Twister II
Saw this on Yahoo! articles and thought I'd share. I love my job, but these guys are just freakin' crazy!!! Put me on any rollercoaster, thrill ride, or whatever, but I don't think I could EVER do this! Check it out! http://video.yahoo.com/network/101149635?v=8244494&l=5144241 These guys have a camera mounted on their helmets showing how they climb the 1,768ft transmission tower. This is taller than the empire state building and Sears Tower! Definitly an adrenaline pumping job, especially when there is a storm rolling in! Let me know what you think! BTW: Watch it now before it gets removed!!! Reason --> http://www.theonlineengineer.org/TheOLEBLOG/
spaceace12
I will be at the top of the tower here for my station at some point. Won an employee auction for dinner and a tower tour (I get to go up the 1,000 foot tower on the elevator) (auction was to pay for the Christmas party and prizes at the party). chemical_echo
I've jumped out of a plane at 12,500ft and I still would not do this. The fact that they're free climbing makes it that much more scarier. I'd probably ask for a parachute for the way down since there's no way I'd be able to go back. themeparkman25
Was his method of tying off simply setting his carabiner on the ladder rung? I certainly hope not. I will be the first to say that I have a fear of unrestrained height. Tie me off and I am fine, don't tie me off and I would freak.

ebl
^ Party pooper. I'm not scared of heights at all, but I'm not sure I'd climb a tower unrestrained. You never know what could happen. Eric
Twister II
Just think, one gust of wind when your hand are climbing and see ya. I've never been afraid of heights, but watching this makes me dizzy!
BeemerBoy
I love at the end, when the guy is preparing to climb on the very top of it, the narrator says, "Now this is the tricky part." As if you could do the rest of it in your sleep.
Emiroo
I wonder how long the climb took from bottom to top. The video starts at least halfway up if not higher. And the second guy at the top caught me by total surprise. I half expected him to reveal his chute and base jump as part of some elaborate prank. chaos
I have never been so entranced by a video before. Half of me was like "That's is the most terrifying thing I've ever seen!" But the other part of me was like "I want to do that right now!"
FeelTheFORCE
Was his method of tying off simply setting his carabiner on the ladder rung? I certainly hope not. I was thinking the same thing.
