Due to my location, I don't really have an off-season, but during the winter (especially December to March), park visits take a backseat to two other things: school and skiing. Mechanical Engineering is not an easy major, so I have a lot of schoolwork, and since I can visit the parks year-round but can only ski for a few months out of the year (dependent on where I go), I'd rather do that in most cases. If life ever gets excessively dull, however, I will pull out my TPR DVDs, play RCT3, and/or study parks I plan to visit in the coming summer.

I will be making a wild trip real soon that is cool and theme park related. I'll be starting a thread about that excursion in the near future. Stay Tuned!

Other than that, I get to scan maps for the Park Index and review the hundreds of PTRs that TPR members have submitted for inclusion in the Park Index.

It's the annual invasion of Texans into Colorado.

It really annoys me when I go somewhere, and all the out-of-state people who have never been down slopes before fall every 10 feet and make some areas really congested. If you come, just don't clog up the runs here, okay?

My off-season only lasts about 9 weeks, and with trips planned to AZ and CA, this year I should've have much of an off-season. But, I suppose during the downtime I do have, I will catch up on reports, College Football, a few concerts blowing thru, oh, and continue to search for new employment.

No problem. Unlike most Texans I do know how to ski. I also don't wear blue jeans with scotch guard on the slopes.

Here in germany there're carnivals and Christmas-markets with rides up to christmas - and the spring carnivals start early march - so you can do some carnival-hopping.

In 2013 I'll go to Orlando in late-Jan, early-Feb to do Disney, Universal and Busch...

An interesting fact: Last year the Teststrecke - former Laser, Schwarzkopf double-loop - was at the christmas-market in Berlin at the Alexanderplatz and weather was freezing. They've a TÃœV-permission for freezing temperatures operation but the ride-attendents had to free the track from freshly fallen snow each morning....

My home park (Busch Gardens Tampa) is open year-round, so no real withdrawal symptoms for me. Think I might hit the park one day next week for a Cheetah Hunt and Kumba fix.

Though in between visits, I do love watching the Coaster Expedition videos I've downloaded... and of course Drunk Piers (he seriously needs his own "fan" page on Facebook) videos are always good for a laugh.

I had a great season, starting in Florida with a bunch of Orlando parks in February, and then getting to visit some of Italy's best!

I'll most likely occupy myself with coaster videos and coaster computer games.... Although Rainbow Magicland has limited openings during this month and December, and I have a few free admission tickets remaining....

I usually only manage one trip a year since I live so far away from any parks, so in the off-season I start thinking about where/when I want to go the next year, who I might take with me, and how I'll finance the trip.

After this semester, I have one more semester before I graduate with my AA and transfer. Right now I'm trying to finish applications, keep excellent grades, and decide where I want to go next and how to finance it. I also do a TON of extra-curricular activities so my time is very much spent.

Also, I've been planning my next tattoo which will be coaster-related. I've been conversing with the tattoo artist for a while now but so far we haven't figured out a sure design yet, but we're getting closer to a breakthrough.

My 21st birthday is a week from today so I'm figuring out how to spend the money I have + the next paychecks I will get in the next few weeks + birthday money.

Porn! Lots and lots of porn! And Football.

However, I too have a short off season, as we still have Dollywood Christmas, and I usually work one last gig in Cali before the end of the year. Plus awards season starts at the beginning of the year. January through June is a very busy time for me.

  • 3 weeks later...

Usually i just swap out theme parks for other hobbies, like music and video gaming. When im not doing that im either at school or work. This year I really want to go to a park with some holiday hours for a last little fix before I begin the long cold season
