SuperShawn
Saw Scott Weiland last night at the Howard theater in DC. Basic version was I helped his Bass player in my store and was invited to the show so went. Great venue though $11 for their call drinks seemed a bit much. He put on a great show, made some funny jabs about his extremely recent split (getting fired) and drugs and alcohol abuse. Scott and the band all sounded absolutely great in part from talent and the sound crew was outstanding. His opening band the Miggs also sounded great though that was probably more the sound guys doing. All in all it was a decent paced set and ended by Scott throwing some stuff and kicking over the drum set with the venue turning the lights off on him. Astrojack
Last Thursday I saw Lindsey Stirling. She's a violinist and mixes it electronic music. I've been to countless concerts over the years and this was one of my favorites I have ever seen. It was such a different experience and she sounded amazing live. Next concert is April 9th, Hatebreed and Terror.
SuperShawn
Finally saw Pink last Thursday night. All the good reviews I've heard held true, she is a great performer. The show is a great balance of dance numbers, Ariel Acts, and her being a dork. She performed straight through the show, no intermission and it was almost 2 hours. Which I give her major props for doing. It was great to see her stop and sign one or two pictures people were holding in the pit, or when a stuffed animal made it on stage she totally grabbed it and acknowledged the person who gave it to her . Basically if you enjoy her music and she comes through town, its completely worth the money to see.
mightypotato
Last night, I went to the SiriusXM Indie Awards in Toronto. This is a HUGE change of pace for me, as I'm usually at death metal shows. But hey...I can like other kinds of music too! Â The actual awards part was pretty boring, but there were a few acts which I ended up really liking. Notably were French Canadian folk/bluegrass band Canailles. I really enjoyed their vibe and style, and ended up picking up their albums off iTunes today. Â Now, the reason I was there was to see Matt Mays and Metric. I hadn't seen Matt Mays since 2006 when he was still with El Torpedo. As a side note, I ended up partying on the tour bus with him after the show that night. The drummer and I argued about Zeppelin vs. Pink Floyd for about an hour. Â Anyways, it was great to see him live again. He still puts on a great show and it was always nice to hear Cocaine Cowgirl again. Â After Matt Mays played for an hour, Metric came out and blew us away. Since I last saw Metric, they've moved out of playing clubs and are now playing arenas. Their last time in Toronto, they sold out the Air Canada Centre. So, to see them in a club again was a must see type thing. They played a great hour and a half long set with a good combination of new and old songs. They closed the set with a fantastic acoustic version of Gimme Sympathy that had the crowd singing along. Â Up next will be Volbeat. It will be the third time I've seen them...looking forward to it. Â Here are some pictures! Â Canailles! Â The Wooden Sky! Â Cold Specks! Â Yukon Blonde! Â Matt Mays! Â Metric!
KrazyT
Went to both weekends of Ultra Music Festival in my hometown of Miami, FL. To sum it all up it was absolutely. mindblowing-ly, surreal! Here's a few pictures in case anyone likes this kind of stuff So much amazement! Watching Swedish House Mafia's Last performance ever! Not my photo, but it's quite amazing to see the turnout for this year. This was taken on weekend 1.
USCoaster
I finally was able to see Sigur Ros in concert last night in Boston. It was an amazing show and it completely lived up to my expectations. Â I'm still trying to figure out a way into the Pink concert tomorrow night and I'm going to the album launch concert for New Kids on the Block on Saturday. mightypotato
Last night, I once again made the trip down (up? whatever) to Toronto for another show. This time, it was to see Volbeat. I've liked Volbeat ever since I saw them open for Metallica in 2009. While this would be the third time I've seen them, it was the first time I've seen them headline. Â The opening act tonight was Spoken. Not much to say about them, really. They do have some potential and the crowd was pretty into them. A little rough around the edges though. Â Up next was Danko Jones. While I often hear Danko Jones on the radio, I really didn't know too much of his stuff. His performance definitely made me a fan. Very high energy set and Danko is very charismatic and has great stage presence. Also, the way he described the band was fantastic..."we're that Canadian band that sings songs about f**king". Well said, Danko. Well said. Â Finally, Volbeat took the stage and put on a killer set that lasted about 1.75 hours. They played their better known songs like "Guitar Gangsters and Cadillac Blood", "Fallen" and "Pool of Booze Booze Booza". They also played a great cover of Johnny Cash's "Sad Man's Tongue" and the opening riff to Slayer's "Raining Blood". The set was very high energy and they interacted with the crowd as much as they could. Â I had a great time and really hope Volbeat keeps getting more popular. Each time I see them, they seem to have more and more fans. If any band deserves to hit it big, it's them. Â Up next will be Paganfest IV with Ensiferum, Tyr and Heidevolk on the 17th. Â Here are some pictures! Â Spoken! Â Danko Jones! Â Volbeat!

