Off-Season 1967/68

Hello again,

Modern Motorcars is moving right along. The delivery of the vehicles to the park have been slightly delayed, so we've continued with adding some landscaping and installing the queue:

The queue is about halfway complete.

The site overall is looking much better!

Only 2 1/2 more months until we open.

I'll be sure to let you all know as soon as testing begins. After this, we just have to finish the queue and other new walkways, and add finishing touches!

Have a great day!

I love how you are going for realism, but some small details seem just a bit off.

I like how you are taking your time with the updates, but the way you posted the whole ride and now just small updates, doesn't really create any reason to update more than once in a while.

Looking forward to what's next!

That was just my way of showing an artist depiction of the ride, and then still allowing myself to give updates during the off-season. I may not do this in the future though, because it takes time away from seasonal updates and slows the flow of peeps into the park. Thanks for the comments, much appreciated!

Off-Season 1967/68

Hi everyone!

Back again with another quick update! Vehicles have arrived and testing began last week. Though I don't have any photos of the vehicles yet, I did manage to take some pictures of other changes on the site:

The fence has been removed from around the ride, and track has been painted to match the buildings.

The queue line and exit line are now complete as well.

We open in just three more weeks! Be sure to come out and join us for Opening Day!

Thanks,

BREAKING NEWS!

Section of Mine Train Roller Coaster Collapses!

June 13, 1968

The Boulder Chronicle - Around 8 pm on Tuesday evening on June 12, a section of one of Boulder Leisure Park's two roller coasters, "Mine Train", collapsed. The ride has had no previous problems, except for a late opening last year, their first season. All maintenance checks had been performed as usual, with no abnormalities found. The collapse is supposed to have occurred in the helix following the ride's second lift hill. The park has not released an official statement as of yet. Fortunately no one was injured in the accident. We will update you on any future developments.

2nd Season

Hello again,

Most of you have probably already heard of the tragic incident that occurred here a few days ago - a section of Mine Train collapsed.

Currently, the ride is still closed. Workers have been on site the last few days cleaning up some of the mess. Most of the track is still there, however broken supports have been removed. Track has not been too badly damaged, but will likely need to be replaced.

I have a few pictures:

972459163_BoulderLeisurePark-61.jpg.370169d11b1e4c46f893e8b0edc934d5.jpg

The track that remains is still on-site.

19105611_BoulderLeisurePark-62.jpg.282e2d004730ec09d2a99c6bb7b949b1.jpg

We have been working to clean up the site.

As of now, we are unsure of the rides future. We hope to see it reopening at some point in the future. We will let you know of any future updates.

Thank you for your understanding.

2nd Season

Hello everyone,

Another update on Mine Train's progress today. Due to the damage to the track, much of that half of the ride may have to be removed and replaced. We are deciding our course of action with this issue. Currently we are looking to potentially rebuild that portion of the ride as soon as possible. We will let you know what we decide to do.

Only one picture of the site today:

The fallen track has been removed from the site.

In other news, Modern Motorcars is a hit! It has been drawing steady lines since it opened:

People can't wait to get on the new ride!

Guests seem to be very happy after the ride.

Thanks for your loyalty! We'll keep you posted.

2nd Season

Hey Boulder,

This is officially the first time I've started an update with something other than "Hello". I just wanted to let you know that despite our troubles with Mine Train, we are still planning Fourth of July celebrations for later this week. A quick recap on what's been going on:

We have discovered other underlying issues with Mine Train. Several other portions of track have developed fractures that we only noticed upon recent in-depth inspection. Repair costs are being determined before we make any definitive decisions on the issue. In this picture, some of the fractures are visible:

1674410865_BoulderLeisurePark-66.jpg.a592a4600eca28a496aa0473828833ef.jpg

2 fractures can be seen in the center of the banked track, and just at the point where the track starts banking right upon cresting the hill.

We have seen a slight decline in attendance recently, most likely due to the news of Mine Train's structural failure. We are confident that this will soon smooth itself out:

139415874_BoulderLeisurePark-67.jpg.1f0324a1d37b8e9f1defcd1ce2ab0f80.jpg

Our attendance has declined slightly since the news of Mine Train's structural failure has circulated.

As soon as we reach a decision with Mine Train, I will let you know. I'll also try to post some Fourth of July Fireworks pictures later this week.

Come out and join us for the celebration!

TPR -

As I continue to work on this park, I realize many errors that I have made in my planning and design. Unless I correct these now, they will only continue to make things more difficult for the park. Boulder Leisure Park will return in one week following reconstruction and reorganizing of the park. I will try to keep as much of the current park as I can.

Thanks,

Hey TPR,

Boulder Leisure Park is done and ready to be presented, but due to some unexpected travel this weekend, I have not yet had time to post an update. I will put up pictures of the new-and-improved Boulder Leisure Park soon!

3rd Season

Hello,

Welcome back to Boulder Leisure Park!

We've had a lot going on here recently, and have just opened for our third season. Let me recap what you missed over the winter months:

-Mine Train was determined to costly to repair after other issues were found. The ride was demolished during the offseason and has been scrapped.

-We've made slight changes to the park layout, but nothing too confusing to the guests. We've also revamped all pathways with more appropriate brick pavers.

-New for 1969 is El Furioso, our first wooden roller coaster. This out and back design has great airtime, and guests already seem to love it!

- We hit record attendance this year for Opening Day! We've really come a long way since our first season only 2 years ago.

Anyway, I've managed to take a few shots of the new-and-improved Boulder Leisure Park for you:

Unforentually I think the RCT3 community is not as active, but what you got here is nice.

El Furioso looks nice, and the park is decent. Have you tried covering your stations more? I think it would help as I wouldn't want to wait in a line that has no shading. lol

Great work so far, though.

3rd Season

Hello again!

Another month has come and gone, with a lot of changes going on at the park!

69596327_BoulderLeisurePark-New-12.jpg.235f8cb88231811f441987329dbaaaa0.jpg

This was the construction site shortly on July 15.

1452900958_BoulderLeisurePark-New-15.jpg.75fa5a69f50fe10f7ff776db2f6a82b7.jpg

Since then, we've installed a train ride to transport guests around our expanding park!

1488177096_BoulderLeisurePark-New-16.jpg.2b865ff3177943ae5b3bdc87c9353255.jpg

The train ride will also encircle the new area of the park.

647670736_BoulderLeisurePark-New-13.jpg.8d39271deb9f7f57b77135d1bf0cdc1e.jpg

A new building has also popped up near the main entrance! This restaurant serves our delicious homemade fried chicken.

449056043_BoulderLeisurePark-New-14.jpg.8e9ef7140ea5d6de5f8d8bd6ba4a9428.jpg

We've also covered El Furioso's queue and station with simple canopies, so as to keep the area as open-air as possible.

More updates soon! And thanks for the overwhelming response! We love to hear from our valued customers.

Also, expect an official announcement on the new expansion in early September.
