DAT_OG_ROLL
Got back an hour ago from seeing boston and Kansas. Fantastic show. Tom scholz is 68 and damn he and boston sounded amazing. I was blown away by their performance and would definitely see them again.

Blind Idiot God
Dark Sermon/Archspire/Fit for an Autopsy/Aborted. Dark Sermon surprised me overall; they sounded much better live than on record and really knew how to work the crowd, and their drummer was incredible. Plenty of room for improvement, though; their live show was way too Watain-esque for my liking, and one of their songs had an Ulcerate/Swallow the Sun-style subdued portion that started off cool but really started to wear out its welcome by the second or third minute. Archspire was lame; they put on a decent show, but their music actively annoys me and their vocalist needs to quit with the retarded, unfunny jokes. I only gave them a chance because Sven from Aborted persuaded me to do so and I was as disappointed as I thought I would be. Fit for an Autopsy also put on a good show but had way too many breakdowns for my liking and were just way too bro-y in general. Finally, Aborted gave me more than my money's worth with an incredibly intense and energetic show that was totally worth almost getting my glasses smashed by stagedivers. Projektion
Download Festival this past weekend. Been going to this festival every year since 2011 and I absolutely love it. got to see about 27 bands, and my bands of the weekend were Five Finger Death Punch (they have never disappointed me live so far, and just have the audience in the palm of their hands whenever they play), Muse (absolutely blown away by these, especially since they played a heavier set just for Download) and Evil Scarecrow (went in not knowing a single thing about these, and left as one of my bands of the weekend, absolutely amazing live show). Khat26
Smashing Pumpkins and Marilyn Manson in Atlanta. Awesome show. Smashing Pumpkins played a damn near perfect setlist. The highlight for me was Mayonaise and Through the Eyes of Ruby. Â Manson was great too.
DILinator
Imagine Dragons at The Palace of Auburn Hills, June 21st! Great show! Â I am particularly stoked about seeing my favorite band on September 19th, Twenty one pilots! Awesome band with unique music that puts on the best concert show I've seen! This'll be my third time! Can't wait!

mike541x
^Sick dude! FNM is an amazing band, one of my favorites. I can't describe how talented Mike Patton is. As a matter of fact, they're playing in my state tomorrow, but unfortunately my budget is low due to a recent concert I went to so I'm gonna have to pass up on it. Â Last night I saw Deftones at the Fillmore in Silver Spring MD. A combination of a sold out show, energetic crowd and 2 hour setlist made it one amazing, unforgettable show! I'm till exhausted from being in the pit. These guys still rock as hard as they did in the 90's even without Chi Cheng (R.I.P). Currently they're on tour with Incubus (who I've already seen this year), and they're playing at larger venues, so seeing Deftones alone in a smaller more energetic venue just made this one of the best shows for them on tour no doubt. A picture from last night's show from the band's IG.
Projektion
Have to agree about FNM. I din't know much about them at the time, but I saw them a few months ago at Download and they were amazing. My highlight was probably during Easy when Mike jumped down off the stage to let someone who was being wheeled away on a stretcher sing the last line of the song. Can be seen at 2:
Blind Idiot God
Saw Alice in Chains at Foxwoods in CT last night. It was my first time seeing them, and all that I can say is damn. They had an interesting set opener with Junkhead (which is a deeper cut that I wasn't expecting to hear period, let alone as an opener) and quickly got down to business with Check My Brain, Again, and Man in the Box, and they had the place locked in the entire night. Hearing four thousand people (myself included) singing along to "Down in a Hole" was certainly one of the best ways to spend a birthday, and they closed with "No Excuses", "Would?", "We Die Young", "Them Bones", and "Dam That River" one after another. Seeing one of the greatest bands of all time do their thing was worth every penny.
The Great Zo
I saw Kansas on July 18 in suburban Cincinnati. Was third row center so I got some up-close pictures. Â Â Â Â Â Then, I saw Kansas again on the riverfront in downtown Detroit on August 14. Had a bit of a different vantage point, but got to watch the band perform with a lightning show in the background. Â Â Â
Zack44
I saw Van Halen last Thursday at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater. It was about 2 1/2 hours of non-stop rock 'n' roll!!
Ape
Manson and Smashing Pumpkins. I lucked into some VIP tickets 4th row center for the show. It was awesome. Manson should have closed though as the Smashing Pumkins set seemed a bit boring after he went on. We left after Zero for several reasons though. yay101
August 5, Chi-Town House of Blues, Tokio Hotel, MXMS, and Victorian Halls Tokio Hotel is a dance-emo rock band that was popular like 5 years ago or something. MXMS is a "funeral pop" band that blew my mind away. So good Victorian Halls is a local alternative-y kinda band that were pretty good. It was cool to because the members of MXMS hung out after the show and I met them, and it was pretty cool. I hope all three bands get noticed in the near future

Blind Idiot God
Symphony X and Overkill in Worcester, AKA the true Jersey boys. Symphony X was fantastic and Michael Romeo is absolutely unreal live; his playing HAS to be seen to be believed. Probably the most impressive live guitarist I've ever seen. The rest of the band was similarly on-point; my only complaint was that they devoted a little too much of the setlist to Underworld and Paradise Lost and not enough to their other albums. "Iconoclast" was a great choice for an encore, however. As for Overkill, they blew the roof off of the place like they're famous for, and Bobby Blitz's choice to insult the Red Sox before proclaiming that he had no love for the Yankees either elicited more than a few laughs. They had a much more balanced setlist, with all of the hits, a good balance of new and old, and even a couple deeper cuts. $27.50 well spent. Meteornotes
I went to ProgPower a few weeks ago, and it was amazing, as always. Highlights were Anathema, Riverside, Royal Hunt, and Angra. I've been to everyone of these but the third, and am really looking forward to next year's festival. The headliners are Fates Warning (with the original line up playing all of Awaken The Guardian) and The Devin Townsend Project. Â dt

awclark
It's not technically a concert, but I attended the Burning Man festival out in Black Rock City, NV this year. It was my first burn and it was by FAR the most spiritually moving, enlightening, extreme, and profound experience I've ever had. It gave me an entirely new outlook and perspective on life in the most positive way. Left me utterly speechless. Would LOVE to know if anyone on here has been before or who goes every year. Regardless, here are some photos from this years event. Sorry if it's a lot, but I hope you enjoy! … And then after the man exploded in a gigantic spectacle of fireworks, explosions, and flames Me sitting in the illuminated letter 'A' Spreading my wings on the playa … But shortly after spreading my wings I found myself caught in a complete white out sandstorm Photo of me taken by a photographer that happened to be a member in our camp Photo of me taken by a photographer that happened to be a member in our camp The "Dream" installation. Photo Credit: Scott London the Pirate ship art car at sunset. Photo Credit: Scott London 1 of the most trippy and amazing art installations I've ever encountered. The LED lights shifted and changed patterns and colors all while synchronized to the music that was playing around us. Photo Credit: Scott London The Man. Photo Credit: Duncan Rawlinson The Temple of Promise. The spiritual and emotional center of the city. It would not be uncommon to walk through here and see other people crying or find yourself in tears reading all the messages inscribed into the walls and seeing all the shrines of lost loved ones people had set up. Photo Credit: Duncan Rawlinson An aerial view of Black Rock City during this years Burn. Photo Credit: Duncan Rawlinson A very thought provoking art piece I encountered out on the playa. The night of the Burn when all 70,000 of us gathered around the man in a spectacle that gives the event its very name.
