Gröna Lund Discussion Thread

p. 41 - new expansion opening in 2024!

Recommended Posts

Amazing video as always, thanks for sharing. How slick do those trains look in black?! Great to see seven car trains too, I did wonder whether they'd be six car. I also really like the profiling on the first drop. The twist looks really snappy and kind at bit of an unnatural angle half way down so I hope that converts into some interesting forces.

Hey everyone, Don’t say we didn’t squeeze it in.

Great news!

Looks like there will be a great whip effect in the back going down the first drop! Also love that it immediately hops up into a zero-g roll. Can't wait!

Ride looks great!

I love the unique support structure.  I know it's a product of the park it's in and meant to save space, but I would love to see these "thick boy" supports used on other future coasters.  I just think they're fun.

This thing looks like an old school B&M and I hope it rides like one.  They've proven they can go back to basics in the past (Dark Knight at SFNE) and it's looking like they're about to pull it off again.

First POV has been released:

Looks super fun and like it could be intense! I wonder how nemesis-like the helix feels, given that it's fairly flat and exits downhill?

I'm also SUPER into the downhill final brakes! 🤣

Looks excellent! There must be a ton of foot choppers on this. The fact that Grona Lund and B&M were able to squeeze this around and over existing buildings is extremely impressive.

It looks great! :airtime:

And I love that they've got the station resembling a subway station.

They should sell fridge magnets like that GL subway sign.

Have a great opening, MattiasB! 🎢

Damn, does look like a compact little ride, and checking out the stats, 56 mph? Deff could be intense and forceful. Crazy the rides that are packed into this place!

I really miss Grona Lund. One of my absolute fave parks on my two TPR Scandinavian Tours. ('09 & '14).

The new coaster only makes me more anxious about ever getting back there again, <sighs>.

Other than that "boo hoo", I hope the opening for it goes well, all things considered, going on at this time in the world.  🎢

One of GL's great staff, and myself. In the rain on our arrival evening visit. (6-23-2014)

We also went to the park the next day, before boarding an overnight cruise to Helsinki, Finland!

Since MONSTER is up and running (and running and running and running...) I thought I'd post this past construction poster that I've had on file.

It certainly works for me, as I've always loved European artwork when it comes to advertising coasters and parks and events. This is no exception.

Not quite sure is this was for actual Tivoli itself, or Grona Lund. No matter .....

Does anyone know where the maintenance and admin buildings are in the park?  I've been wondering for a while, because they do a really good job at hiding them.  I know that the expansion is gonna have all the maintenance underground, but I couldn't find any info or pictures of the existing park.

^ And you even got to be a part of it, Mattias! 📽️

Very nice video. Coming out of the ground, was a nice touch.

Love the combination of Slade, neon lights, monsters, the cameo and an amazing rollercoaster!

^ All in all ..... I think I still love the whole "Underground" load/unload station the best.

Especially when you slow down before re-entering it. Very cool. And the ride's awesome, too!

'underground' needed to be "Underground." (o:
