jedimaster1227
http://www.facebook.com/martinsfantasyisland Martin's Fantasy Island 50th Anniversary Celebration! 2011 will be the 50th Anniversary season at Martin’s Fantasy Island! In addition to all the current rides and attractions, Western New York’s favorite family theme park will feature NEW thrill rides, and will bring back some of the most popular rides and shows of the last fifty years. Stay tuned for details! This spectacular NEW thrill ride will come to Martin’s Fantasy Island just in time for the 50th Anniversary in 2011. It will be the first of its kind in North America, and is one of only five in the entire world. It loops riders up into the sky and down again, all the while spinning them upside down and right-side up, over and over! The public will have a chance to help name the ride in the spring of 2011. robbalvey
Awesome! I love crazy flat rides like this. Looks similar to that thing Power Park in Finland had:
cal1br3tto
That ride looks INTENSE! At first glance it reminds me of an Evolution (scariest flat I've ridden) and a Spin Out.
SharkTums
They're really changing the skyline at that park! I love that some of these smaller parks are getting braver and bringing in some Europe Flat Rides of Death!!!
krazekiddd
Wow, that looks really awesome! I want to ride!!!
beatle11
Very cool. I will have to go check it out next year. As for the name, the 50th anniversary is traditionally known as the gold anniversary, so I think working the word "gold" into the name would be cool. redmenace8
Awesome! I love crazy flat rides like this. Looks similar to that thing Power Park in Finland had: You are absolutely right about that Robb. The new ride appears to be a new design out of Technical Park, called "Loop Fighter" based directly on their Pegasus model in the picture. I read somewhere they have a gentlemen's agreement to use that base design from KMG, That base design is identical to KMG's Freakout and Inversion. I am really surprised and pleased that this little park took a leap with such a new design. I just came across it a few days ago while looking for info about that new monster ride from KMG- Mission Space. I thought this ride looked so awesome and fun. It seems to have come out this year. The fact that the U.S. gets one so quick, ahead of the usual suspects in Europe is so cool, too. Finally. A search of Youtube seems to show only one other version traveling one in Spain. DBru
I can't wait to see this thing in action. *drool* Edit: Haha! That sounded funny.
thrillerman1
They're really changing the skyline at that park! Philrad71
Oh my goodness...a juicy flat ride of death so close to my home. I love it! Also curious to see what other rides they'll be bringing back to the park for their anniversary!
BarryH
I would name the ride..."Holy S***!"
samisthabomb
Is that a KMG Inversion ride?
jray21
Kind of reminds me of the ride at the Olympia Looping park during the Europe trip. That was an incredible ride. I can't imagine how much throw up will be flying off of that thing.
SoCalCoasters
That is an amazing looking flatride. KMG seems to be getting even crazier with their rides... personally I'd name the ride Terra Firma, because thats where I'll be wishing I was for most of the ride before I realize, you know, this isn't that bad. Philrad71
I would name the ride..."Holy S***!" I was thinking of something similar...call it - 'What The...?' Because that is what a lot of the GP are going to say when they see it in action!
imawesome1124
WTF is that ride? I've never seen anything like that before. Also, congradulations to Martin's Fantasy Island for 50 years.
deathbydinn
DEVIL'S HOLE RETURNS! This is an artist’s rendering of the new Devil’s Hole ride. Although we’re bringing back the Devil’s Hole as part of the 50th Anniversary year, this is NOT the original 1975 ride, but rather an updated version. This ride will replace the Starship 2000. It is not the same machine simply re-painted, it's a NEW machine with slightly different characteristics to match the original 1975 Devil's Hole ride. cal1br3tto
Yay, new Gravitron! That looks like a fun and fitting theme, reminiscent of some of the old Rotors.
DarienLaker
I would call the new ride that MFI is putting in Yikes!: The Ride
Mechanic
I'd call that new ride, "The Soiler".
DougMJr
So excited for this! Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to Fantasy Island last summer, but there is no way I'll be able to stay away from this. I'm going to be thinking hard for a name that fits this... besides ZomgCrazyScreamMonster PhD.
DarienLaker
They've released the "official" name of the ride: Mind Warp
beatle11
^As per their facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Martins-Fantasy-Island/120242988042980. It is indeed being called Mind Warp. The ride definitely seems worthy of that name.
exmouse
I'm convinced this new ride is from Technical Park and not KMG. The photo's being used to promote it are the same photos of an existing travelling Loop Fighter shown on Technical Parks website. Loop Fighter I think it's the same as seen in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92SPXE4HIzw
