants. It doesn't bother me at all, but the average european traveller wants to be able to have a few pints during their holiday.
robbalvey
^ You just have to go to a restaurant that is part of a hotel complex. For example, this Wagamama we are at now is technically part of the Crowne Plaza (although it's not inside the hotel, but next to it), and they serve beer.
