rosscoe
Can't wait to visit Dollywood this August, I think it might be near the top of the parks I want to visit the most.
BeemerBoy
My only complaint is that the metal piece that hooks you into the track makes very loud banging sounds as you pass through the joints between rail sections. With a few people around clanking along, there was enough noise to nearly give me a headache. Yeah, it can get a bit annoying at times with all the clanking going on, but it wasn't enough to ruin the experience. Thanks for posting your experience! Sucks that the geyser wasn't working though.  Come to think of it, the clanking does kind of throw a monkey wrench into my thoughts of having something like this as an elaborately themed indoor attraction. Hmmm.  Do you have to pay for this ride or is it free? If its free i can expect the capacity to be quite low.. Actually, I'm not sure what the official capacity for this is listed at, but with a continuous flow of people entering and exiting, everything moves rather well, including the line (mostly due to the ops working their arses off!).  Scott and Shannon -any chance you would make it out there, again, when the IntimidaTour rolls through? Maureen, we are currently in talks with Robb, Elissa, and Dollywood to make a Scott and Shannon meet and greet an official add-on to the IntimidaTour. J/K, but yeah, we're gonna try to show up when the crew rolls through.  ^^In the interest of full disclosure, I must admit, while looking over the TR a ginormous "DAMN!" did slip out of my mouth. So Kudos!  Guy "And I was paraphrasing my thoughts when I uttered that particular DAMN!" Koepp  Thanks, Guy. I always try to look my sexiest in these reports! PKI Jizzman
Great update Scott, hopefully I'll be able to check out this new addition. Dollywood is such an amazing place. Â Hopefully you'll make it up to KI! -Zach
moinab
Excellent!!!! Â We had to drop out of IntimdaTour , but we're planning on being at Dollywood while they are there, after we spend a few days in Atlanta.
BeemerBoy
^And you succeed where so many others fail! Well, thank you, sir. I believe we should avoid being seen at the same park at the same time. The amount of sexiness could be detrimental to the park's operations....and the world itself. Â Â Â I promised food. I shall deliver....with randomness...and menus. Dollywood likes delicious and refreshing Coke. And what better way to quench your thirst after Adventure Mountain than with a tall glass of Coca-Cola, right Adam? Ducks. Awesomeness resides here. Most of you already know that. You're gonna see the skillets anyway. A small slice of heaven awaits you there. Okay, a loaf of heaven. Mmmmmmm. Honestly, if this were almost any other report, pictures of restaurant signs and menus would probably suck. It's Dollywood though, so it's different. It's also my report. I'll post what I want. Like this. Okay, back to the food. This guy blows. Yep. If you don't do this... ....this bird will kill Gertrude. The bird doesn't need these lines to fly. You do. Show. Stage. Â Sorry, I'm just not feelin' it with the captions tonight. These rednecks are lazy. Why? Because they obviously forgot to give their child a cigarette. Dollywood is celebrating an anniversary. They have a building to showcase stuff from the past. Stuff like this. What is it? I have no idea. Anyone know? They also have this on display. And this. And speaking of this ride.... If you're an English gentleman, a country music star, magician, average American male, Indiana Jones, or Bret Michaels, you're screwed. There is something grizzly, and very disturbing behind that sheet. Google it, kids. Knock yourselves out. Those beavers are gonna get dry if it stays like this. Hi, Rick! This is my favorite picture of the whole report. Thunderhead has theming. And us. There's actually plenty more to eat throughout the park. Mercifully for you, the rain kept us away from it. We'll end with this though. Indeed. Hooray for Dollywood! Â Thanks for viewing. Hope you enjoyed!
I love DW
In the Hall of Memories photos the first picture you asked about is a boat from the "Flooded Mine" which was located where Daredevil Falls is currently. Flooded Mine operated from 1977 to 1997 and was actually built in house by Silver Dollar City. Random fact; one of the men who helped build the Flooded Mine still works at Dollywood as the Master Craftsmen of woodcarving. The second photo is a car from the "Thunder Express" roller coaster which was located where Tennessee Tornado is now and operated from 1989 to 1998. BeemerBoy
^ Damn, Joe. That just about ruined my image of the cinnamon bread for all eternity. Â Anyway, this just showed up in my email today: Â http://www.videobooth.tv/index.php?page=viewpostcard&pcid=85F26997F6BDF5C66D643EE0611E0CDB Â Â Oddly enough, it wasn't even the video clip I "approved" during the actual touch screen process (it's one of the weaker elements). Even though, it's a nice little touch....and free! Yay!
kylieeeann
does this cost anything to go on?
Intimidator305
does this cost anything to go on? Â No, and it is awesome!!! If you don't have the chance to do all 3 courses, I would rank them 1)Black Bear Cliff 2) Geyser Gorge 3) Rocky Top Trail, so if you don't think you are going to do all 3 courses, so I would recommend doing them in that order. Be sure to do Adventure Mountain early in the morning or right before the "after 3 next day free" crowd comes in to avoid waiting a long time in line because it takes a while to dress and hook everyone up to the course. If you go within the first hour (9-10) there shouldn't be a line at all because it is in the very back of the park. Both days I went it was walk-on in the early mornings and had quite the wait later on in the day.
