Loefet
As some of you already know, I have recently been on a short trip to a bunch of smaller parks in northern Europe, with some German Fairs and some more well known parks thrown into the mix. Before the actual trip the whole family went on a weekend to Öland, which is the second largest island of Sweden and that is well known for it's nature (or something...), and it's the place where this trip report actually starts... Index: Day 0: Family pre-trip with some extra credits... Day 1: Day 2: Day 3: Day 4: Day 5: Day 6: Edited August 19, 2010 by Loefet
Loefet
Ok here goes... Day 0, or as it really should be day -1 and 0. We all went on a short weekend drive to Öland which is located on the other side of Sweden from where we live. On the way there we visited our uncle at a "antique" engine show (which actually was the main reason why we went), and going to Öland was pretty natural since most of us hadn't been there before... Luckily enough for me I knew that there was a few credits there that I haven't ridden at the time, so I had an excuse to leave my parents and get some new credits while they went on a rock pile (aka. old buildings) sightseeing I expected the place to be a bit crappy by what I have herd of it before I got there, and the entrance fee seemed like a rip-off to what I knew was available, but that changed when we got in... The main reason for this weekend trip was the motor show, they had a lot of stuff that made a great noise, most of the engines were 50+ years old, some a lot older than that. The insanely long bridge between Mainland Sweden and Öland First things first, before we went to the park we made a mandatory tourist stop at the southern lighthouse, Long Jan But beware there was a lot of animals on the road The old Swedish kings really know how to show off, like this wall that stretch right across the southern tip of Öland Finally it's time for some new credits!! Shame that I left my speedos at home Welcome to Ölands Djur och Nöjespark!! Blues Brothers??? WTF?? I spy a credit!! But before that, here is a monkeys ass and Flamingos and a goat This was new, a blue monkey... Some other animal Insert fart sound here... Llamas!! I couldn't get the full mugshot so here is half Camel doing some neck exercises See they are not only in Kenya Teenage mutant ninja turtles!! or not... Who needs Africa, when you can stay here by the savannah Complete with Zebras Strutsar And other horned animals Lemurs!! Wiiii Yo Human open the dooor!! Another monkey Some horned cow like thing They have a lot of monkeys Lynx says Nyaaa!! Snooze Did anyone say food?? They have even got tigers, no need for Kenya Mirror mirror in the water... It's the Coon!! Hmm, strange type of tiger More strange animals Black bears Chimpanzees Hey come here No not you Did we walk through a time warp?? Oh Noes!! It got my brother It is coming!! Finally some attractions Easily the best ride in the park!! Random stalls First credit Antenna POV I know you love it Did I say that this place was deserted today Mmmm, another credit Other stuff Ok... Be aware of sharks Afrika expressen I don't know if I trust this guy... It have incredible themeing Nice Even more Monkeys The Geopard does not approve Monkey POV Looks like a Pinfari, but we couldn't find any information, and asking any pf the ops was useless since none of them spoke Swedish or any other "normal" language... Here we go Crappy ghost train Complete with dragon Waltzer of DEATH, most awesome waltzer I have ever ridden, it spun like crazy when you got the balance right, and if that wasn't enough the ride op came out during the ride and spun you even more Blues Brothers approves this ride!! We went by the water park section to have a look Booo, the Nautical Jets are down Small flume ride I approve of this themeing in the "Pirate section" Warning a fat guy By rides Creepy... Finish of with a few Awww pictures: Bye Ölands Djur och Nöjespark for this time!!
FeelTheFORCE
None of the pictures work.
Loefet
^ I noticed that, but they work on another forum that I have posted this PTR on... I have no idea on what's wrong here. They are there, I seems like photobucket won't work here on TPR, if some mod don't know what's wrong then you can lock/delete this thread... EDIT: I have located the fault with the Images and PM:ed Robb about it, it's something that is coded into the forums that makes the way it is. The thing is that all my trip report images are located in a folder called "P T R" (without the spaces) on Photobucket, and when you write that TPR automatically replaces it with "Photo TR" (even in links) which causes the images to fail... gisco
Upload your photos to the TPR server and you wouldn't have this problem. An added bonus for doing so is the report will be put into the archive, may be featured on the front page and may be used in the park index if it is good enough. None of this can happen with linked images. Just Sayin'
Loefet
^ Then you might as well delete this whole topic, since I don't want to put that much time into doing it all over again...
