imawesome1124
Your report pretty much summed it up TPDave. That was more fun than I have ever had in a single day and Intimidator305 is without a doubt the best coaster I have ever been on. Thank you everyone who put this together. I can't wait to go to another TPR event. Edited August 24, 2010 by TPDave

MayTheGForceBeWithYou
Looks like KD's putting the Doll Factory in for Halloween Haunt. Wonder how it will turn out; better or worse than the Knott's version?

(Or was that "it takes the Village People"?)  ECB was a great day--my thanks, again, to Robb and Elissa and the staff at KD for putting this event together. I-305 rules both day and night! printersdevil78
Thanks again, Robb and Elissa! East Coast Bash was awesome, and I can't believe it actually cost less than a normal one-day admission ticket to Kings Dominion! Â I've got to say that the TPR Quest game was a great addition, and the prizes were really cool. I thought once to ask during Q&A if they have a "boneyard where they keep stuff like those 1990s maps lying around (and if the old animatronic Yogi Bear and other Hanna-Barbera-related park items live there in some form). Â The only thing that made me cringe (besides riding Hurler) were the handful of boos when park management answered the question about the trims on Intimidator 305. It kind of seemed... non-TPR, if that makes any sense. Â Best line of the day, from the Grizzly operator at the mic during morning ERT: "We haven't seen this many people in the station at once in a loooooong time!" Guy T. Koepp
^and MCBRs that completely stop the ride vehicle. Â Oh! and single train operation. Â However, the ride ops are super fast... ...at texting their friends... ...and leaving to go on their breaks... ...and e-stopping the train when someone complains of being stapled. Pure Impurity
^And they're all Togos! Â ...Speaking of which... The only thing that made me cringe (besides riding Hurler)... Â Oh. So you didn't ride Shockwave?
printersdevil78
^I'm not that stupid!
mjblizza
I've found that Shockwave really isn't all that bad, especially since the ride ops do a good job at making sure the pedestal is at the right height. I rode Vortex at Carowinds, and had to ride on my tip toes because I'm a short 5'4" the ride ops didn't check the pedestal. That was a rather painful experience. Even on Mantis, the ride ops checked the pedestal. So Shockwave really isn't a bad ride IMO. I just wish there was more to the ride than lift, drop, loop, helix, bunny hill, turn more bunny hills, brakes.
pibbs
This was my wife and I's first event with TPR, and it was awesome. We were originally planning on going to KD this coming weekend from Rhode Island, and actually changed the weekend when we saw the chance. It was great, both the park staff and Robb and the crew did an awesome job! The weather didn't work perfectly, but well enough that we got to enjoy everything. The ERT was amazing (we had the Ride Op at Volcano singing Banana Phone during the ERT) and everything worked out perfect. If we can do more events with TPR, we certainly will! Wood Dragon 1988
Just wanted to say I went to the KD event and had an amazing time. I've been going to KD all my life and in recent years, I had really started to give up on the park. However, I had more fun on Sunday than I have since my trips there in middle school, in awe of the huge coasters I was tall enough to ride for the first time. I305 was really a great addition to the park. Night ERT on Volcano, FOF, and I305 was epic. Lunch was great (was the only meal I ate all day), and the walk-back was really neat. It was about as up-close and personal as many people will ever get to a 300 foot tall coaster. TPR quest was a very fun new game. Overall, one of the best days I've ever had at KD and one of the best TPR days I've ever had as well. Â If any of KD's management is reading this post, you've managed to win my heart back over to the park. Thank you!!! I'll see you again soon. Â Also want to thank Robb and Elissa and everyone from TPR who planned the event....it's nice when you don't have the cash to pay for a full trip, but can still manage to "live the coaster enthusiasts" dream once a year or so! Click me! There are a few extra photos from an earlier trip my friend and I went on.  Hmm--it appears that Snapfish requires people to register before they can see your photos--bad form. It would be best to upload a few of them here, and if you want to link to an photo-hosting site, use one that doesn't require registration.  In addition, I'd like to see everybody's thanks and raise them!
