I have another geauga lake bundle.

First I have an old sea world ohio booklet from 1995

I have also included a geauga lake booklet and map from 2005, and a wildwater kingdom map from 2008.

Next up, I have a bunch of geauga lake post cards.

And I also included a freestyle music park booklet and map.

Dave - don't let the lack of responses discourage you from posting.

A lot of posters on the site prefer to argue about new paint and what parks "deserve" versus commenting on history and content.

Besides, would it really make you feel better having dozens of people post comments like "looks great I wish I could have vistied"?

Keep on posting!

Dave...I agree with Larry - don't let the lack of responses discourage you. I noticed the same thing when I first started doing trip reports that people were way more obsessed with arguing about restraints, new rides and designs, certain big-name parks, ride rumors, etc...while that's all fine and dandy, it kind of takes away from the site concept of posting actual reviews and photos.

Yeah, I admit that it was kind of upsetting to go to great lengths to post what you feel is a nice photo report only to not even get as much as a comment. It does happen at times though, but it doesn't bother me as I now have just as much fun posting the photos and trying to come up with goofy captions as I do reading people's responses! I really do look forward to posting my trip reports on here and enjoy being at the parks trying to come up with some unique views and photo angles that may have never been posted before...not an easy task, but a fun one that I enjoy trying to do!

Again...awesome job. I am really enjoying the old photos of these parks. Great memories although I am still ticked about not getting to GL for Oktoberfest! FAIL!

Thanks for this great thread. I enjoy looking at nostalgia stuff from parks almost as much as visiting them.

I never made it to Geauga Lake and didn't get to CP till 2007 so all of the old brochures and pictures you have here are fascinating to me. I look forward to whatever else you have in store.

The water over the head incendent, was at another park.

I thought I would put up a quick post. For all of you that say "blame the intamin cable"....look no further. Here it is in all it's cable goodness.

Ladies and gentlemen....I present to you....THE INTAMIN CABLE!!!!!

As you can see, it takes all the blame. This is the cable that broke on millennium force a few years back.

778342181_ScannedImage-185(Medium).jpg.b1acdf41b1143d2370541e121a22d855.jpg

So it IS the intamin cables fault....see what happens.

I am at the bottom of the first box.I found a buch of unused fast passes on the bottom of the box. These are from Disney land, and Disneyworld.

929569332_ScannedImage-187(Medium).jpg.af208f501bb5bc6e4eee382fb4350dc2.jpg

A lot of times, we would grab a fast pass and end up eating or going to a differant attraction.

I do have 1 picture of boblo island after all.

OMG that was my first "big" coaster -- I miss Boblo. Wonder whatever happened to the old dark ride there? They tore it down long before the island closed.

I'm hoping these fastpasses didn't end up in your box at home because of the time stamp. Hopefully everyone knows that fastpasses don't expire as long as you use them on the day they were issued. It was a trick I learned a while back that has served us very well on our disney visits.

Thank's for the replys.

The fast passes were just never used. A lot of times, the ride was a walk on, or we had dinner reservations and our plans changed.

In this update, I have some pictures of Hydra construction, whirlwind at knobles, and some pictures of six flags great adventure pics with some kingda ka construction, and rides that are no longer there.

As a bonus, I found a picture of viper at six flags atlanta.

The next buch of pictures will be a behind the scenes tour of the beast and flight of fear at kings island.

Next up, a behind the scenes look at flight of fear at kings island.

It was a great tour, and we got to see what they did with the old king cobra trains, and the retired flight of fear trains with the otsh.

A little later, I have a behind the scenes tour of the beast.

Enjoy...

1354493651_ScannedImage-205(Medium).jpg.6b2f8a9d8d20cd38238ef614e6da6933.jpg

30151843_ScannedImage-207(Medium).jpg.c4469c248d8414e3efc15336ad87d6b4.jpg

We then made our way to the flight of fear exit ramp.

My first coaster ever was The Nightmare at Boblo Island.

This is easily one of the best threads I have ever come across. Thank you very much for taking the time to post all of this Dave.

I remember when they first built nightmare at boblo. I can still see the comercial in my head. That ride is now at joyland park in texas, but is an outdoor ride.

I am absolutely loving all of this nostalgia. It's really sad to see Geauga Lake in the shape that it's in, especially since it was once such a great park. Beast is my favorite wooden coaster and those shots of it make me one very happy camper

Businesses are about profit. If it wasn't turning a profit, there is a lot more pressure to stop the money pit... It obviously wasn't doing well when Six Flags bought it or they wouldn't have sold it, either. It just wasn't a viable property after Six Flags put all those huge rides in to try and compete with Cedar Point.

On an unrelated note, I worked at the Beast in 2003 and I remember on slow days we'd be allowed to sometimes just walk around the Beast woods watching the trains go by. It was a summer I'll never forget working there...