chemical_echo
Saw Billy Talent with Sum 41 and Hollorado last Friday at the ACC in Toronto. Â My first time seeing Sum 41 and I loved every second of it. Would love to see them again as the headliner so they can get more stage time, but they played a great set with some of my faovrite songs. Derek had an awesome stage presence and brought tons of energy to the show. Â Last time I saw Billy Talent was at Warped Tour just after their first album was released, so it's been quite a few years. These guys are absolutely insane on stage; Ben was all over the place and engaged the entire crowd. It was nice getting to see them play to their hometown crowd, even if they are Leaf fans and they like mocking all other Canadian teams. At one point they even asked the crowd what the score of the Jays game was next door. I love the fact that they are so patriotic to Canada and loyal to their city. They had a great set with a 4 song encore. I'd definitely go see them again. Â Â Tonight I'm going to see the rescheduled Green Day show that was supposed to take place in January. I'm not pleased with the new date (got a big exam on Saturday I should be studying for), but I'm not going to waste my money either.

mightypotato
Last night, a friend and I made the trip to Toronto for Paganfest IV, starring Ensiferum, Tyr and Heidevolk. It was definitely nice to be back at a folk metal show, having not seen one for a few months. This would be the third Paganfest I've been to, having been to II and III. I'm pleased to say that this show lived up to its namesake.  Due to traffic coming into Toronto, we missed Helsott who opened the show. Were they good or not? Who knows?  Out first for us at least was Trollfest, who I knew nothing about. They dressed up as killer bees and played loud music, so I can't complain. Also, they had a saxophone player. Heavy metal saxophone...that's a first.  Heidevolk came out next. They were the band I was really there to see. They played an insanely fast paced, albeit short set that had the crowd worked up into a frenzy. During the set, the band members seemed a bit shocked and amused about how into them everyone was. There were a lot of laughs and disbelieving shaking of heads coming from them. I really hope they make another trip here soon, because I am definitely going to see them again.  After them came Tyr. I've never been a big fan of Tyr, yet this is the 3rd time I've seen them. Funny how that works. I will give credit where credit is due, though. They did put on a good show. They weren't as good as the last time they came down, which was a bit of a letdown.  Ensiferum came out to close the show and once again, the crowd went mental. They played songs from their entire discography, though they really didn't touch on much material from the new album. I was glad to see them play which is my favourite song of theirs. All in all, it was a great night of folk metal goodness and I look forward to the inevitable Paganfest V next year. Up next will be Three Inches of Blood in May.  Here are some pictures!  Trollfest!  Heidevolk!  Tyr!  Ensiferum!
Blind Idiot God
Led to the Grave/Cain/Hellcannon/Warstrike 666 at the Railroad Tavern in Keene NH. Last big concert was Nile at the Worcester Palladium, which was actually a ton of fun thanks to a sterling performance from Nile and my homies in Parasitic Extirpation. Guess not touring with awful bands gives Nile a reason to give it their all. Also, George is one of the chillest cats on the planet and actually went up and complimented my Defeated Sanity hoodie. Meteornotes
Steven Wilson last Friday night - He's playing all of his new album in the set, along with other solo materiel. It's not Porcupine Tree, but it's still damn awesome. Â dt

B&MBoy1982
Wynonna Judd in Cincinnati Ohio. 10-22-11 Â Seen her several times over the years. Even met her a few times! Â Â Â Â It is to the point now that she recognizes Dennis and I in the audience. This was my first time at the Grand Ole Opry. I walked to the stage to get some photos, she sees me and says, "I know you."
Blind Idiot God
Alright, change that to Kings Destroy/KEN mode/ASG/Roadsaw/Orange Goblin at the Middle East in Cambridge. God damn, Orange Goblin absolutely destroys live. Killer setlist, incredible energy and crowd engagement, and just a whole lot of fun in general as long as you disregard the fat middle-aged drunk dudes staggering around the pit. Blind Idiot God
As of now, it's the NH stop of the Bloodletting North America 9 tour, with the lineup being Gorod, Inanimate Existence, and Kamikabe, with Abnormality as the local opener. Even without Vale of Pnath, it was still one hell of an impressive show. IA even flat-out stated that we were the best crowd that they had had for the entire tour. XII
Just got back from seeing Primus in concert. The show itself was fantastic, though the audience was horrible. Our neighbors got a nice gift for watching our house/feeding the dogs while we are gone tho  LOL. . so it's the last concert I WISH I could have attended !
