So after reading through the thread, I must ask, am I the only one who is picturing small children with big guns here? As somebody said earlier, it really just looks like somebody build a park in rct3 and said, "I want that in my backyard". I mean, I'd never pass up being 425 feet in the air, but it just seems a taaad unrealistic.

^^But she is sooooo hot. The rides that is. I guess they already got me once with the surf park. I used to go by there every time I was on I-Drive only to see the same small wave pool that would never work. I am learning to trust again.

Seriously someone has to know of something these guys did right. It mostly comes down to wether or not the investors have money they want to spend.

15 coasters? Seriously?

News reported by WFTV includes diagrams of the park layout

Proposed Theme Park's Master Plans Unveiled

During a meeting Wednesday night at Festival Bay Mall, the company tried to win over concerned residents for a second time. Many residents are worried about noise the park will create.

“You can show all the photos, all the landscaping, diagrams, we do not want the noise,” said Tangelo Park resident Renee Anthony.

The company has offered to build a 650-foot buffer wall so residents won’t hear noise coming from the park. It also says a parking garage and a retention pond will cut down on noise.

Some people are supportive of the new park. The project could create an economic impact of $1.7 billion over 10 years. It would also create 2,000 new jobs.

“This is an opportunity for not only the residents, but for the children that are coming up for economic impact for jobs,” said Tangelo Park resident Gwendolyn Clinton.

Orlando's municipal planning board is expected to take a look at the plans for the new park at a meeting next week.

Well I have to say they had me at launched motor bike coaster, then when they added the possibility of an intamin cable, I was sold. I'm sure they won't start with 15 coasters, more like 5 or 6, hey wait, isn't that what Hard Rock started out with? hmmmm.

If they build it, I will come, or go, which gets me there first.

425 foot inverted accelerator coaster???? 650 foot wall????? SERIOUSLY?????????????

I want whatever these people and the Big Dipper chick have been smoking.

I think they were talking about the length of the wall, not the height.

But still, this all just sounds like someone sitting in school doodling ideas for a "Really Cool Amusement Park"

That seems logical, but it seems illogical that they would mention there would be 15 in the first place if they were not going to built them initially, especially considering they're showing images to the GP . They seemed to be showing a proposed map, does anyone have, no where I can find that map online?

This wont happen btw.

The "investment cost" of $259 million seems awfully low for what they want to build...

Steve Baker has found a goldmine: collecting consulting fees from bankrupt theme parks. This is sure to be the next on his list...

It's a good thing nobody will mind a 650-foot wall built near them. If this was being proposed here, I'd go to every city council meeting and beg to have that wall built near my house.

In any design it's a good idea to show what it will look like, even if it's eventually. Many shopping/retail/housing developments are built in phases but complete renderings are shown to planning commissions or in public meetings to show what they will eventually be doing. So I don't really think that it would be unreasonable for them to show a completed drawing, even if they don't really have a full plan.

Speculating what they could be thinking here would be to get some quickie drawings out to the public, see the reaction, see the reaction of the council, then decide if a complete engineering and architectural design are warranted as those cost big dollars. Too much backlash, you walk away, at least a logical person would walk away.

Hitting on another comment about cost, they could up hit up ital and buy a dozen flats(who cares what kind, just through them in) for around 2 million (hey six flags, hint hint), then transport freestyle/hard rock's coasters once bought out of bankruptcy for 10 or 20 million, build the traditional pond for not much money, put down some asphalt and prefab buildings and bam, instant park! Then, if they actually survive, add a coaster each year until they hit the magic number of 15 all while incurring the same debt level as Cedar Fair.

If they get it built, like I said before, I will go, maybe just once, but I wil go, quickly after opening.

Why don't they just build the Great Wall of Orlando with the 200-300million they're investing? It can be America's newest natural land mark! People would come from allll over the world just to see it. So I believe they could pull in 10.7 billion dollars. Look out Disney, Universal, and Busch Gardens!

Or maybe they could bribe Wisconsin to trade the name Florida with them...I bet they'd give in at 50 million.

Seriously? They're just asking to have their asses handed to them worse than after the failed Hard Rock Park. 15 coasters to start with? One over 400 feet tall? Also I think I'd rather hear the noise of people screaming than have to see a 625' wall everyday.

Stupidity- 1

Common sense- 0

A 625 foot wall it not ridiculous, that's only the length of 2 football fields.

Why do people think they are building a 625' Tall wall...Its 625' Long! And if you still that's thats crazy, how long do you think the average freeway wall is? A hell of a lot longer then 625'...

Enthusiasts like to make fun of the mistakes made by the GP, but sometimes (many times) they are no better. Oh and that includes me.

Oh god I feel really stupid. I completely misread that. I thought they meant 625' tall wall. My bad. But yeah, that's not so bad now. I thought it sounded kind of stupid... but hey, what can you expect from someone proposing a park with 15 new coasters from the get-go who also pioneered another poorly thought-through park?

A 625' tall wall would be one of the tallest structures in Florida!

And yes, a 625' long wall is no big deal. Most parks have some sort of noise barrier between it and adjacent properties whether it is a noise wall or a line of trees/heavy vegetation.
