Meteornotes
I've only been to this park once about ten years ago, but it was a cool little place. And they had the best potato salad ever! dt
sspaz1000
^Yes, I think Laurie had the potato salad and told me I had to try some. I just remember overall very good food there, and now that I've found their spaghetti sauce at my local Weis grocery store it's all I use now. sspaz1000
As promised here is Hersheypark from September 2010. My friend who I visited up in Toronto in May (the Canada's Wonderland pics) came down to visit me for the weekend. I took her to Hersheypark because she had heard about Fahrenheit and wanted to go on it. Then we also did the touristy stuff in Philly where I found out my old High School English teacher is now a park ranger at the Liberty Bell. Go figure! But onto the good stuff you came to see, pictures. Jazz and I on the tram into Hershey. The main reason why we went to Hershey instead of other parks in the area. Straight up sexiness. Wildcat. I used to love this coaster. Now not so much. It leaves me so battered and bruised that it's not worth it. SooperDooperLooper. Glad to see for 2012 it's getting some TLC. Great Bear and Storm Runner. Sexy coasters. Yes, I like Great Bear. Deal. I got to meet the Reese's guy! Fountain statue of Milton Hershey. Year sign. Yes, I'm that short. I barely make it past Jolly Rancher height. Signage. Who doesn't love singing cows about chocolate? Store! Yes, I overspent there, and yes it was fun. Comments and donations to Coasting for kids are love! Next up will be one of the Teaser photos that no one has guessed yet!
simon8899
Thanks for the PTR. Will likely visit this - and other area parks - in one of my future US stays... But to Hersheypark I'll come for the rides and not for the chocolate...even if I'm VERY much into chocolate the Hershey ones have to much ingredients that dont belong - for a plain dark or milk chocolate there should only be cacao powder, cacao butter and sugar (dark) and add milk for a milk chocolate. Everything else is just obsolete. And chemical or artificial ingredients are a no-go for me.
sspaz1000
Thanks for commenting. Sorry you don't like Hershey's chocolate but I do (I like all chocolate actually), so I'm going to take what I can get. (Yes, I know that most of it isn't made in PA now either, but it still tastes better from the park area than a grocery store). Ok so what do you guys want to see next? Knoebels from July 2011? Some random Philly photos, or do you want to know where that teaser picture is of that Kiddie ride is from??
sspaz1000
So this one was one of the teasers that no one guessed. And I didn't get to ride any of the rides because they were for kids, and it was October and the pier rides had been long closed for the season. But they were still cute so I'm adding them in my adventures. But here is the Bournemouth Pier. Sign for the carousel outside the pier. The carousel. Bournemouth Pier! Don't let that sun fool you. It was cold. Cute kiddie ride. And another. Tried to get the self portrait with one of the rides. With the sun, it didn't work so well. And I'm rocking the ClubTPR hoodie as well! View off the pier. Now you may wonder, why the heck I was in Bournemouth in the UK, in October. Well I may be slightly dorky, and a fan of John Barrowman. So I may have gone to the UK in Oct. 2010 to see him in concert. And I randomly picked Bournemouth as a venue because it was a town in the UK I hadn't been to. So here's a Bonus Barrowman picture for you. Barrowman in concert! (Aka Captain Jack, and the dude from the cult classic Shark Attack 3!) next up Knoebels July 2011. sspaz1000
Can we say *wahoo* 2011 Coaster season! Last year was the coaster season that almost didn't happen. My health and I weren't getting along, and there was surgery, and recovery, and blah, blah, blah, but by July, I was ready to hit up Knoebels as a test run to going on the TPR NE trip. So here is Knoebels July 2011. Sign My travelling partner in crime, Laurie. The Phoenix from the Antique cars. Airtime Buffet! Chris taking a picture of me taking a picture of him. Got it? Ice Bat got to meet Droopy & Puglee! They probably made some super secret plans to take over the world. Group Shot! Mini Group shot, while people wanted to ride the Satellite. Of course Ice Bat had to get in on the action, how else can he figure out how humans work so he can take over the world? At this point, this is what Black Diamond looked like in July. Of course we know it opened in October. The I'm just sitting here learning how to collect dust, and mock all you coaster enthusiasts ride. On Ride Photo! Coney Island up next. PS- You know what to do if you want to see the rest of my 2011 adventures and beyond, donate to Coasting for Kids, link is in my banner. PPS- Also leave some love. I see page stats going up, and yet, I feel like I'm entertaining myself on here.

HighRoller
Loved the Knoebels Pics! If I hadn't already been convinced (thanks to TPR) that I need to visit this park, this sure would have given me more incentive! As it is, I'm just more excited (and more impatient for my visit)! RoCo
Always a pleasure to look at Knoebel's pix. Aaaah, I miss Pheonix SO FREAKING MUCH. Plus the Haunted Mansion. Plus the insane flyers. Plus everything else. And there's something about those quaint little English seaside kiddie parks that is very appealing to me, in some odd way. Never been to one, but I love the look of them. Great reports; please continue!

Philrad71
$10 to Nicole's fund for being the first thread I visited today that didn't have a complaint about Fast Lane! Seriously, I've enjoyed reading your trip report and it definitely makes me realize that I need to get to Knoebels again this year. Thanks for sharing and for coasting for kids!
