Over the past few weeks:

Dave Matthews Band - Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre

This was my 2nd DMB show, and while it was a GREAT show, they played too many songs from their new album. It's a good album, but probably 1/2 the show was from the new album.

Porcupine Tree - Nokia Theatre LA Live

Seeing one of your favorite bands for the first time in a 2,000 seat place is AMAZING. This probably ranks in the top 5 concert experiences I've ever gone to. The only thing I didn't care for was the normal un-enthusiastic attitude of LA audiences. But the band was amazing.

Tentatively making plans to see They Might Be Giants at UCLA next month.

I saw P!nk on Monday and Kelly Clarkson last night. Both were fabulous! I'm a sucker for their cheesy pop songs, what can I say.

Kelly's show was fairly simple, with a big band backing her up. I've seen her in concert quite a few times, and just adore her, but have found her vocals to be a bit rough sometimes. Here, she sounded flawless, maybe because it was only her third show of this tour. I was very impressed!

P!ink's show was insanely awesome! Not only can she sing her face off, but she also pulled off some crazy circus-like acrobatics. Really an incredible show.

Took my two oldest boys to see Styx and Kansas at Ball State about a week ago. They both had a great time.

Kansas was as good as the last time I saw Styx and Kansas together. They came out and and just went to town... they played for just shy of a hour and hit all the songs you know and love.

Styx was ok....minus Dennis DeYoung currently....they stayed away from much of What he sings with the exception of Suite Madame Blue, Lady and Come Sail away. Nothing from Kilroy and olny SMB from Paradise Theater. The guy who the have replacing him os a VERY good keyboard player and can sing and sounds enough like Dennis to pass (not as close as the Steve Perry replacement for Journey) and they closed with Renegade.... tey were on stage for a hour and a half with the encore.

All in all a good show and with only about 3500-4000 people (it was a small auditorium) not a bad seat in the house.

Fleetwood Mac yesterday in Antwerp.

The show was really very good. Loved the songs. Really loved Stevie Nicks' voice. Also loved Lindsay Buckingham's energy on stage and his guitar solos. Mr Fleetwood himself is just crazy but loved him too.

Highlights :

Landslide : Stevie Nicks' voice was SOOOO amazing

Go you own way : because it's just an amazing song

Big love : Lindsay Buckingham solo on accoustic guitar. I already had a few live versions of it on cd, but live .... it was probably the best live performance I ever saw.

Oh Well : because how L.B. sung it.

Tusk : I never really appreciated this song but live it really rocked

Sarah : again because of S.N.' voice.

One of the best concerts I've ever seen.

Tuesday Oct 6, I saw Brand New at the Pageant in St. Louis, MO.

And the weekend before that I saw A Day To Remember with Parkway Drive, In Fear and Faith, and I See Stars on Oct. 2, and Never Shout Never! Oct. 3.

All 3 amazing shows but Brand New killed it all. I waited a long time to see them live and it was so worth it.

Enter Shikari with support from The Devil Wears Prada last Wednesday.

Devil weren't really my thing but Enter Shikari are just too perfect live, they really know how to please a crowd and it was just an awesome night.

Yeah I saw them in Manchester on the 15th. Amazing show, infact I've bought tickets for their Blackpool show in Febuary because it was so good!

I saw Metallica at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on Monday. OMG, they were fantastic. Their energy was off the wall, and they played extremely well. Kirk nailed the incredibly fast solos for One, Master of Puppets, Seek and Destroy, etc. I also really appreciated the fact that they played nothing from St. Anger and only one song from the Load/ReLoad albums (The Memory Remains). It was mostly older stuff (Kill 'em All, Ride the Lightning) and Death Magnetic.

Next concert: Heathenfest (Eluveitie, Belphegor, Alestorm, Kivimetsan Druidi and Vreid) on November 4th.

I went to a huge Third Day concert last weekend...my first...and it was amazing!

Lol, this reminds me of the funniest thing ever. My parents wanted me to see this band(I think) for a concert and I said I dont listen to that kind of music. He told me I needed to listen to more christian music(stretching your hand as far out to the right as possible will show you 1% of my amazingly conservative dad) so I told him I do occasionally listen to christian music. He asked what so I played some as I lay dying. He told me that was not Christian music and then I looked up online lyrics and told him he got owned.

Me at a 3rd day concert(or any other generic rock/pop/punk band for that matter) I would mosh so hard it would knock the souls right out of the audience and into the metal loving demons below... Where they belong.
